Sustainable development once considered an environmental issue, has earned its place in mainstream thinking and policy-making as anoverarching concept alongside


the economy, poverty reduction or global health. Today, schoolchildren learn how to recycle, corporate social responsibility is essential, whole new green business models are evolving, governments promote alternative energy, consumer goods get green certificates , etc.Society is finding a new balance and economies now embrace smart, sustainable and inclusive growth as the model ensuring future well-being for everyone. The project Green Skills for Global Change was conceived to: 1. develop an open-mindedness and interest in other cultures 2.

helpstudents become aware of local problems and find common global solutions

3.

improve communicative competences through different foreign languages

4.

create a feeling of active citizenship and social cohesion

5.

equip thestudentswith knowledge, skills and attitudesaccording to the recommenation of European institutions on competences for lifelong learning

6. provide a basis for further learning and working life 7. enable the students tobecome flexible to change in the developing Europe.

4. What worked well in the meeting ? (answers) • organization • the understanding among the teachers that we didn’t have the first meeting, and therefor everything concerning the students work programme a little unclear. • the contacts between the students, the contacts between the teachers • the visit to a farm with students • activities with students. teachers activities. • the cultural and thematic visits. good relationship between students. rich exchanges between teachers which allowed to know us and our country better.. • students attitude in general • meals, transportation, cultural programme, 5. Express your suggestions in order to improve the next meeting (answers) • a better collaboration among participants • make clear agreements with each other and stick to these agreements, there has to be set a long term target/goal and everybody should keep that in mind for all the next meetings. • to be more clear, improving a lot the communication between coordinating teachers, do not take important decision without taking other partner and schools into account, as it is happening to Spanish school. • everything was perfect in Portugal; but there could have been some activities in which the students could do something together. • more meetings with teachers about the progress and (daily) evaluations. more group work with students at school, better/more


direct communication with the partners.
