They are highly critical consumers who favour their own sports Ready- to-Drink (RTD) nutrition to support performance goals, and view nutrition products as necessity goods. Main product category is sports nutrition powders.
Casual users are recreational athletes demanding active nutrition in forms of powders (whey or plant-based), bars and RTD. They are drawn to familiar ingredients, convenience, clean labels, free-from labels and open to new formats. They are not brand loyal and nor do they view sports nutrition products as necessities.
Lifestyle users are the mainly young, healthy living enthusiasts who invest heavily in fitness as a fundamental aspect of a healthy, high performance lifestyle. Functionality is highly prioritised and they are unwilling to sacrifice the health and wellness claims that drive their sports nutrition purchases with many preferring plant-based proteins. They are very brand conscious, and mainly consume sports protein RTDs and bars.

The legacy of Glanbia Ireland
