Celebrate Asian Heritage Month at the FascinAsian Film Festival in Winnipeg

May 5-7th

The FascinAsian Film Festival (F3) is set to light up screens in Winnipeg and Calgary this May, as part of Asian Heritage Month celebrations.

Movie enthusiasts are encouraged to attend this unique event, which showcases films and stories from the Asian diaspora. Manitoba's only Asian-centric film festival will take place from Friday, May 5 to Sunday, May 7, 2023, at various venues in Winnipeg's Exchange District.

This year's festival features some exceptional highlights, including a talk by Ins Choi, the creator of the popular Canadian television show Kim's Convenience.

Additionally, the Canadian Premiere of Past Lives, a drama by firsttime Korean-Canadian director Celine Song, is sure to attract attention. The film has already generated considerable buzz at renowned film festivals such as Sundance, SXSW, and Berlinale.

Established in 2017 as part of the Asian Heritage Month activities, F3 has evolved from an annual Asian Film Night event into a fully-fledged, three-day festival. Its mission is to provide North American Asian storytellers, performers, and other film and media creatives with equal access to resources and opportunities. By doing so, the festival aims to enhance cultural understanding and promote a positive, insightful perspective on Asian cultures.
