FILTRA Inc. was founded in 2001 to promote an increase in the exchange of products and services between the Philippines and Denmark in order to highlight each country’s strengths and reduce business uncertainties. Many of the initiatives undertaken by FILTRA Inc. have over the years matured into seperate independently registered joint-venture companies with various business partners, and FILTRA Inc. has established itself as an active incubator of new companies which are established, often after an initial period where the business ideas have been developed as divisions under FILTRA Inc. The FILTRA Group thus consists of a number of divisions, as well as joint-venture companies, who all share a number of common resources and services.

The FILTRA name is an acronym for for “Filippinerne” (“The Philippines” in Danish) and “Trading”. The name also conveys our objective of serving as an international and cultural “filter” between our Asian and European customers and suppliers, ensuring a mutual experience of high quality in both products and services, and in the process eliminating business uncertainties.

Our FILTRA Group logo took inspiration in the steady growth we have seen since the establishment of FILTRA Inc. In 2001. The synergies between the various companies and divisions have helped to achieve common goals, and can be seen from the illustration above, it is the combined effect of the individual units that assures the continued growth of the group.

The income generated is a mix of products, services and commission income, and yields an average gross profit of currently about 60%.

These are the main ingredients in the FILTRA Group’s business areas. Philippine creativity coupled with the Danish design tradition has proven to be a winning combination, which results in innovative solutions in the products and services we offer to our European as well as Philippine customers.

We expect the growth to continue at an increased pace, and the growth is also seen in the number of employees that has gone from just 3 in 2001, and 20 in 2004 to almost 60 people in 2008.

IdéWood is a division under Filtra Inc., and has itself a number of subdivisions: IdéWood Production, which is in charge of product development and production, inhouse in our own workshop as well as outsourced production. Its main products are flooring, worktops, outdoor furniture and kitchen accessories. We service external as well as group/division requirements. IdéWood Trading, which acts as the buyer’s representative for a number of leading International timber importers. IdéWood has its quality inspectors in the sawmills and factories where we assure the quality and respect of contract terms. The main products are door, window, and furniture components

IdéWood develops products for external customers as well as our own brands. Our main export products are door and window components, bench parts and flooring products. We likewise develop, produce, and export garden furniture, toys and games, as well as various kitchen and home accessories.

Gastro Chef is a series of mainly wood based kitchen accesories and lifestyle products, and is the first of Idéwood’s own developed brands that has been seperated into a company of it’s own, with third party capital infusion. Established 2008.

The brand caters to wholesalers, retail, as well as the professional markets both locally and for export.

Gastro Chef products are widely used as corporate gifts and distributed in gift shops as well as lifestyle retail outlets.

GastroChef offers a series of Danish-designed and Philippine-crafted products for kitchen and dining, made for lovers of a gastronomical experience.

The product line is being exported to a growing number of countries.

Synergies for the rest of the group: Gastro Chef is a main customer at IdéWood’s production division, and shares the experience of the retail and corporate market with Scandinavia Trend. Also a supplier to Langhoff

ScandWood represents a lifestyle that is laid-back, relaxed, and attuned to the environment. We wish to create an atmosphere of natural living that is based on our Scandinavian design techniques and close attention to quality and functionality

ScandWood is a division under Filtra Inc., and is primarily involved in import, sale and distribution of wood based products through Home Depots /DIY stores and furniture shops, Scandwood also supplies direct to the project market, hotels and resturants through architects, and contractors.

Graphic Studio is a division of the 50% owned Langhoff Promotion Inc., joint-venture company which was established in 2005. Graphic Studio is a spin-off from the web design department of Philscan in 2001. Now, it is an independent division under the Filtra Group with a comprehensive offshore customer base, mostly from Scandinavia and and the rest of Europe. Philscan has furthermore established itself as a business process outsourcing partner for international customers with a need for dedicated staff in various capacities such as:
