POINT OF VIEW

MARTIN DE GRAAFF

FIM Europe President

It’s strange for me to write the last Point of View in our FIM Europe Magazine, after four years as President and eight years as Deputy President. A beautiful period with good experiences and during the last few years with all troubles around the pandemic and the last months with the terrible war in Ukraine.

After two years with a lot of restrictions in the sporting calendars, this season activities are well-planned. A busy program for all involved people and federations, full calendars, many participants in most events and beautiful races. Occasionally, a new start for many riders and organizers. Motorcycling in general seems to be more popular than ever.

The FIM Europe Congress in Bucharest will be important after two years without delegates from Federations. Luckily, we could organize two General Assemblies within FIM Congresses: this shows the real idea of the possibilities inside our FIM Family. Thank you to the FRM – the Romanian Federation – for the commitment and the efforts. Many Federations will show up at this occasion to meet each other and to elect the President and the Management Council for the next period of four years.

I can look back to a very positive time with many friends in this family. Thanks to all commissions’ members, organizers and Federations, promoters and stakeholders, colleagues from FIM and FIM Europe. Thanks to the staff of FIM Europe in Fiumicino: the Management Council was able to be in good contact with all involved partners and riders. You have done a great job. I’m sure that the work will go on with the new Management Council and my successor.

Good luck to all of you!

Thank you!
