Psychology EXTEND THE SCOPE OF YOUR ASSESSMENT PRACTICE AND TREATMENT INTERVENTIONS.
Fielding’s Neuropsychology Specialization Training Program provides psychologists with formal instruction in neuropsychological foundations, theories, and assessments in preparation for practice as a neuropsychologist.
The faculty at Fielding are expert practitioners in the field and provide a curriculum that is rigorous, challenging, and extremely rewarding. John Pellitteri, PsyD Neuropsychology Certificate Alumnus
Our curriculum provides a broad foundation in the latest theory and research in brain-behavior relationships and training in how to conduct a comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation. Throughout the program, the careful study of patients with various neuropathological disorders develops clinical skills and knowledge related to understanding the interaction among psychosocial, neurological, and medical factors impacting the patient’s functioning and development of treatment strategies. Students and faculty meet one weekend a month, 10 months a year, in cluster groups located in New York City and Southern California. Most students complete the program in two years and spend an average of 5 to 10 hours a week on their studies in addition to their clinical activities.
PROGRAM BENEFITS
§ Expand your practice and increase your income § Complete many requirements towards board certification § Learn neuropsychological foundations, theories, and assessments § Acquire hands-on experience in neuropsychological evaluation § Study with renowned faculty

Neuropsychology Specialization Training Program MODEL CURRICULUM SEQUENCE
Students complete one course per term.
Theory/Foundation of Clinical Neuropsychology Courses: Neuroanatomy and Brain-Behavior Relationships Neuropsychological Disorders Methods and Principles of Neuropsychological Assessment Clinical Assessment Courses: Neuropsychological Assessment of Neurological Disorders Neuropsychological Assessment of Psychiatric Disorders Neuropsychological Assessment of Developmental Disorders Clinical Experience: A minimum of 1,000 hours of clinical experience involving neuropsychological evaluation and report writing. Patients come from your own practice or employer. Evaluate at least 50 individuals over two years; no more than 20 hours may be accrued for one case. These cases will be presented in cluster. Your faculty advisor will inform you about special requirements for preparing a presentation (e.g., format, need to schedule a time or not, etc.) Case Consultation: 200 hours of Clinical Case Consultation provided by the Neuropsychology program faculty. Over the course of two years, students must maintain a 1/5 ratio of consultation hours to practicum. If not, a third year is required (see below.) Final Professional Evaluation (FPE): Students submit a written, comprehensive case study and are orally examined on it. The FPE occurs in person unless this requirement is waived by the faculty member because hardships related to an in-person exam would delay the student’s program completion. Any time the FPE is redone due to an initial failure, the event occurs in person.
