Though the case was about Depp suing for defamation, what the trial has done is bring the issue of domestic abuse against men in the spotlight and been a conversation starter. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 Meanwhile, Dubai summers are edging upon us! And while the city needs no pointers to tackle this – after all fashionistas here are always setting the temperatures soaring with their haute styles and summer fashion – we would recommend you to take care of your health and skin too! Salman Khan and Shehnaaz Gill were photographed together while they attended Salman’s sister Arpita Khan and her husband Aayush Sharma’s Eid celebrations. Among the others who joined the celebration were Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Karisma Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez and Siddharth Malhotra. Shehnaaz is a super fan of Salman Khan and truly adores him. She insisted that he drop her to her car after the party and Salman obliged, much to the delight of the waiting paparazzi. TWINKLE KHANNA’S SHORT STORY SALAAM NONI APPA TO BE ADAPTED INTO A FILM Twinkle Khanna’s career as an actress and a witty writer is about to take yet another interesting turn. The actress is now turning producer for a very special project. A short story from her bestselling book titled The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad is up for a movie adaptation. The film will be directed by debut filmmaker Sonal Dabral. Talking about the personal story, she said, “Salaam Noni Appa, from my second book, loosely based on the relationship between my grandmother and her sister, was first adapted into a lovely play.” She took to social media to announce the movie on which she will serve as producer via Mrs. Funnybones Movies with Ellipsis Entertainment and in partnership with Applause Entertainment.

TIGER SHROFF WANTS TO BREAK INTO HOLLYWOOD Ever since director Zoya Akhtar revealed the first look of The Archies, congratulations have been pouring in for the cast and crew. The film, an Indian adaptation of Archie Comics characters and stories, will be available on OTT platforms. It also marks the debut of three celebrity children: Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan, Sridevi’s younger daughter Khushi Kapoor, and Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda. Agastya plays Archie in the film, while Khushi plays Betty and Suhana plays Veronica. Archie Comics has given a shoutout too. Archie Comics is one of the world’s largest comic book franchises in a world full of superheroes. Since the premiere of the hit show Riverdale in 2016, the franchise has grown in popularity. Archie Comics praised the Bollywood adaptation, saying, “Get ready to take a trip down memory lane.” The cast also includes Mihir Ahuja, Dot, Yuvraj Menda, and Vedang Raina. 10 FILMFARE MIDDLE EAST June 2022

Tiger Shroff has established himself as an action star in the Bollywood industry over the years. Recently, Tiger reacted to a comment made by his sister about trying out a Hollywood stint. Responding to the comment, the actor said, “that is my eventual goal”. Referring to the kinds of action heroes in Hollywood, the actor explained, “There is a void in terms of a young action hero in the West. It’s been a while since you have seen somebody with that skill set, portraying action or the kind of action I do. That is my goal eventually to sort of get into that space and try my luck in the West. So I have been offered a couple of times. I have auditioned and failed a couple of times in auditions, but I am still trying,” he said.

TAAPSEE PANNU CAST OPPOSITE SHAH RUKH KHAN IN DUNKI It had been quite some time since the rumour mills were suggesting a possible collaboration of Shah Rukh Khan and ace filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani.. Just a few days back the news was indeed confirmed by Shah Rukh Khan himself and the cherry on top was Taapsee Pannu coming onboard for the same. Like every other actor, Taapsee went on to share with a leading daily how she was thrilled to receive such a big project. About working with superstar Shah Rukh Khan, she commented, “With Shah Rukh sir, what I was most looking forward to spend that time off-screen with him, where I can just sit in chat with him, because I love his personality beyond his films as well — the wit, the humour, the experience that he has, and the honesty with which he narrates his experiences. I wanted to hear those experiences that he’s gone through in those decades of creating what he has created.”

KAREENA KAPOOR KHAN TO MAKE OTT DEBUT WITH JAIDEEP AHLAWAT, VIJAY VARMA This is perhaps the best time for Bollywood A-listers to announce their digital debut. After Madhuri Dixit Nene and Ajay Devgn recently launched their streaming career with The Fame Game and Rudra: The Edge of Darkness respectively, Kareena Kapoor Khan revealed that she is set to make her OTT debut. The actress is attached to star in a film directed Ghosh. The film which also features Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay by Sujoy Ghosh Varma is described as a murder mystery. It’s based on the bestselling novel, The Devotion of Suspect X by the Japanese author Keigo Higashino. Production for the project which will land on a popular streaming platform has begun in Darjeeling. Kareena had earlier shared her thoughts about the mystery film saying, “I can’t wait to begin work on this exciting project. It’s one that has all the right ingredients… a great story, a visionary director and a super talented cast and crew.”

New Star She was shy the first time I spoke to her and when she attended the Filmfare Middle East Achiever’s Night in October 2021. Slowly, the beautiful Miss World and upcoming actor Manushi Chhillar opens up about her life as a medical student to being the beauty queen and then her forppay into Bollywood. A month before her mega film debut, the lead of the upcoming movie Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, the beautiful actor, spoke to me about her foray into Bollywood cinema and her character of the spunky and fearless Sanyogita who defied all odds and chose her partner much to the chagrin of her feudal dad. How similar are Sanyogita and Manushi… read on Manju Ramanan A dream debut and a dream role, and a love story of a woman who represented choice back then, how do you look at the character of Sanyogita? It is an empowered character. She was much younger than I am right now when he took the choice of choosing her own husband back in the day when it was thought inconceivable. She was feminine, young, yet determined and strong of conviction. What surprised me is that she stunned everyone by exercising her freedom of choice. You can say that it was one of the oldest love marriages in history where she chosen the person she wanted to marry someone her father absolutely hated. She understood at a young age about politics and diplomacy and decided to not be a collateral damage in that equation by marrying who her father chose. Also, she stood up for women’s rights even after she was married. She is a strong woman with a lot of relatability about her and so I firmly believe that she is not a dated personality and today’s generation will vibe with her. Unlike other women warriors Sanyogita is not that well known? Her character is not very well known but revered a lot for openly defying her father and eloping with the love of her June 2022 FILMFARE MIDDLE EAST 13

life. We have read about other warrior princesses and queens that India has given to the world but the story of Sanyogita and Prithviraj is an immortal love story. I have read about them in the Indian comics series Amar Chitra Katha as a child and in the Hindi speaking states of India, their story is popular in folk lore too, stories I have heard from my grand-mom. The writer and director of the film Dr Chandra Prakash Trivedi is a medical practitioner too and you have a medical background as well. How was it working with him? He would constantly tell me that I was his junior. He is a practicing doctor and I didn’t complete my degree, so there is a huge difference. But I come from a family of doctors. We are from outside the film industry and our approach to films is different. He made me feel comfortable and it was great working with Doctor saab as we used to call him. I have learnt a lot from him. His research is his strength. Right from the architecture of that period to the stones, the sand on the ground and little details we usually miss, to the karigari on a dupatta, those small efforts he puts into his work is unusual. He builds his story and characters along these details and his method of working has helped me a lot. He was very clear on how his Sanyogita would be and the character didn’t have too much of creative freedom. It was challenging yet rewarding at the same time. The brought us close and today he, his wife and daughter are like family to me. What were your questions to him about the character? Doctor saab was working on the project was so long that I never really had to ask him many questions. It was eight months between reading the script for the first time to being on set. I had my basic questions – usually whys. Why did she have to say that, why did she do this etc. I didn’t agree to a lot of things but I reasoned out and understood. Today in the day and age of dating websites where people meet each other virtually without really meeting each other in real time, love happens. Sanyogita and Prithviraj fell in love through the stories the poets sang of them or the paintings the painters made of them or the poems that were written about them. They never met or courted, yet she was ready to elope with him and marry him defying her father’s wishes. I had to convince myself to step into her shoes. But that I guess what acting is all about.

Did your training in classical dance help you in your role? As a child, I used to be a kuchipudi dancer and went to Natya tarangini for three years so there is a bit of Indian-ness to my dance. For this film however, I learnt kathak. There is some energetic dancing in the film and it helped to perform another classical dance form though they are vastly different. Kuchipudi is from Andhra Pradesh and Kathak is from the Northern belt. I did a bit of stunt training too. In fact, there is a bit of everything I did in the

film that includes acting dance, stunts, romance etc. What about the elaborate costumes? We have watched historical films of different versions – there is a Sanjay Leela Bhansali version, a Ashutosh Gowariker version, a Rajamouli sir’s version. Each director has his or her own interpretation of a period film. This film centres around authenticity and is not stylized. Characters in the film look like the way they are supposed to look back then. Costumes were very exciting to wear though they were not the most comfortable. Also, Dr Trivedi had gone

into the details of what kind of makeup was worn during that time. On one song shoot day for Holi, I was wearing a lehenga and it was soaking up all the water and it was getting heavier. I danced with 250 dancers to the song with this rather heavy and wet lehenga. You put your fame and your Miss World title to good use by addressing medical health? Yes. My father had worked with DRDO in a thyroid project and he noticed that several women from affluent families too would come

with anemia because they would neglect their nutritional needs. Or not have the freedom to buy supplements for themselves. He started supplying iron and calcium tablets to women post menopause. I started the menstrual hygiene project while at college and after winning Miss World I could address it at a larger platform. The government of Haryana supported the project too and I am still associated with it. What were the Hindi films that moved you I used to read novels than watching movies but loved watching all Shahrukh Khan films. I loved love stories and some of my favourite films have been ‘Dil toh pagal hai’ and ‘My name is Khan’. My father would take me and my sister and mom to the theatres and take three handkerchiefs because we would end up crying in the films. (Laughs) At 14 years of age you wanted to be a doctor and your mother wasn’t exactly pleased? As a child people asked you what would want to be when you grow up and since my entire family including my parents, uncles and aunts are doctors, I told them that I would be anything but a doctor. At 14 years of age I went to the National Science Centre to paint and there was a video playing that was describing anatomy. While most of my friends were disgusted looking at it I was drawn to it. I decided to take p medicine and while my dad was happy my mom wasn’t. I am very close to her and she knew that I would be happiest doing multiple things. In school too, I was happy organizing annual days, being onstage dancing etc. She sat me down and told me that if I took up medicine I would be studying for 10-12 years easily and told me that I had more options than taking up medicine. I ended up with medicine and then not exactly! Former Miss World Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra Jonas have made a global mark. How do you plan to shape your journey ahead? Aishwarya Rai and Priyanka Chopra have done really well in their own way and I wish to do that too. It is a mystery to me on what I will do and I am discovering things about myself daily. I never knew I would become an actor but today I am. Both these inspiring ladies have created a mark in the world and carved their own path. I would like to do the same. Denzel was inspired by one of my father’s biggest clients ‘Magguji’, who used to give my father a lot of business because he had lots of weddings in the family. A large part of his childhood was spent in Bhopal. It’s his mother’s hometown. According to him, she’s had a huge role to play behind his decision of telling a story through fashion. “My grandmother would just randomly go to a haat in Bhopal which was about block printing and then she would tell me, ‘oh see this is Ajrakh and this is Bagh’. If there is an Orissa haat for example she’ll collect little miniatures of wooden crafted sculptures and put them in the house. Her whole house had become like a museum, every carpet was woven, something was from Kashmir, something was from Telangana, and

the sarees were from Chanderi, which eventually became my inspiration. My inquisitiveness was given a lot of love and there was an effort to teach me. She made me a better person and a better designer simply by engaging so much with me,” he recalls. The talk veers to his Bazaar Of Love collection which was inspired by Shyam Benegal’s Mandi. He was tired of the classist norms and wanted to move the conversation to somewhere else. “We are a country that also comes from poverty, sexism, patriarchy and so many other issues which can be addressed through our medium of fashion. There is beauty in pain, there is beauty in love loss and heartbreak,and female sexuality which for me was the beginning of the Mandi. The idea was to make sure that fashion was more relatable and more conversational than fluff,” he explains.

ontinuing to rule hearts and the big screen for over three decades, Madhuri Dixit Nene has wowed fans on the OTT too! And now, close on the heels of the success of her latest outing

The Fame Game on Netflix, the Bollywood superstar has taken to the mic and released her

singles. While her first song, ‘Candle’ was about spreading hope, the actress-singer’s second single ‘Tu Hai Mera’ from her upcoming album celebrates her special connection with fans, the diva tells me in a candid chat. Excerpts from our exclusive interview where the Queen of Hearts talks all about the Madhuri magic, her undying passion for cinema and unveiling the singer in her

- Aakanksha Naval-Shetye YOUR NEWEST SINGLE ‘TU HAI MERA’ HAS BEEN HITTING ALL THE RIGHT CHORDS WITH YOUR FANS... Well, a lot of thought has gone into it! And we really worked on it in terms of how we wanted to present it, what is it that we want the song to say, and how we were going to picturise it… A lot of the things were planned and then put into action. So it’s good to see that the song is being so well-received. It was important that it be presented right, as it talks about emotions, my fans and how I feel about them. And it looks good as it comes from a place of sincerity, and that’s most important – be it a song or series or a movie. BUT WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG TO TAKE TO THE MIC AS A SINGER? I have always been singing in school and at home too, I had so much music as my mom had done her Masters Degree in vocal Hindustani music. We used to go for classical recitals with her, so there’s been a lot of exposure right from my childhood. Also since I learnt Kathak, thumris and bhajans are all a part of the dance training as well. And of course I’m from Bollywood so everything for me is song and dance and acting, so it’s all always been a part of my life. But initially when I was working I was so busy that I used to do two to three shifts in one single day and never really got time to devote to singing. And I’m not the kinds to do something just for the heck of it, I will work hard and make sure it is of certain quality, when it reaches the people and I’m giving them something that’s worth listening to and that it’s my best that I can do. But it was because of the encouragement from my husband that we finally did decide to do this album. So I trained under Ron Anderson, who is a very popular vocal coach in LA. Then we went into the studio where I collaborated with Rajakumari and Narendra Singh who is the producer on this song. TELL US MORE ABOUT THAT CREATIVE PROCESS We sat and discussed about what we want to sing and what should the album be about, so it’s basically songs that talk about the back stories of being a film star, of being an actress and there are so many emotions that we go through. Like the earlier song ‘Candle’ was about how you have to be a beacon of light in your worst phase. Like you may be going through the worst time, but when you are in front of the people you have to be that inspiration, and be that candle in the rain. Move ahead inspite of all odds! My second is about my fans, because one of the most interesting aspects of being in the limelight is that you are who you are because of your fans. They are the ones who make you. Whether

they’re fans admiring you, sending you letters, fans making artwork, doing something special for you, doing social work in your name, I just felt that I had to tell them how I feel about them. I’ve had a career of more than 35 years and I’ve had fans who’ve been unshakeable. They’ve loved me unconditionally and have stood by me through thick and thin, through my failures and successes they have always been there for me, so I decided to sing what I feel for them and we created the song. We knew it had to be a song where the fans are shown participating and we started with letters because that’s how the concept came about. You know in the 90s when the fan mail used to come to you, and so we knew we had to translate that love and show the fan mail. And today we are in times where everything is on social media, so I thought that would be a great way to end the song. SO FAN LETTERS TO SOCIAL MEDIA, WHAT’S MORE SPECIAL… LETTERS OR COMMENTS! Every era has its own charm. Back then it used to be about writing letters and they used to wait with bated breath ki kab jawab aayega. But as much as we wanted to, it was not possible to reply to each and every fan mail. Today it is much easier to be directly in touch with more fans, so that’s wonderful too. ANY FAN MAILS THAT YOU HAVE HELD ON TO? Well, a fan mail of 35 years, that would be impossible (laughs). But hopefully their love and support will always continue. AS A CREATIVE ARTISTE, WHAT DO YOU WANT TO EXPLORE NEXT? There are so many things to explore, the world is out there to be explored. But right now I have another four songs that I want to release, which we will drop as singles one by one, and I’m looking forward to that. Also my film Majaa Maa is going to release, on Amazon Prime and then there are other projects in the pipeline. But I’m very excited with the way things are going, and I’m excited about The Fame Game and excited with the way people have accepted and loved it. It was a beautiful series and I enjoyed working on it. It was a challenging role and I thoroughly enjoyed it. WHAT’S THE SECRET OF THAT MADHURI MAGIC! ALSO MAINTAINING THE BALANCE BETWEEN BEING PRIVATE AS A FAMILY PERSON AND YET BEING CONNECTED TO FANS? I think it’s just the way I have been brought up. my kids also that whatever you choose to do in life, give it your best. Being sincere and perseverance is most important and if you do that, rest all will fall into place. They have also taught me that you are a human being first and then everything else, so that’s what I believe in. For me, my family, my home, everything is just as important as my career is. And also I was blessed that I got support in my family right from my mom and dad who have unconditionally supported me and always stood by me, to my husband who is again someone who has always encouraged me and always wants me to pursue all the creative fields I want to as an artiste. And my mother-in-law and my father-in-law they are all on my court and they all want me to be the very best of me. They are also very supportive and I think all these help me do and achieve all that I want to.

hitrangda Singh, who has proven her mettle as an actor par excellence with every big screen outing, has done it once again. The Bollywood stunner has been garnering much acclaim and praise for her segment Cutting Chai in the recently released web-series Modern Love: Mumbai that also marked her OTT debut. The actress was headed for the premiere when I caught up with her for a candid chat. From being super-selective when it comes to choosing her projects to falling in love with Mumbai, and her take on love in these times, the actress reveals it all in this exclusive interview. Read on to know more… - Aakanksha Naval-Shetye YOU HAVE ALWAYS KNOWN TO BE VERY SELECTIVE WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR FILMS. DIDN’T IT BOTHER YOU THAT IT SOMETIMES LED TO LONG INTERVALS BETWEEN YOUR SCREEN OUTINGS? Yes, I have been selective, because I want to do good work and work with people that I would be comfortable with, rather than just saying a yes for the sake of being visible or being relevant. Sometimes the people around too try to convince you, but I know that if I don’t take up a film or a project for the right reason then I’ll be miserable! Matlab haan karlo and then not be happy going and doing it is unfair to me and to the makers too. So I know it would be better to wait and do something that I am convinced about and believe in. Everyone has their ways and priorities and everyone is different, and yes this is me. YOU HAVE CHARTERED YOUR OWN PATH IN BOLLYWOOD AND DONE IT ON YOUR TERMS AND TODAY PEOPLE ASSOCIATE YOU WITH A CERTAIN CALIBER OF WORK. WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR PROCESS LIKE? My choices have been completely driven by instinct, and a bit of destiny. Actually a lot of it is destiny (laughs) and I’m very grateful for this journey. I don’t take up everything coming

my way nor do I agree to everything being recommended by the people around me, neither do I have a checklist. I mean I listen to suggestions, but the choices are driven by a gut feeling. So like I said I’d just be unhappy working with a set of people I don’t believe in or work on a project I’m not convinced about, so that’s what I have been driven by. Maybe it was God’s will that I took a break of almost 7 years in 2002 after shooting for Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi and I came back in 2010 after a long break and who knew it, but I had to come back to it, so yes that’s a lot of destiny too. I just trust the process. I had no contact with anyone in the industry for those seven years, but I was thankful that the audience hadn’t forgotten me or my work. People have short memory and out of sight is out of mind, but I’m glad that people welcomed me back so warmly, so I’m thankful for that. WHAT WAS YOUR DRAW FOR AGREEING TO DO MODERN LOVE’S CUTTING CHAI? Well, I had almost missed doing it! So, I was doing the promotions of Bob Biswas and the script was lost between all the messages and I just missed it. While the makers, they assumed that I wasn’t interested in doing it, but then Rangita (Nandy) messaged me directly and I immediately read the script. In 15 minutes, I called her right back, saying I’m in! And I called the manager and said let’s make this happen, so yes we did it. It’s such a beautiful and well-written script and Nupur was directing it, so it was a no brainer that I would do it. Arshad (Warsi) was on board already. Infact he was the first one to be cast and I was the last one on board, but it was just so lovely to be on this one. MUMBAI HAS BEEN HOME FOR YOU IN MORE RECENT TIMES, SO WHAT DOES CUTTING CHAI SIGNIFY FOR YOU? Cutting Chai in the beginning for a Delhi girl was like itni kam chai kaun pita hai! So for me it was like yeh kya hai! But Mumbai well, Mumbai for me is everything. It’s over time you realise what it means for you. In the beginning it was all about work here, like I got this and I did that, but in time you realise what the city does to you and how it becomes a part of your life, and the people here are all so spirited. I love the vibe, the creative energy in this place, and you only realise it when you live in another city like Delhi. There is a huge difference, and for me the people are very important. They are special. So many people are working to create something and that is exciting for me. ARE YOU A FAN OF THE ORIGINAL SERIES MODERN LOVE? Yes, I loved the first season, especially the segment with Anne Hathaway. I loved how frail she was and what a performance, so beautiful, matlab it doesn’t get more real and I think in its own way that’s what these stories are. They are keeping it all very real. And Cutting Chai is also a very real story. It’s not preachy or flag bearing feminism. It’s real, no profound intellectual conversations, it’s a simple fight to be heard and its very ordinary and I love this ordinariness of the narrative. CUTTING CHAI IS VERY RELATABLE? Yes, and that’s the most beautiful part. The first time I read it, that was the draw that a lot of women will agree and find a similarity. It’s not like a once in a lifetime phenomenon, it’s like once a month toh hota hoga, it happens, its common and regular

especially for working women. I think every working woman and her partner can relate to it. You can relate to the narrative, you get into the head space of my character Latika, so I suppose one will understand what a woman is going through, how mundane things can become her life and it’s not fair to expect her to accept it! THAT’S LATIKA’S HEADSPACE! WHAT WOULD WE FIND IF WE GET INTO YOUR HEADSPACE? (Laughs) It’ll be a constant jabber that’ll chew your ears off! My head space is I think a lot, like most women, constantly thinking. My headspace is a lot about what I need to do, so constantly making my list of things to do. So there are happy days and mostly it’s all very simple, nothing complicated. But I need to keep everything going perfectly, so yes lists are there. I like it all perfectly aligned, so that’s the painful aspect! WHAT’S BEEN YOUR TAKEAWAY FROM THE SERIES? My take away was this feeling I had when I was reading the script, that things don’t have to be extraordinary to be special, or feel a joy in your life. It can be fairly ordinary and you can still feel joy in your life. Like you’d see a couple travelling together in a local train, but there’s happiness of being together. So its joy, no reason, but it’s just there. It makes you wonder how they feel that joy. So it’s this beauty of Latika and Danny’s relationship! She realizes that she has everything, so what’s twisted that she’s trying to set straight! So I think my take-away is that the painting will never be straight enough. So stop staring and thinking it’s wrong and just enjoy the simple things in life.

So the problem is choosing convenience over efforts to make things right. But the sad part is you can’t blame anybody. When you are young, you are just surrounded by things where everything is just so calculated, so modern love is a lot more planned and strategic. I miss the silliness and innocence of it. How do you encapsulate the grand diversity of a beautiful country to invite the world to its doors? Rupinder Brar, Additional Director General, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India has a few pointers for tourists and travelers. Manju Ramanan caught up with the graceful, saree clad Brar at the Incredible India booth at the massive Arabian Travel Mart.

HOW DO YOU ENCAPSULATE THE GRAND VARIETY THAT IS INDIA TO ATTRACT TOURISTS? Only an Indian could have asked this question. India is a beautiful layered existence and we are exposed to the various ‘Indias’ within India. The amount of transfers we go through as officials, helps us to appreciate the various parts and philosophies of India. Common to all of these experiences is an Indian-ness, an underlying philosophy of spirituality and what lies beyond the material world. It amazes me as to how we are ready to dive into its quaint and daily routines like watering the tulsi, being part of the ‘aartis’ etc. The ‘pooja ka laddo,’ has a different significance to us as we wield the baton heading multinational corporations. This amalgamation of various worlds makes us unique and hence our tourism unique. IS FOOD AN INTRINSIC PART OF THIS EXPERIENCE, CONSIDERING THE VARIETY INDIA HAS? If you compare the culture of food across the world, the variety we have is incredible. The usage of spices, cooking style and how we balance the carbs, the proteins in our food, and how we use our various spices for our body’s metabolism, stems from traditional wisdom. Post covid, there is a deep interest in the wellness industry of India. I don’t mean the apparent yoga part of it, which is already well known but Ayurveda and its aspect of vath, pitha, kapha balance. ARE THERE ANY HIGHLIGHTS YOU ARE PROMOTING THIS YEAR ONWARDS? world over, people throng to India for its spirituality. Hinduism is one of the four major religions of the world and there are various circuits designed for people coming to India for religious tourism. If you are a Krishna devotee, there is a Krishna circuit, for Sufis, there are tours to sufi places like Ajmer’s Moinuddin Chishti’s tomb if you are a Jain, there is an entire route designed for you in terms of its old temples and places of pilgrimage and if you are Sikh, there is a route that is designed for you that includes the Golden temple of Amritsar. The quest for Camelot is the quest for self in India. Any interaction with India is an intense affair and people fall in love with India and it is up to the individual to absorb a dimension suited to him/her. The northern part of India is different than the south and the most-known destinations that include Rajasthan, Kerala, Agra and Mumbai are but gateways to the rest of India. Currently there is a lot of interest in home-stays and monsoon tourism – the western Ghats, especially the train ride between Mumbai to Goa, the alphonso mangoes of Ratnagiri are nuggets to explore and savour. So is the beauty of Uttarakhand. In fact, for the Beatles fans, there is a Beatles village in Dehradun where the musical icons created 38 songs one of them being Doon Doon Dehradun! BUT IF YOU WERE TO STATE ONE REASON WHY TOURISTS SHOULD COME TO INDIA? Yes. It is the warmth you feel in India be it homes or the entire hospitality industry. It is pretty normal for most Indian families to give the guest their best rooms – be it their own bedrooms. The guest is considered God in most Indian cultures and often you see when a guest arrives the best crockery comes out, fresh towels and the comfort of the guest treated as prime. If a guest arrives at odd hours, the entire family is up looking after him – it is normal to find family members cooking fresh food and look after them in the most loving manner. The same goes for the hospitality industry. Even if items are not listed in the menu, the staff makes an effort to make people comfortable. This is why India is different. There is an inherent warmth in its hospitality that is part of its DNA and is not “cultivated.” How many countries

Rupinder Brar can boast of it? And it is not about people’s economic status. Be it a small shanty to a mansion, people welcome guests with what they have – be it the best crockery, unused quilts and towels etc, these things are quaint and at the core of its hospitality. In terms of medical tourism, we rank sixth and we have a huge potential to develop it. Also. alternative medicine is a huge part of India and the craft sector is so vibrant here. Right now it’s just that all this is happening on a much bigger scale. But I can’t become smaller to fit in. I’m just going to be myself and if someone doesn’t like me that’s their problem. They can deal with it, I don’t have to fit in their frame.

So did you always want to be an actor? Yes, the irony is that I always wanted to be an actor, but I’m not known as an actor. I haven’t gotten anything good yet. But I knew that I always wanted to be an actor, that much was clear right from my childhood. Initially I was just too scared because I knew my parents would never allow it. I would just have been married to someone and maximum have some 9-to-5 job. But I didn’t really think that I would love ‘this dream’! Are your parents supportive now? Well, my mom does. I don’t really live with my father anymore, so they’re good. What are you more keen on exploring – TV, OTT or Bollywood? Bollywood is too close a circle. Outsiders are still trying to get that one chance, get into a circle to be a part of Bollywood, and I’m not even close to that circle. So I don’t have those dreams. But OTT I feel is such an amazing platform. You don’t have to worry about which film to be in to be a part of a good project. You don’t need a film to be known as a good actor. Even if you have one scene in a web series and

you do it well, you leave such a strong impact. You become a meme! And I love being a meme! I am so okay with people calling me ‘meme material’ too. But what genre would you want to take on? Something that would leave a good message, maybe a women-based film highlighting a strong issue. The kind of issues women have faced and still do. To emote something that you have never experienced in real life and to get that right is a challenge I want to take on. Any projects you are currently working on? I only get bold offers and I’m not okay with intimate scenes. I’m not interested. I have talent and there’s more to me than my social media image. It’s weird that people judge you according to that especially a person who is a public figure. What I am and what I put out are two separate things. That’s a different life on social media. We don’t put out our real selves out there. That person might be facing depression but that is not what will reflect on the posts. They might be posting happy pictures. So judging someone based on their social media, like in my case judging me based on my clothes is so shallow. We talk so much about feminism, mental health, women issues, but at the end of the day for all the modern talks what they still do is judge you based on your clothes! But you do surprise people each time! You seem to be inspired by The Met Gala! Yes, there are so many memes on me and I love them. I love the Met Gala, but I also take fashion inspiration from a lot of international designers, but they are not easily accessible for everyone, so I just put my DIY approach to couture and their clothes, and some ideas are mine. According to me, my fashion, and whatever I wear is to make a statement. I’m not wearing it for you to like me or not. I don’t care about that. As long as you talk about me, I’ve made a statement. What makes you so fearless? The fact that I don’t worry about if they will like me or not. If you come at me, I will call you out. I’m not afraid of anyone maybe that’s why I have that confidence. Maybe I’m not scared right now because I have nothing to lose! Maybe if I enter Bollywood I would think twice, ‘ki like Karan Johar ke khilaaf nahin bol sakte, usne toh apne ko movie di hai boss (laughs). So I can’t take that guarantee in the future. But as of now, no one is doing anything for me, so why would I be afraid to speak up my mind. Were you flooded with offers post Bigg Boss? I did turn down many, but to be honest it isn’t like I was flooded with offers. I was told by a casting director that I’m too bold for television. Do you think your image limits your projects and the prospects of filmmakers offering you certain roles? If I’m too bold for their roles, then we need more bold characters in the industry, but then its not me lacking talent, it’s them lacking the diversity. Women have all sorts of personalities and on TV shows every show highlights the same personality when it comes to the protagonist – a simple housewife driven by society and family needs. The moment she becomes ambitious she is slotted as a schemer and a vamp. Have more relevant and relatable content and stop idolizing men or women. People have flaws, and when Bollywood starts showing embracing flaws, then is when the change will truly happen.

According to me, my fashion, and whatever I wear is to make a statement. I’m not wearing it for you to like me or not. I don’t care about that. As long as you talk about me, I’ve made a statement. But that is changing? On OTT yes, but not Bollywood and TV so much. I am waiting for that one web-show that would actually make people respect me as an actor. Because I know I am a good actor. It’s not that I’m bragging or being over confident, but I know who I am, I only speak facts. Yes, you have to be unapologetic about knowing your worth! Exactly. There are a lot of people who try to pull me down, and try to shame me. If I only won’t have faith in me then how can I expect people to say good about me. So I had to start loving myself, idolizing myself, telling myself that I know who I am and not what they are labelling you, shaming or making fun of you. So if I don’t stand up for myself, who will. I don’t need validation from others, the only thing that matters to me is me. What’s your relationship status? I’m always single. Have you ever seen me with a guy? (Laughs). Is it because you haven’t found the right person or because you want to keep it private? Both! I haven’t found the right person and I keep it private too. Also people talk so much rubbish about me, I don’t know if my partner will be able to take that side of me. Not everyone can handle being talked about. I have not met a man strong enough to handle what comes with being with me. Is it far more challenging to find love or even true friendships in the industry? It all depends on you. If you vibe you connect, it’s as simple as that. All people have different experiences so, I don’t know. June 2022 FILMFARE MIDDLE EAST 43

‫يقول ماجد العامري يف مقابلة أجريناها على الزوم‪ .‬ماجد بدأ مشاوره على مواقع التواصل‬ ‫االجتماعي برسالة من القلب لنشر اإليجابية يف زمن أصبح فيه االبتسامة إجناز صعب لكثرة‬ ‫ضغوطات احلياة‪ ،‬فيأتي ماجد مبحتوى خفيف على القلب عميق املعنى‪ .‬حنان يحيى مالزم يف‬ ‫مقابلة من القلب إلى القلب مع اإلماراتي صاحب الفكر اإليجابي الذي يرى أن املجتمع العربي‬ ‫ذو قيمة كبيرة قد ال يدركها جيل اليوم‪.‬‬

‫الكثير من املسلسالت أصبحت تثير‬ ‫اﳉدل بشكل عام‪ ،‬ملا ﲢدﺛت عن‬ ‫مسلسل ‪The Real Housewives‬‬ ‫‪ ،of Dubai‬من بﲔ كل املسلسالت‬ ‫األﺧرى؟‬ ‫االسم نفسه يشير على كل النساء‬ ‫املوجودات يف دبي‪ ،‬سواء كن إماراتيات‬ ‫أو من جنسية أخرى‪ .‬احملتوى الذي‬ ‫يقدمونه ال يقدم صورة عادلة لكل‬ ‫ربات املنزل‪ .‬يوجد الكثير من ربات‬ ‫املنزل اللواتي تعملن بجد وتعمل على‬ ‫تربية أبنائها يف أفضل طريقة ﳑكنة‪.‬‬ ‫الكثير من النساء يف اإلمارات قدمن‬ ‫أمو ًرا عظيمة‪ .‬كما يوجد عدة أفالم‬ ‫رائعة ﰎ تصويرها يف دولة اإلمارات‪،‬‬ ‫مثل ‪ ، Fast and Furious‬و‪Mis-‬‬ ‫‪ sion Impossible‬وهذه األفالم من‬ ‫شأنها أن تساعد البلد من اﳉانب‬ ‫السياحي‪ .‬ولكن ليس بطريقة تسيء‬ ‫إلى البلد‪.‬‬

‫ساعة كاملة‪ ،‬فقال أحد املتابعني لي أن‬ ‫هذا كان البث األول الذي يراه بدون أي‬ ‫تعليقات سلبية‪.‬‬ ‫هل للتنمر أسباب؟‬ ‫التنمر والكالم السلبي أمران مختلفان‬ ‫متا ًما‪ .‬التنمر هي نية واضحة وصريحة‬ ‫إليذاء شخص آخر‪ .‬التنمر موجود بشكل‬ ‫واضح وصريح‪ ،‬بعض الناس تقوم بذلك‬ ‫بهدف اختبار صبر الطرف اآلخر‪،‬‬ ‫دون الوضع بعني االعتبار أن الطرف‬ ‫اآلخر قد يكون يف ﻇروف صعبة جتعل‬ ‫احتمال للتنمر أقل‪ .‬ولذلك يجب تفادي‬ ‫التنمر بكل أشكاله وحتت أي ﻇرف‪.‬‬ ‫لم اﺧترت اللغة اإلجنليزية لتقدم‬ ‫اﶈتوى اﳋاص بك؟‬ ‫لغتي األم هي اللغة اإلجنليزية‪ .‬والدتي‬ ‫بريطانية اﳉنسية‪ ،‬وتعلمت اللغة‬ ‫العربية الح ًقا‪ .‬أفكر باللغة اإلجنليزية‬ ‫وأعبر عن نفسي بشكل أفضل باللغة‬ ‫اإلجنليزية‪ .‬إال أنني حريص على‬ ‫إضافة الترجمة على كل مقاطعي‪.‬‬

‫هل برأيك املنﺼات الرقمية ُتقدم‬ ‫اﶈتوى الﺼحيﺢ للمشاهد؟‬ ‫يف احلقيقة‪ ،‬ملدة عامني أو أكثر لم‬ ‫أشاهد نتفليكس‪ .‬السبب األول هو‬ ‫عدم توفر الوقت والسبب الثاني كثرة‬ ‫شكاوى الناس على نوع احملتوى الذي‬ ‫يتم تقدميه‪.‬‬

‫على صﻔحتك الشخﺼية‪ ،‬تقدم الكثير‬ ‫من اﶈتوى اإليجابي إال أن وجود أناس‬ ‫سلبيﲔ أمر ال فرار منه‪ .‬كيف تتعامل‬ ‫مع هذه الﻔﺌة من الناس؟‬ ‫بعض الناس تعلق بشكل سلبي ألنها لم‬ ‫تفهم هدفك أو رسالتك‪ ،‬وعندما يحدث‬ ‫هذا‪ ،‬أحتدث مع الشخص وأشرح له‬ ‫وجهة نظري‪ .‬بعض الناس تعلق بشكل‬ ‫سلبي فقط للفت االنتباه‪ .‬أي عندما‬ ‫يرى أغلب الناس يعلقون بشكل إيجابي‪،‬‬ ‫فيقوم بإضافة تعليق سلبي فقط للفت‬ ‫االنتباه‪ .‬ولكن بشكل عام‪ ،‬أغلب املتابعني‬ ‫لدي يتمتعون بإيجابية عالية‪ ،‬أذكر يف‬ ‫إحدى املرات قمت بفتح بث مباشر ملدة‬

‫هل هناك ما ترغب بتغييره يف املجتمع‬ ‫العربي؟‬ ‫أمتنى أن يدرك املجتمع العربي قيمته‬ ‫وأال يؤمن أن املجتمع الغربي أفضل‪.‬‬ ‫لدينا تاريﺦ وحضارة وثقافة جميلة‬ ‫ج ًدا‪ .‬لألسف أصبح اﳉيل الصاعد‬ ‫يحكم بشكل ضعيف‪ ،‬حسب املالبس‬ ‫وذوق األغاني‪ .‬أصبحت الناس تنظر‬ ‫على أن املتحدث باللغة اإلجنليزية‬ ‫شخص متعلم‪ .‬رغم أن اللغة العربية‬ ‫أصعب من اللغة اإلجنليزية مبئات‬ ‫املرة‪ .‬ميكن للشخص العربي أن يتعلم‬ ‫اللغة اإلجنليزية بكل سهولة والعكس‬ ‫ليس صحيح‪.‬‬

‫لم قررت دﺧول عالم السوشيال ميديا؟‬ ‫منذ ثالث سنوات‪ ،‬قررت دخول عالم‬ ‫السوشيال ميديا من أجل أن أخرج‬ ‫الطاقة السلبية واالكتئاب بعد أن توفى‬ ‫والدي‪ .‬ولذلك قررت أن أشارك الناس‬ ‫وتذكير نفسي وتذكيرهم بأن يصبحوا‬ ‫إيجابيني‪.‬‬ ‫ما الذي ﳝيز محتواك عن غيرك؟‬ ‫أي أحد يستطيع أن يُقدم محتوى ولكن‬ ‫ليس مبقدور أي أحد أن يؤثر على‬ ‫الناس‪ .‬قدرتك على التأثير على الناس‬ ‫تأتي من القلب‪ .‬الفكرة هي القدرة‬ ‫على توصيل رسالة‪ .‬لم أبدأ من أجل‬ ‫الشهرة‪ ،‬يف احلقيقة أنا أكره الشهرة‪،‬‬ ‫ولكن أحب أن أوصل الرسالة وأن أغير‬ ‫حياة الناس لألفضل‪.‬‬ ‫كيف تﻔسر اﳋروج من منﻄقة الراحة؟‬ ‫الكثير من الناس تسيء فهم هذه املبدأ‪.‬‬ ‫يجب أن تخرج من منطقة راحتك دون‬ ‫أن تأذي نفسك‪ ،‬يجب أن تعرف حدود‬ ‫احتمالك وتقف عندها‪ ،‬يجب أن يكون‬ ‫هدفك منفعة دون مضرة‪ .‬وتذكر بأنه‬ ‫يجب عليك أن تخرج من أي مكان‬ ‫يؤثر على نفسيتك وصحتك العقلية‪.‬‬ ‫ألن مشاكل العمل هذه ستؤثر على‬ ‫استقرارية املنزل‪.‬‬ ‫ما هي أهم عالقة على اإلنسان‬ ‫اﶈافظة عليها؟‬ ‫أصدقاء يفرحون لك عند حتقيقك ملا‬ ‫تطمح له وأن يقفون معك عند وقوعك‬ ‫يف مشكلة‪.‬‬ ‫ما هو الﻔرق الذي الحظته يف‬ ‫اإلمارات؟‬ ‫اإلمارات أصبحت عاملية‪ ،‬الكثير من‬ ‫النجوم أصبحوا يختارون اإلمارات‬ ‫كمكان لالستثمار وقضاء إجازاتهم‪.‬‬ ‫أبوابها مفتوحة للجميع‪.‬‬

‫الموضة من وجهة نظره!‬ ‫موضة‪ ،‬قصص‪ ،‬والكثير من املعلومات الشيقة التي تخص املهرجانات واطالالت السجادة احلمراء يقدمها لنا‬ ‫أدهم الصيعري‪ ".‬املوضة هي شغفه‪ ،‬محتواه يتمتع باألناقة والرقي مع الكثير من املعلومات الشيقة"‪ .‬حنان‬ ‫يحيى مالزم يف مقابلة بدون فلتر مع أدهم الذي قدم الغير مألوف وجعله مألوف بأسلوبه اخلاص‪ .‬مقابلة‬ ‫حتمل الكثير من الشغف‪ ،‬االحالم واملثابرة وبكل تأكيد‪ ،‬مقابلة حتمل طعم النصر وإثبات النفس‪.‬‬ ‫حنان يحيى مالزم‬ ‫هل كنت ترغب بدراسة الهندسة من‬ ‫البداية؟‬ ‫ال‪ ،‬إال أنني اخترت مجال يُقال بأن له‬ ‫مستقبل‪ ،‬وهذه واحدة من األخطاء التي‬ ‫ارتكبتها‪ .‬ال تفكر أن تخصص ما سيؤمن‬ ‫لك مستقبلك‪ ،‬أنت من تصنع مستقبلك‬ ‫بنفسك‪ .‬كما قلت ِ‬ ‫لك‪ ،‬بعد التخرج‪ ،‬بدأت‬ ‫العمل كمصمم جرافيك‪ ،‬ومن ثم بدعم من‬ ‫أصدقائي‪ ،‬بدأت العمل على تصويرهم‬ ‫وتطوير مهارات التصوير اخلاصة بي‪،‬‬ ‫ومن ثم تواصلت مع الكثير من الشركات‬ ‫وتعاونت معهم من أجل مشاريع مختلفة‪.‬‬ ‫عملت على نفسي بنفسي وحرصت على‬ ‫أن أتعلم كل صغيرة وكبيرة يف عالم‬ ‫املوضة‪.‬‬ ‫رحلتك يف عالم املوضة؟‬ ‫كيف بدأت‬ ‫ِ‬ ‫يف احلقيقة‪ ،‬كنت يف دبي من أجل العمل‬ ‫مع إحدى العالمات التجارية على جلسة‬ ‫تصوير‪ ،‬ولكن املنسقة لم تكن ترغب‬ ‫بالعمل معي وطلبوا مني مغادرة االستوديو‬ ‫بسبب ذلك! نعم‪ ،‬كان األمر أشبه بصفعة‬ ‫على الوجه‪ ،‬ولكن‪ ،‬كان ً‬ ‫أيضا حتدي جديد‬ ‫أقبله‪ ،‬بدأت أكرس نفسي وكل ما أملك‬ ‫لدراسة املوضة بكل حرفية‪ ،‬سجلت‬ ‫نفسي بدورات‪ .‬ال أحد يعلم ما سيحدث‬ ‫يف املستقبل‪ ،‬ولكن‪ ،‬قد يجمعني عمل‬ ‫معها يف املستقبل‪ ،‬وسأنتظر ذلك اليوم‬ ‫الذي سأثبت للعالم بأني‪ ،‬أنا أدهم‪ ،‬شاب‬ ‫عربي متخصص باملوضة وأعرف كل‬ ‫ما يتعلق بعالم التصوير‪ .‬انتقامي يكون‬ ‫بإثبات جناحي‪.‬‬ ‫كنت تقدم محتواك باللغة اإلجنليزية‬ ‫ولكن أصبحت تقدمه باللغة العربية‪ ،‬ما‬ ‫السبب وراء هذا التغيير؟‬ ‫يف احلقيقة‪ ،‬عندما بدأت على التيك‬ ‫توك خالل فترة اإلغالق األولى‪ ،‬لم‬ ‫ً‬ ‫خجول‬ ‫أكن استهدف العرب‪ .‬كما كنت‬ ‫ج ًدا‪ ،‬فلم أستطيع حتى تصوير نفسي‪،‬‬ ‫وغال ًبا ما كنت أركب تعليق صوتي على‬ ‫املقطع باللغة اإلجنليزية‪ .‬ولكن‪ ،‬الحظت‬ ‫بأن احملتوى العربي على التيك توك له‬

‫جمهور كبير‪ ،‬ولم يكن لدينا نحن الشعب‬ ‫العربي هذا النوع من الثقافة‪ ،‬فبدأت‬ ‫بعدها بالتركيز على تقدمي محتوى باللغة‬ ‫العربية فقط‪ .‬بدأت أتعلم أكثر وأترجمها‬ ‫ملشاركتها مع املتابعني‪.‬‬ ‫شاركنا مبعلومة مثيرة لالهتمام عن‬ ‫إحدى العالمات التجارية؟‬ ‫كنت يف دبي مول ولفت انتباهي اللون‬ ‫الذي تستخدمه العالمة التجارية العاملية‬ ‫‪ .Hermès‬كانت كلها برتقالية‪ ،‬وتساءلت‬ ‫ملا عالمة جتارية فاخرة تستخدم لون‬ ‫صارخ كالبرتقالي؟ بعد أن قمت بالكثير‬ ‫من األبحاث‪ ،‬تبني أن خالل احلرب‬ ‫العاملية‪ ،‬لم يكن يتوفر أي لون آخر سوى‬ ‫اللون البرتقالي‪ ،‬ولذلك بدأت العالمة‬ ‫التجارية العاملية ‪ Hermès‬باستخدامه‪.‬‬ ‫ومن وقتها أصبح اللون الرسمي للعالمة‬ ‫التجارية‪.‬‬ ‫ناد ًرا ما نرى شاب عربي يتحدث عن‬ ‫املوضة‪ ،‬كيف كانت ردة فعل الناس؟‬ ‫يف البداية‪ ،‬تعرضت للكثير من التنمر‪،‬‬ ‫ولكن عندما بدأت بتزويدهم مبعلومات‬ ‫أصبحت الناس تتابعني بفضول أكبر‪.‬‬ ‫حتى أصبحت الناس تطلب مني أن أشرح‬ ‫لهم قصص مختلفة عن عالمات جتارية‬ ‫متنوعة‪ .‬لم أتخيل نفسي أصل إلى هذه‬ ‫املرحلة أب ًدا‪.‬‬ ‫لم برأيك كل صيحات املوضة تبدأ من‬ ‫العالم الغربي؟‬ ‫املوضة بدأت بالعالم الغربي‪ ،‬العرب لم‬ ‫يكن لديهم هذا املبدأ‪ .‬املوضة أصبحت‬ ‫ثقافة عندهم وانتقلت إلينا مع السفر‬ ‫واإلعالم‪.‬‬ ‫ملاذا برأيك يف عروض األزياء نشاهد‬ ‫أزياء مستحيل أن نرى أي شخص عادي‬ ‫يرتديها؟‬ ‫(يبتسم) يف احلقيقة‪ ،‬كنت على وشك‬ ‫تصوير مقطع يشرح هذه املعلومة‪ .‬من‬ ‫اسمه (عرض أزياء) أي هو مجرد عرض‬

‫لألزياء والغرض منه هو فقط لتقدمي‬ ‫مستوى اإلبداع الذي ميلكه املصمم‪.‬‬ ‫مصممو األزياء يعرفون أن الناس لن‬ ‫يرتدوا ما سيقدمونه‪ ،‬إال أنه إعالن ضخم‬ ‫بالنسبة لهم‪ .‬الكثير من القطع تذهب‬ ‫للمزادات وبعض املشاهير يشترون هذه‬ ‫القطع ً‬ ‫أيضا‪.‬‬ ‫الكثير من الناس انتقدت كايلي جينر‬ ‫بسبب ما ارتدته يف امليت غاال‪ ،‬ما رأيك؟‬ ‫يف احلقيقة‪ ،‬هناك قصة خلف اختيارها‬ ‫لهذا التصميم‪ ،‬حيث أن ما ارتدته كان‬ ‫فرجيل أبلوه‪ .‬ولكنها كانت حركة جريئة‬ ‫من كايلي حيث أن ما ارتدته لم يتناسب‬ ‫متا ًما مع فكرة امليت غاال لهذه السنة‪.‬‬ ‫ما هو هدفك يف احلياة؟‬ ‫هديف أن أدرس ‪Fashion Design‬‬ ‫وافتتاح عالمتي التجارية اخلاصة‪.‬‬ ‫ما هو موقف عائلتك؟‬ ‫اآلن‪ ،‬يدعموني طوال الوقت!‬ ‫وسابقً ا؟‬ ‫لم مينعوني‪ ،‬ولكنهم كانوا يسألوني «هل‬ ‫أنت متأكد؟» ولم يكونوا واثقني من‬ ‫خطوتي هذه‪ .‬إال أن والدتي أصبحت‬ ‫تشارك مقاطعي مع كل أصدقائها‪.‬‬ ‫املجتمع العربي ينظر إلى الشاب الذي‬ ‫يهتم مبظهره واملوضة بنظرة ليست‬ ‫متاما‪ ،‬هل واجهت هذا؟‬ ‫إيجابية ً‬ ‫وصلت إلى ما وصلت إليه اليوم بسبب‬ ‫دعم الناس من حولي‪ .‬أصبح الكثير‬ ‫من أصدقائي يشاركون صورهم معي‬ ‫من أجل أن أعطيهم املوافقة النهائية‬ ‫على اطالالتهم‪ .‬أما التعليقات السلبية‪،‬‬ ‫فستجدينها يف كل مكان‪.‬‬ ‫ما هو مبدئك يف املوضة؟‬ ‫لن أغصب أحد على ارتداء شيء ما‪ ،‬بل‬ ‫سأدلك على ما يُناسبك‪ ،‬وارتدائه أو ال‬ ‫هو قرار يعود لك‪.‬‬ ‫يونيو ‪ 2022‬فيلم فير الشرق األوسط ‪58‬‬

‫ﺳﺎﻧﻴﻮﺟﻴﺘﺎ وﺑﺮﻳﺜﻔﻴﺮاج ﻫﻲ ﻗﺼﺔ ﺣﺐ ﺧﺎﻟﺪة‪.‬‬ ‫ﻟﻘﺪ ﻗﺮأت ﻋﻨﻬﻢ ﻓﻲ ﺳﻠﺴﻠﺔ اﻟﻜﻮﻣﻴﺪﻳﺎ اﻟﻬﻨﺪﻳﺔ‬ ‫‪ Amar Chitra Katha‬ﻋﻨﺪﻣﺎ ﻛﻨﺖ ﻃﻔﻠﺔ‬ ‫وﻓﻲ اﻟﻮﻻﻳﺎت اﻟﻬﻨﺪﻳﺔ اﻟﻨﺎﻃﻘﺔ ﺑﺎﻟﻬﻨﺪﻳﺔ‪ ،‬ﺗﺤﻈﻰ‬ ‫ﻗﺼﺘﻬﻢ ﺑﺸﻌﺒﻴﺔ ﻓﻲ اﻟﺘﻘﺎﻟﻴﺪ اﻟﺸﻌﺒﻴﺔ ً‬ ‫أﻳﻀﺎ‪،‬‬ ‫ﻗﺼﺺ ﺳﻤﻌﺘﻬﺎ ﻣﻦ ﺟﺪﺗﻲ‪.‬‬ ‫ﻛﺎﺗﺐ وﻣﺨﺮج اﻟﻔﻴﻠﻢ اﻟﺪﻛﺘﻮر ﺷﺎﻧﺪرا ﺑﺮاﻛﺎش‬ ‫ﺗﺮﻳﻔﻴﺪي ﻫﻮ ً‬ ‫أﻳﻀﺎ ﻣﻤﺎرس ﻃﺒﻲ وﻟﺪﻳﻚ ﺧﻠﻔﻴﺔ‬ ‫ﻃﺒﻴﺔ ً‬ ‫أﻳﻀﺎ‪ .‬ﻛﻴﻒ ﻛﺎن اﻟﻌﻤﻞ ﻣﻌﻪ؟‬ ‫ﻛﺎن ﻳﺨﺒﺮﻧﻲ ﺑﺎﺳﺘﻤﺮار أﻧﻨﻲ ﻛﻨﺖ ﺗﻠﻤﻴﺬﺗﻪ‪،‬‬ ‫إﻧﻪ ﻃﺒﻴﺐ ﻣﻤﺎرس وﻟﻢ أﻛﻤﻞ درﺟﺘﻲ اﻟﻌﻠﻤﻴﺔ‪،‬‬ ‫ﻟﺬﻟﻚ ﻫﻨﺎك ﻓﺮق ﻛﺒﻴﺮ‪ .‬ﻟﻜﻨﻲ أﻧﺤﺪر ﻣﻦ ﻋﺎﺋﻠﺔ‬ ‫ﻣﻦ اﻷﻃﺒﺎء‪ .‬ﻧﺤﻦ ﻣﻦ ﺧﺎرج ﺻﻨﺎﻋﺔ اﻟﺴﻴﻨﻤﺎ‬ ‫وﻧﻬﺠﻨﺎ ﻓﻲ اﻷﻓﻼم ﻣﺨﺘﻠﻒ‪ .‬ﻟﻘﺪ ﺟﻌﻠﻨﻲ أﺷﻌﺮ‬ ‫ﺑﺎﻟﺮاﺣﺔ وﻛﺎن اﻟﻌﻤﻞ راﺋ ًﻌﺎ ﻣﻊ دﻛﺘﻮر ﺻﻌﺐ ﻛﻤﺎ‬ ‫اﻋﺘﺪﻧﺎ ﻋﻠﻰ اﻻﺗﺼﺎل ﺑﻪ‪ .‬ﻟﻘﺪ ﺗﻌﻠﻤﺖ اﻟﻜﺜﻴﺮ‬ ‫ﻣﻨﻪ‪ .‬ﺑﺤﺜﻪ ﻫﻮ ﻗﻮﺗﻪ‪ .‬ﻣﻦ اﻟﻬﻨﺪﺳﺔ اﻟﻤﻌﻤﺎرﻳﺔ‬ ‫ﻟﺘﻠﻚ اﻟﻔﺘﺮة إﻟﻰ اﻟﺤﺠﺎرة‪ ،‬واﻟﺮﻣﻞ ﻋﻠﻰ اﻷرض‬ ‫واﻟﺘﻔﺎﺻﻴﻞ اﻟﺼﻐﻴﺮة اﻟﺘﻲ ﻧﻔﺘﻘﺪﻫﺎ ﻋﺎد ًة‪ .‬ﺗﻠﻚ‬ ‫اﻟﺠﻬﻮد اﻟﺼﻐﻴﺮة اﻟﺘﻲ ﻳﺒﺬﻟﻬﺎ ﻓﻲ ﻋﻤﻠﻪ ﻏﻴﺮ‬ ‫ﻋﺎدﻳﺔ‪ .‬ﻳﺒﻨﻲ ﻗﺼﺘﻪ وﺷﺨﺼﻴﺎﺗﻪ ﺑﻨﺎ ًء ﻋﻠﻰ ﻫﺬه‬ ‫اﻟﺘﻔﺎﺻﻴﻞ وﻗﺪ ﺳﺎﻋﺪﺗﻨﻲ ﻃﺮﻳﻘﺔ ﻋﻤﻠﻪ ﻛﺜﻴ ًﺮا‪.‬‬ ‫واﺿﺤﺎ ﺟ ًﺪا ﺑﺸﺄن ﻛﻴﻒ ﺳﻴﻜﻮن‬ ‫ﻟﻘﺪ ﻛﺎن‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ﺳﺎﻧﻴﻮﺟﻴﺘﺎ اﻟﺨﺎص ﺑﻪ وﻟﻢ ﺗﻜﻦ اﻟﺸﺨﺼﻴﺔ ﺗﺘﻤﺘﻊ‬ ‫ﺑﺎﻟﻜﺜﻴﺮ ﻣﻦ اﻟﺤﺮﻳﺔ اﻹﺑﺪاﻋﻴﺔ‪ .‬ﻛﺎﻧﺖ ﺻﻌﺒﺔ‬ ‫وﻟﻜﻨﻬﺎ ﻣﺠﺰﻳﺔ ﻓﻲ ﻧﻔﺲ اﻟﻮﻗﺖ‪ .‬ﺟﻌﻠﻨﺎ ﻗﺮﻳﺒﻴﻦ‬ ‫واﻟﻴﻮم ﻫﻮ وزوﺟﺘﻪ واﺑﻨﺘﻪ أﺻﺒﺤﻮا ﻋﺎﺋﻠﺘﻲ‪.‬‬ ‫ﻣﺎ ﻛﺎﻧﺖ أﺳﺌﻠﺘﻚ ﻟﻪ ﻋﻦ اﻟﺸﺨﺼﻴﺔ؟‬ ‫ﻛﺎن اﻟﺪﻛﺘﻮر ﻳﻌﻤﻞ ﻓﻲ اﻟﻤﺸﺮوع ﻟﻔﺘﺮة ﻃﻮﻳﻠﺔ‬ ‫ﻟﺪرﺟﺔ أﻧﻨﻲ ﻟﻢ أﺿﻄﺮ أﺑ ًﺪا ﻟﻄﺮح اﻟﻌﺪﻳﺪ‬ ‫ﻣﻦ اﻷﺳﺌﻠﺔ ﻋﻠﻴﻪ‪ .‬ﻟﻘﺪ ﻣﺮت ﺛﻤﺎﻧﻴﺔ أﺷﻬﺮ ﺑﻴﻦ‬ ‫ﻗﺮاءة اﻟﺴﻴﻨﺎرﻳﻮ ﻷول ﻣﺮة ﺣﺘﻰ ﻳﺘﻢ ﺿﺒﻄﻪ‪.‬‬ ‫ﻛﺎن ﻟﺪي أﺳﺌﻠﺘﻲ اﻷﺳﺎﺳﻴﺔ ‪ -‬ﻋﺎدة ﻟﻤﺎذا‪.‬‬ ‫ﻟﻤﺎذا ﻛﺎن ﻋﻠﻴﻬﺎ أن ﺗﻘﻮل ذﻟﻚ‪ ،‬ﻟﻤﺎذا ﻓﻌﻠﺖ‬ ‫ﻫﺬا وﻣﺎ إﻟﻰ ذﻟﻚ‪ .‬ﻟﻢ أواﻓﻖ ﻋﻠﻰ اﻟﻜﺜﻴﺮ ﻣﻦ‬ ‫اﻷﺷﻴﺎء وﻟﻜﻨﻲ اﺳﺘﻨﺘﺠﺖ وﻓﻬﻤﺖ‪ .‬اﻟﻴﻮم ﻓﻲ‬ ‫ﻳﻮم وﻋﺼﺮ ﻣﻮاﻗﻊ اﻟﻤﻮاﻋﺪة ﺣﻴﺚ ﻳﻠﺘﻘﻲ اﻟﻨﺎس‬ ‫ﻣﻊ ﺑﻌﻀﻬﻢ اﻟﺒﻌﺾ ﺗﻘﺮﻳ ًﺒﺎ دون ﻟﻘﺎء ﺑﻌﻀﻬﻢ‬ ‫اﻟﺒﻌﺾ ﻓﻲ اﻟﻮﻗﺖ اﻟﻔﻌﻠﻲ‪ ،‬ﻳﺤﺪث اﻟﺤﺐ‪ .‬وﻗﻊ‬ ‫ﺳﺎﻧﻴﻮﺟﻴﺘﺎ وﺑﺮﻳﺜﻔﻴﺮاج ﻓﻲ اﻟﺤﺐ ﻣﻦ ﺧﻼل‬ ‫اﻟﻘﺼﺺ اﻟﺘﻲ ﻏﻨﺎﻫﺎ اﻟﺸﻌﺮاء أو اﻟﻠﻮﺣﺎت‬ ‫اﻟﺘﻲ رﺳﻤﻬﺎ اﻟﺮﺳﺎﻣﻮن أو اﻟﻘﺼﺎﺋﺪ اﻟﺘﻲ ُﻛﺘﺒﺖ‬ ‫ﻋﻨﻬﻤﺎ‪ .‬ﻟﻢ ﻳﻠﺘﻘﻴﺎ أو ﻳﺘﻮددا أﺑ ًﺪا‪ ،‬ﻟﻜﻨﻬﺎ ﻛﺎﻧﺖ‬ ‫ﻣﺴﺘﻌﺪة ﻟﻠﻬﺮوب ﻣﻌﻪ واﻟﺰواج ﻣﻨﻪ ﻣﺘﺤﺪﻳﺔ‬ ‫رﻏﺒﺎت واﻟﺪﻫﺎ‪ .‬ﻛﺎن ﻋﻠﻲ أن أﻗﻨﻊ ﻧﻔﺴﻲ أن‬ ‫أﺿﻊ ﻧﻔﺴﻲ ﻣﻜﺎﻧﻬﺎ‪ .‬ﻟﻜﻦ ﻫﺬا ﻣﺎ أﻋﺘﻘﺪه ﻫﻮ‬ ‫ﻛﻞ ﺷﻲء ﻋﻦ اﻟﺘﻤﺜﻴﻞ‪.‬‬

‫ﺗﺎﺑﺴﻲ ﺑﺎﻧﻮ‬ ‫ﻟﻘﺪ ﻣﺮ ﺑﻌﺾ اﻟﻮﻗﺖ ﻣﻨﺬ أن أﺷﺎرت اﻟﺸﺎﺋﻌﺎت إﻟﻰ وﺟﻮد إﻣﻜﺎﻧﻴﺔ‬ ‫اﻟﺘﻌﺎون ﺑﻴﻦ ﺷﺎروﺧﺎن واﻟﻤﺨﺮج راﺟﻜﻮﻣﺎر ﻫﻴﺮاﻧﻲ‪ .‬ﻗﺒﻞ أﻳﺎم ﻗﻠﻴﻠﺔ‬ ‫ﻓﻘﻂ ﺗﻢ ﺗﺄﻛﻴﺪ اﻟﺨﺒﺮ ﻣﻦ ﻗﺒﻞ ﺷﺎروﺧﺎن ﻧﻔﺴﻪ واﻟﻤﻔﺎﺟﺄة ﻛﺎﻧﺖ‬ ‫اﻧﻀﻤﺎم ﺗﺎﺑﺴﻲ ﺑﺎﻧﻮ‪ .‬ﻣﺜﻞ أي ﻣﻤﺜﻞ آﺧﺮ‪ ،‬ﺗﺎﺑﻌﺖ ﺗﺎﺑﺴﻲ ﺑﻤﺸﺎرﻛﺔ‬ ‫ﺣﻤﺎﺳﻬﺎ وﺳﻌﺎدﺗﻬﺎ ﻟﺘﻠﻘﻲ ﻣﺜﻞ ﻫﺬا اﻟﻤﺸﺮوع اﻟﻜﺒﻴﺮ‪ .‬ﺣﻮل اﻟﻌﻤﻞ‬ ‫ﻣﻊ اﻟﻨﺠﻢ ﺷﺎروﺧﺎن‪ ،‬ﻋﻠﻘﺖ ‪" ،‬ﻣﻊ ﺷﺎروﺧﺎن أﻛﺜﺮ ﻣﺎ ﻛﻨﺖ أﺗﻄﻠﻊ‬ ‫إﻟﻴﻪ ﻟﻘﻀﺎء اﻟﻮﻗﺖ ﺧﻠﻒ اﻟﺸﺎﺷﺔ ﻣﻌﻪ‪ ،‬ﺣﻴﺚ ﻳﻤﻜﻨﻨﻲ اﻟﺠﻠﻮس‬ ‫ﻣﻌﻪ واﻟﺘﺤﺪث إﻟﻴﻪ‪ ،‬ﻷﻧﻨﻲ أﺣﺐ ﺷﺨﺼﻴﺘﻪ ﻛﺜﻴ ًﺮا‪ .‬وﻛﺬﻟﻚ ‪-‬‬ ‫اﻟﺬﻛﺎء واﻟﻔﻜﺎﻫﺔ واﻟﺨﺒﺮة اﻟﺘﻲ ﻳﻤﺘﻠﻜﻬﺎ واﻟﺼﺪق اﻟﺬي ﻳﺮوي‬ ‫ﺑﻪ ﺗﺠﺎرﺑﻪ‪ .‬أردت أن أﺳﻤﻊ ﺗﻠﻚ اﻟﺘﺠﺎرب‬ ‫اﻟﺘﻲ ﻣﺮ ﺑﻬﺎ ﻓﻲ ﺗﻠﻚ اﻟﻌﻘﻮد اﻟﺘﻲ ﻛﻮن ﻓﻴﻬﺎ‬ ‫ﻣﺎ اﺑﺘﻜﺮه "‪.‬‬

‫ﻣﻬﻨﺔ ﺗﻮﻳﻨﻜﻞ ﺧﺎﻧﺎ ﻛﻤﻤﺜﻠﺔ وﻛﺎﺗﺒﺔ ﺑﺎرﻋﺔ ﻋﻠﻰ وﺷﻚ أن ﺗﺄﺧﺬ ﻣﻨﻌﻄﻔﺎ آﺧﺮ ﻣﺜﻴﺮ‬ ‫ﻟﻼﻫﺘﻤﺎم‪ .‬اﻟﻤﻤﺜﻠﺔ دﺧﻠﺖ اﻵن ﻋﺎﻟﻢ اﻹﻧﺘﺎج‬ ‫ﻟﻤﺸﺮوع ﺧﺎص ﺟﺪا‪ .‬ﻗﺼﺔ ﻗﺼﻴﺮة ﻣﻦ ﻛﺘﺎﺑﻬﺎ اﻷﻛﺜﺮ ﻣﺒﻴ ًﻌﺎ ﺑﻌﻨﻮان ‪The‬‬ ‫‪ Legend of Lakshmi Prasad‬ﺟﺎﻫﺰة ﻟﻴﺘﻢ ﺗﺼﻮرﻳﻬﺎ ﻟﻔﻴﻠﻢ‪ .‬اﻟﻔﻴﻠﻢ‬ ‫ﻣﻦ إﺧﺮاج اﻟﻤﺨﺮﺟﺔ ﺳﻮﻧﺎل داﺑﺮال‪ .‬ﺑﺎﻟﺤﺪﻳﺚ ﻋﻦ اﻟﻘﺼﺔ اﻟﺸﺨﺼﻴﺔ‪ ،‬ﻗﺎﻟﺖ‪،‬‬ ‫" ‪ ،Salaam Noni Appa‬ﻣﻦ ﻛﺘﺎﺑﻲ اﻟﺜﺎﻧﻲ‪ ،‬اﻟﺬي ﻳﺴﺘﻨﺪ ﺑﺸﻜﻞ ﻣﺎ‬ ‫ﻋﻠﻰ اﻟﻌﻼﻗﺔ ﺑﻴﻦ ﺟﺪﺗﻲ وأﺧﺘﻬﺎ‪ ،‬ﺗﻢ ﺗﻘﺪﻳﻤﻪ ﻷول ﻣﺮة ﻓﻲ ﻣﺴﺮﺣﻴﺔ ﺟﻤﻴﻠﺔ‪".‬‬ ‫اﻧﺘﻘﻠﺖ إﻟﻰ وﺳﺎﺋﻞ اﻟﺘﻮاﺻﻞ اﻻﺟﺘﻤﺎﻋﻲ ﻟﻺﻋﻼن ﻋﻦ اﻟﻔﻴﻠﻢ اﻟﺬي ﺳﺘﻌﻤﻞ‬ ‫ﻓﻴﻪ ﻛﻤﻨﺘﺠﺔ ﻋﺒﺮ ‪ Mrs. Funnybones Movies‬ﻣﻊ ‪Ellipsis‬‬ ‫‪ Entertainment‬وﺑﺎﻟﺸﺮاﻛﺔ ﻣﻊ ‪.Applause Entertainment‬‬

‫ﺗﺎﻳﺠﺮ ﺷﺮوف ﻳﺮﻳﺪ اﻟﺪﺧﻮل إﻟﻰ ﻋﺎﻟﻢ ﻫﻮﻟﻴﻮود‬
