TIPS FOR EQ - Cut first, then boost - Find problem frequencies by boosting and sweeping with a narrow Q setting, then cut - Watch meters when adding EQ to make sure you don't clip - Don't EQ if you don't need to - Use HPF and LPF to eliminate low end rumble and high end noise

TIPS FOR COMPRESSION - Slow attack speed = more transient (good for percussive instruments) - Quick attack speed can soften transients (smoothes performance) - Long release times can lengthen notes - Use makeup gain to compensate for compressed signal - Higher ratios = More obvious compression - Don't be afraid to compress hard
