The project aim is to conserv a heritage building and or site and design an adaptive extension based on the present surroundings to connect the past and the future of the area. Jakarta as a historical city have so many heritage building, site, structure, and legacy. One of them are Bioskop Metropole located in the center of Cikini. The design try to extend the entertainment which given by the cinema to fulfiil the users around the building which mostly sudent as and working society who needs entertainment as a spare time event. The extension are a common public space which provides free seating throughout the design. Cinematic design approach are implemented to put forward all the programs into one walking alley so are easily visible, also platforms and stairs as an additional space and viewing spot.



Site Analysis The site located precisely behind Metropole Cinema which surrounded by diverse activity according to diverse usage existed. Which shows the busy commuting, stands very opposite with the site condition creating an urban void quality.

An urban project with a bottom up method to respond the surrounding with it’s contextual analysis The site chosen in Blok A with a very attractive condition, which are a segregative area with quite detailed activity. The segregation shown as a very dorman state which are quite or resting. While the users around the site triggered and unfold the ‘resting mode’ and causing it to be lively. As this moving condition, i called ‘pausing movement’ which caused a change throughtout the day which create more potention of the site itself.

attracted trigger pedagang kaki lima berperan memicu user motor untuk berhenti. yang kemudian bertambah dengan user lain yaitu mobil. sehingga area sekital pedagang tersebut berkembangbiang

relasi antara user mobil dan motor terlihat karena adanya elemen yang sama-sama menarik perhatian mereka. kondisi area transisi atau ruang residu yang tercipta pada tepi jalan memicu keadaan berhenti yang berkembang.

persamaan antar elemen repetisi pedagang kaki lima dan tukang stampel plat yang membutuhkan ruang visual menuju jalan utama. sehingga secara sadar user yang akan berkembang disekitarnya menciptakan ruang visual yang berusaha tidak mendistraksi pedagang.

keberadaan tukang stampel plat yang memicu perkembangbiakan user juga mempengaruhi peletakan pedagang kaki lima atau toko kelontong. sehingga keduanya akan berdekatan dan meciptakan area perkembangbiakan bagi user yang lebih kompleks.

A public institution project with an top down method to achieve certain goal. According to Sustainable Development Goal created by the UN, the project purpose are to fulfiill those goals by considering the contextual surrounding area. This market are designed to achieve the goal number one which are poverty and accesible resources. The market also included with a public shared space which are flexible and very organic to any kinds of activity changes throughout the day.

A performative widespan design created in the center of SCBD area. This project brief are to concept a performative design so as to create more sustainable building rather just a commercial space to fill some urban needs. The design incorporate workshop space and gallery with some open space and attractive pipe column tube as a system of the design. These tube act as vertical circulation, utility center, and as an entrance for light and water reflection.
