Dunfermline Dramatic Society present Pygmalion by Bernard Shaw Thu 11 – Sat 13 Jan 7.30pm £9/£8 conc Pygmalion both delighted and scandalized its first audiences in 1914. A brilliantly witty reworking of the classical tale of the sculptor Pygmalion, who falls in love with his perfect female student, it is also a barbed attack on the British class system and a statement of Shaw’s feminist views. In Shaw’s hands, the phoneticist Henry Higgins is the Pygmalion figure who believes he can transform Eliza Doolittle, a cockney flower girl, into a duchess at ease in polite society. The one thing he overlooks is that his ‘creation’ has a mind of her own.

Harry Potter Glenrothes 70 Years ON

Rothes Halls, 19 Jan, 5.30pm-7pm ‘Glenrothes 70 years On’ is a digital storytelling project which has been taking place across the town. Our resident digital storyteller, Dan Brown, has been working with local groups and individuals to give them the skills and confidence to create their own story using digital equipment. This event is an opportunity to see a selection of these stories as well as celebrating the participants’ achievements.
