ROUND #01 11TH - 12TH JUNE JULBACH, AUSTRIA
In perfect weather condition with summer temperatures, the city of Julbach, Austria, welcomed the Hill Climb European Championship. In the first heat, French rider Jean Luc David with his Honda CBR1000RR (Superbike class) was very close to a new track record (1:05.489) In the second run, the difference between the winner and the second (Andreas Gangl) was only 0.01 seconds, again in favor of the French. Among the men, Alice Sabatini was the only one woman in the SuperMoto class. She finished third in the first heat and fourth in the event Italian rider Giudo Testoni. In the SSP600 Mauro Poncini improved in the second heat, but that was not enough to catch up with the well-disposed Maurizio Bottalico.
