Welcome to Findhorn Consciously stepping into the new

Starting with our brochure! Fresh and alive, saving paper, saving trees. The change to a new format and smaller size is just one of the many ways through which the Findhorn Foundation and community is co-creating a more positive and sustainable future for people and planet. Another is through our web-streaming initiative, Findhorn Live, which is growing in popularity. Delighted that we now have the technology to share our work with more people all over the world and help reduce the carbon footprint on the planet by offering an alternative to travel, we plan on continuing to expand our web-streaming schedule for 2014 and beyond. Information will be posted on our website as it becomes available, but if you are particularly interested in connecting with Findhorn in this way, email us at findhorn.live@findhorn.org and we will keep you updated as new streaming events are planned. Our 2014 brochure is packed full with an inspiring schedule of programmes, workshops and events. Whether you are considering a first-time visit or want to return to renew your connection, you will find the programmes that make Findhorn a unique place to experience your 2

relationship to yourself, to others, to nature and the earth, and to the sacred. Starting with Experience Week, our Essential Findhorn programmes offer opportunities for grounded, everyday insights and practice. We look forward to welcoming back Michael Roads, Robert Holden and Caroline Myss and to gathering with open minds and hearts for this year’s major conference: New Story Summit – Inspiring Pathways for our Planetary Future. Opportunities to celebrate creativity and wellbeing include a second incarnation of EarthSings, and our annual highlight, Festival of Sacred Dance, Music and Song. Wherever you are on the planet, we welcome you, in person or via the internet, as our honoured guest, part of a global community, to take a conscious step with us in the co-creation of a new world. With love and blessings,

Sandra Mitchell

MINIMISING OUR ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT

Encouraged by achieving one of the lowest eco footprints ever measured in the industrialised world, we continue to find new ways to further reduce our environmental impact. FINDHORN FOUNDATION COMMUNITY The Findhorn Foundation and Community works in co-creation with the intelligence of nature to awaken the highest in human potential. All who engage here, residents and visitors, find an environment to foster profound personal change, seed new ideas and birth practical and positive responses to the challenges and opportunities of our times. Experiencing life at Findhorn is the perfect way to learn about wholeness, integrity, purpose, leadership, love, beauty, co-creation, communication, joy and service. We pioneer a holistic approach to sustainability that integrates four aspects – spiritual, social, environmental and economic. By developing not just the externals of sustainability such as ecohousing, ecological sewage treatment and renewable energy, but also addressing the inner life of human beings and giving people an opportunity to experience being part of an interconnected web of life, the 4

Foundation has become a unique centre for learning and a valuable and potent force for change. Our holistic approach to sustainability is demonstrated in our three main areas of activity: spiritual community; ecovillage; learning centre. Community life provides the spiritual and social framework of sustainability upon which our ecovillage and economic activities are woven. The Foundation financially depends upon sharing our learning with others through our guest programme of workshops and events. We offer a transformative environment where new ways of thinking and being in the world have space to grow, and where learning takes place naturally through ordinary activities in daily life. Practising community values for a month, a week, or even a day can often lead to changes that increase selfesteem, promote healthy relationships, give a sense of empowerment and can

encourage leadership. Our activities give rise to further new projects, systems and structures that support and sustain humans and our environment. The Findhorn Foundation is a founding member of the Global Ecovillage Network, New Findhorn Association, Park Ecovillage Trust, Ekopia Resource Exchange, CIFAL Scotland, and several other initiatives. The Findhorn Foundation currently has 120 members of staff and is part of a growing community of more than 500 people in the local area who support and practise spiritual and sustainable values, including small businesses and charities primarily working in education, the environment, healing and the arts. We are proud of our pioneering role and look forward to continuing as a seed centre, catalysing and demonstrating effective change, and to helping to co-create a positive future for humanity and the planet.

F indhorn E covillage – Remember, if it's not fun, it's not sustainable Ecovillages are models of environmental, social, economic and spiritual sustainability and provide an enhanced quality of life for all. Ecovillage communities are cohesive social structures, united by common social and/or spiritual values. Working with the simple principle of not taking more away from the Earth than one gives back, ecovillages are consciously diminishing their ecological footprint. For over 50 years we have been exploring alternative ways of living and have developed many unique systems. Here you can find some of what makes Findhorn special.

Findhorn Foundation’s Contribution to the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development The overall goal of the United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (DESD) is to integrate the principles, values and practices of sustainable development into all aspects of learning, Our official contribution to the main learning goals of the UN DESD since its launch in 2005 is Applied Ecovillage Living (the new name for a programme now in it’s 16th year). This programme provides an ideal learning environment where the social, ecological, economic and worldview aspects of sustainability meet in an integrated whole. The Findhorn Foundation is an NGO Associated with the Department of Public Information of the United Nations and is regularly represented in UN Briefing sessions. 6

Boutique – the trendsetter The Boutique is a great place to exchange stuff, from clothes to books to TVs. When you have things you no longer need, you can leave them here and someone else who is in need can take them. In this way we can share resources and reduce what ends up in landfill.

Our New Guest Lodge We are delighted to present to you our new guest lodge Clearwater. Built to even higher ecological and aesthetic standards as was done for our ecomobile staff accommodation, this newest guest lodge is fully accessible, all bedrooms are en-suite and it is furnished beautifully.

Generating Positive Energy Our four community-owned wind turbines, which have a total capacity of 750kW, supply more than 100% of the community's electricity needs. Our system is unusual in that the community owns its own private electricity grid, making it possible for us to be net exporters of electricity. Green electricity generation is one of our successful community businesses.

Reducing the Ecological Footprint Even Further We are committed to continuing to find new ways to become an even more eco-friendly community than we currently are. As part of this commitment, we experimented this year with changing the brochure format. By resizing it to A5 from A4 and printing fewer copies than past years, we saved 25kg of paper. We also introduced a new e-brochure format that enables you to flip through the brochure on your computer screen. To sign up for this e-brochure, please email us at lesspaper@findhorn.org Breaking new ground when it was launched, our web-streaming initiative Findhorn Live enables people from all over the world to participate in some of our exciting workshops and events without having to travel. If you are particularly interested in connecting with Findhorn in this way, email us at findhorn.live@findhorn.org and we will keep you updated as new streaming events are planned.

Findhorn wins the Kindred Spirit Award! We are thrilled to announce that the Findhorn Foundation and Community has won the 2013 Kindred Spirit Award in the Retreat/Healing Centre category. This is the second time running that we have won the Kindred Spirit readers award and it is a delight to have our work acknowledged in this way. We so much appreciate the support we receive from so many people all around the world and are very grateful to all those who took the time to vote for us. For those not familiar with it, Kindred Spirit magazine has been sharing spiritual wisdom for 25 years and is the UK’s leading magazine for positive change. The Kindred Spirit Awards celebrate the people and places, throughout Europe, that make a difference to individuals' lives. The Retreat/Healing Centre category was set up to recognise those running spiritual sanctuaries. We are happy and proud to have won this award as it encourages us in our continued forward movement as a centre of love and light. 7

ESSENTIAL FINDHORN PROGRAMMES These programmes are unique to Findhorn. While you are here you are part of a learning community, having a chance to do things differently and to put your insights and deeper values into everyday action. You can connect with your own inspiration, with the people around you, and with the intelligence of nature, to find new skills and abilities for a more meaningful, holistic and sustainable life. When you participate in Cluny Kitchen, Park Garden, Cluny Homecare or any of our other departments, all tasks, from cooking the lunch, planting seeds or cleaning the floor, are valued and essential parts of the whole. There is the potential for learning to take place 24 hours a day and with every person and situation you meet, as well as within the traditional setting of workshops and events. Founding principles The founding principles of Findhorn are very much alive and practised today. Inner listening and attunement are integral 8

parts of our daily life and there is time set aside before, during and after the working day to attune. We have four meditation sanctuaries in The Park and one at Cluny Hill, and there are many other ways to connect with your own inner wisdom, including dancing, playing, singing, walking and being in nature. The gardens at The Park and Cluny Hill reflect our delight in co-creating with nature, and they are nourishing and beautiful environments. At Cullerne Gardens we grow organic, seasonal food for our kitchens. The beautiful unspoiled coastal landscape of the Moray Firth provides further inspiration for discovering a closer relationship with the natural world.

Inspired action is a commitment to open and honest interactions, working together, growing organic food, building ecohouses, running businesses, erecting wind turbines, recycling, meditating, exploring alternative economic systems, and interacting with our visitors. The Findhorn ecovillage is a built environment in harmony with people

and our planet. We interact with the tools we use, with the landscape, with each other, and with our own inner wisdom in a conscious and attuned way, knowing that our small actions are interconnected and are important for the future of humanity and our planet. Essential Findhorn begins with Experience Week and continues on a journey of selfdiscovery and inspired activity. Elements of these unique Essential Findhorn programmes can also be found in all our other workshops and events.

Experience Week For Experience Week dates please see calendar on pages 30 - 33. These are seven days that can change your life and your world. Exploring Community Life Exploring Community Life (ECL) is a great way to broaden your understanding. For Exploring Community Life dates please see calendar on pages 30 - 33. Exploring Community Life (ECL) is a great way to broaden your understanding of the community or to give you time and space to integrate your experience of Findhorn after participating in another workshop. You may also find this to be an attractive option for coming back to visit and reconnect with the community. There is less emphasis on a group experience than in an Experience Week, and you are more integrated into the life and daily rhythms of the community. The group size is generally smaller and the programme may run even for one person. It includes participation in a service department to become more familiar with our guiding principle of ‘love in action’.There are also sharings, and the possibilities of a group project, a nature outing and if there is interest, a taste of the Transformation Game. Evenings provide opportunities

to join in with community activities and explore different aspects of living here, which may include spiritual and personal development, creative arts and sustainable living. If you are thinking about a longer term commitment to staying at Findhorn, ECL is an option that can give you a good sense of what it is like to live here. It also serves as a prerequisite for joining some of our further Essential Findhorn programmes such as the Living in Community Guest Programme and Living Essentials Apprentice Programme. Income related price: £720 / £560 / £460 Experience Week prerequisite

"I wanted a way of reconnecting with Findhorn after a long absence and this provided it well, with activities and free time to find my own way of interacting with the community."

Spiritual Practice 1 - 7 March, 12 - 18 July, 25 - 31 October Space for you to explore and connect with your innermost self. Spiritual Practice supports you to continue a path of transformation and growth in your everyday life. It gives you time to explore meditation, different kinds of exercises and to approach ordinary activities in a new way that encourages space for creativity and laughter. All this is spiritual practice. We look at what supports or may sabotage you deepening your practice. There are daily sessions together and afternoons are in Foundation service departments to integrate practical life with your spiritual practice. The week is less of a group experience than in an Experience Week and you are more integrated into the life and rhythms of the community. The group is generally smaller. There is time to take part in community meditations and events, and one day is spent in silence as an opportunity to deepen your inner experience. These elements are also part of the Special Spiritual Practice Weeks. 14

If you are thinking about a longer term commitment to staying at Findhorn, Spiritual Practice is an option that can give you a good sense of what it is like to live here. It also serves as a prerequisite for joining some of our further Essential Findhorn programmes such as the Living in Community Guest Programme and Living Essentials Apprentice Programme. Special Spiritual Practice Weeks Permaculture 29 March - 4 April, 20 - 26 September Craig Gibsone We use Permaculture principles to look at how we live our lives day to day, and to connect with the wisdom of the Earth and ourselves. This ecological design system can inspire and empower us to create and find answers within us.

on a deep peace: the peace of knowing you are part of the whole. We will work with that connection in a meditative and practical way. Our playground is Craig's beautiful semi-wild permaculture garden. Together we meditate, listen, connect, harvest and prepare with awareness and thus make delicious wild soups and salads as well as effective herbal remedies.

Nature 19 - 25 April, 28 June - 4 July, 19 - 25 July Katharina Brocke An introduction to the subtle dimensions of the Earth. We practise attunement to the loving intelligence within the nature kingdom in the Findhorn way. Through a combination of exercises in perception, attunement and meditation, as well as making a flower essence and working in the garden, we move closer to the beauty and uniqueness of our own soul.

Energy Healing 30 August - 5 September Maria Olsthoorn Together we will explore the mystery of Energy Healing. You will learn about the human aura and the psycho-dynamics of the seven chakras. We will work with the subtle realms, explore guidance and intuition and learn some basic yet powerful tools that can improve health and well being.

Herbs and Wild Foods 14 - 20 June Craig Gibsone, Eveline Rodenburg When you connect to nature you touch

Living Intuitively 6 - 12 September Nadasree Georgete Gadas We know everything we need to know at any given moment. This is a journey of discovery as well as confirmation of our

intuitive abilities. We will do exercises to develop our sensitivity and subtle perception, and use diverse meditation practices that enhance our inner connection and deeper listening to our own wisdom. We practise ways of bringing this enhanced sensitivity into our day-to-day living in the world. Clay 1 - 7 November Craig Gibsone With the landscape of Findhorn Bay and the surrounding coastline as an inspiration for our week, we journey with the four elements - earth, air, fire and water - using the medium of clay to focus and centre ourselves, and to create spiritual alchemy. Clay is a magical and primal substance that comes alive and takes form, bringing us a sense of co-creating with the spiritual dimension of all things. Included is time for reflection and insight that can be used to strengthen your inner commitment to a spiritual life.

Applied Ecovillage Living 8 February - 7 March Craig Gibsone, Gabrielle Haworth Hamm Drawing on the expertise of the Findhorn Ecovillage and incorporating Permaculture design, this month-long programme gives you the tools needed for creating sustainable human settlements. The increasingly urgent global need for viable, sustainable human settlements is met by the ecovillage model for living. Ecovillages provide environmental, social, economic and spiritual sustainability, and an enhanced quality of life for all. Working with the simple principle of not taking more away from the Earth than we give back, ecovillages are consciously diminishing their ecological footprint. The principles of an ecovillage apply equally to urban and rural settings, to both developing and overdeveloped countries. Applied Ecovillage Living provides a practical forum for learning and for developing action plans. It draws on the experience and expertise developed

within the Findhorn Ecovillage over the past 50 years, as well as on other local and international initiatives. "It has really helped me understand how Eco communities work and how Permaculture affects us all." 17

Living in Community Guest Programme (LCG) Starts every Saturday except 4 January, 27 September, 20 December Explore living in the Findhorn community for a month or more by joining the Living in Community Guest (LCG) Programme. This is a dynamic, creative and purposeful way to explore the meaning of service and to experience the gifts that come through living in community. Sharing all aspects of life in this vibrant environment opens the space for you to deepen your relationship with yourself, with God, with people, and nature – creating an ever more meaningful experience of life. The programme is available in four-week segments, starting most Saturdays. It begins with clarifying your individual purpose and ends with a personal review to support you in integrating your experiences and to explore your next steps. Using the process of attunement you join the team of one of our service departments (gardens, kitchens, dining room, homecare or maintenance) where you can deepen your experience of love in action, and the awareness, joy and 18

freedom that arise from serving in this way. When you want to join LCG for the first time or are returning to do the LCG Programme after several months or years, you need to participate in either Exploring Community Life, Spiritual Practice or one of our Service Weeks as a prerequisite. You can also apply after having taken part in one of our longer-term programmes (Learning English in Community, Applied Ecovillage Living or Spiritual Deepening). The prerequisite programme can be done any time within three months prior to joining LCG. We will invite you for an intake interview and an attunement. Please be aware that participation in LCG cannot be booked and is not guaranteed in advance. LCG is also a necessary step towards making a longer commitment to the Findhorn Foundation through the Living Essentials Apprentice Programme. Spiritual Deepening - Living from Purpose and Soul 8 March - 30 May This programme is a 12-week long core journey to deeply engage with your own inner wisdom, and to come alive in a new way, weaving fresh insights into daily community life and your ordinary experience. It's an opportunity to practise sustainability on all levels. If you are in a time of change or wanting a supportive and stimulating environment in which to look at current life choices or go deeper in your inner connection, Spiritual Deepening offers you powerful experiential learning that can become a framework for life. It is a heartopening process during which you can discover more of what has touched you previously here in the Findhorn Foundation. You receive the best that Findhorn has to offer by engaging with long-term members of the community for input on topics like the founding principles of Findhorn, character styles, conscious group dynamics, communication skills and more. It is experiential learning that includes spiritual practice through service and love in action.

Integration time includes a silent day every week as well as a 4-day silent retreat, a week on the island of Erraid, ritual, spiritual mentoring and reviews of your personal purpose and inner process. By engaging with your Spiritual Deepening group, and being part of the Findhorn Foundation community, you can strengthen your sense of inner direction and explore the inner and outer qualities of leadership.

Income related price: £4550 / £3950 / £3450 Experience Week plus either Exploring Community Life or a Spiritual Practice Week are prerequisite.

If you are intending to live within or around the community, Spiritual Deepening can serve as a step on the path to a deeper experience of the Findhorn Foundation, and to participation in the Living Essentials Apprentice Programme. Living Essentials Apprentice Programme (LEAP) An agreement to serve. LEAP is our staff intake programme where you learn the ways in which we live together here at Findhorn. We welcome you to come and contribute your own unique gifts and skills, so that together we can co-create a more loving and sustainable world. Applications will be considered through a process of attunement, and are subject to the needs of service departments and availability of living space at the time of your application. If accepted onto LEAP, you engage with the joys and challenges of daily life in a spiritual community and ecovillage. We invite you to join in the practice of being present in every task and interaction, and to choose to live everyday life as a spiritual path, based on our core spiritual principles of inner listening, love in action and co-creation with nature. You join in a service department, participate in community meetings, engage in spiritual and personal development, and have regular reviews. We ask you to commit to participating fully, including some weekends, and we will provide you with food, basic 20

accommodation and a supportive learning environment. If accepted onto LEAP, you spend two to six months as a short-term apprentice. After a review, if you then wish to make a longer commitment (six months up to a year) you can become a long-term apprentice. This begins with five days of intense learning – a deeper induction into our principles and practices. These inductions are scheduled twice a year. Thereafter you continue to meet with your peer group once a week, and once a month we provide two to three days of continued learning in the Findhorn ways. Finally, to help you reflect on and integrate your learning experience, you are provided with a personal mentor. Apprenticeship is a commitment to serve this centre and its purpose in the world. It is the pathway towards becoming a member of staff of the Findhorn Foundation. It is equally valid as a pathway along which to gain the skills and awareness that will equip you to be a world server and leader wherever else your passion may lead you.

We welcome you to take this leap and come and live the soul of service with us. We welcome applications for this programme all year round. Currently we are renewing LEAP and ask you to please see our website or contact leap@findhorn.org for more information. Prerequisite: Experience Week plus three months of the Living in Community Guest Programme.

Findhorn Intensive - A 12-Month Modular Programme Residential weeks for this programme: 6 September 2014, 29 November 2014, 7 February 2015, 18 April 2015, 27 June 2015

The group journey is an opportunity to be lovingly held, supported, challenged and encouraged while you reflect and engage with your life more deeply.

This year-long enquiry explores what it really means to live Findhorn principles in everyday life. You spend five residential weeks here, with peer group support and individual mentoring at home, inbetween times.

During our residential weeks, we come together and create an environment in which to enquire, discover and practise. We draw on Findhorn's mystery school approach, as well as our individual and collective practices and wisdom. We explore the frameworks of Incarnational Spirituality and Process Oriented Psychology to help us understand and practise living our lives consciously. Steered by the groups' particular interests, we draw on the experience and inspiration of Findhorn to engage in new possibilities for sustainability in the areas of spirituality, creativity, ecology, culture and economy.

If you have been touched by Findhorn and want to bring this experience more fully into your everyday life, we invite you on this heartopening journey. In it, you will: • deepen and strengthen your connection with your inner self, while engaging with the challenges and rigours of daily life • open to new possibilities for living relationships, and engaging creatively with all that surrounds you • discover healthy ways to bring your unique contribution to the world, positively adding to the ecology of life

The Findhorn Intensive supports you to find ways to open to your own intuition and spiritual connection, to attune to the world around you, and to realise new possibilities of relating and co-creating with other people, nature, and life in all aspects. It invites you to reassess your life, find greater fulfillment and bring more love into our world. For comprehensive information on the themes and particulars of the programme, as well as how to apply, please visit www.findhorn.org/intensive Income related price: £3450 / £2850 / £2350 Experience week prerequisite

When you are back home, in between these weeks, you continue to deepen, ground and apply the learning. Regular peer group meetings, a mentor, practices and resource materials support you in this.

Reaching Out Building Bridges The Building Bridges team continues to make the Findhorn Community accessible to an ever-broadening spectrum of people and organisations. We provide opportunities for positive change to people in diverse circumstances through the heartopening living and learning experiences offered here at the Foundation. Our two main sites, The Park and Cluny Hill, provide a rich, interactive environment for experiential learning. We offer short tastes of the Findhorn magic through our A Great Day Out programme, and tailored residential (or non-residential) experiences

for groups wanting to learn from our 50 years of community building. Both of these options are available to groups. Our main areas of work include: • School groups • Disadvantaged young people • Adults with learning disabilities • Events for business, NGO and charity professionals • Tailored visits for private groups Our range of learning options include building self-confidence and social skills, spiritual practice, team building, discovery games, learning about permaculture and renewable energy, co-creation with nature, group projects in the garden and building sustainable community. Welcoming Diversity The Building Bridges team is currently running the fifth Youth Empowerment Programme (YEP) for disadvantaged young people from the local area, with our partners Action for Children and Moray Council.

28

This programme brings young people aged between 16 and 21 to the Foundation, three days a week for three months. They experience a variety of new activities including basic farm work and gardening, cooking, movement exercises, music making, time in nature, discovery games, communication workshops, learning survival skills and much more. Participants build trust, grow in selfconfidence, learn about social responsibility, work together as a team and find their own voice. Further YEP programmes are planned for 2014. Building Bridges has also established a new learning stream called the Findhorn CoAbility Project to bring people with diverse

abilities together in our community. This project aims to focus on the many positive elements adults with learning disabilities bring to our communities, and provides a safe platform for participants to develop their potential and offer their gifts to those around them. We also offer an annual four-day programme where people from businesses, NGOs and charities who are interested in exploring issues related to sustainability, meet themselves, meet Findhorn and meet each other (by invitation only, please email building.bridges@findhorn.org if you would like to be considered). In addition, we create bespoke experiences for teams of professionals from a variety of organisations. We look forward to welcoming you. For a full menu of activities we offer, visit www.findhorn.org/group-visits or email us at building.bridges@findhorn.org

"Findhorn gave me the space to think about the bigger questions I don’t have time for day to day and led to important insights into what I need to go ahead."

Special Events 2014 EarthSings 2014 - Singing for Unity and Wellbeing 12 - 18 April

Presenters include: Kathy Bullock, an incredible teacher and performer, has the ability to inspire and motivate people. She returns to again share from the African-American tradition. Nana Mzhavanadze has a gentle and enabling teaching style, sharing Georgian Harmony singing in the traditional way – developing the ‘musical ear’ and without sheet music. Fiona Mackenzie, one of Scotland’s most distinctive singer-songwriters, will teach Gaelic song and perform with the Scottish Gaelic singing quartet Cruinn. Girish, an artist with roots in jazz, world and sacred music, will share Kirtan singing from India and perform a concert featuring his eclectic approach to sacred music.

The Findhorn Foundation and Community have an enduring commitment to singing as a path of healing, celebration and union through spirit. Delighted with the phenomenal success of our EarthSings conference in 2013, we are once again creating a conference devoted to transformation through song. 34

Hosted by Peter Vallance with local song teachers Bill Henderson, Kate O’Connell and Barbara Swetina, the conference will feature daytime workshops, participatory events and evening concerts.

Susie Prater, a gifted and dynamic voice teacher and composer, shares classic songs in harmony. Director of the Shakti Sings Choir at the Glastonbury Festival, she will also offer workshops aimed at encouraging younger singers.

We warmly welcome you to join with us in song.

Our Festival guest teacher in 2014, Piry Krakow conveys the dignity, power and grace of the Roma dances through the music and its many-layered emotions. As traditional dances are always positioned within the context of the living culture of the people, she uses background information to enable a deeper understanding of the Roma culture. Piry has a strong connection to Eastern Europe through her Hungarian roots and currently her most important teacher is Sani Rifati from Kosovo.

Teacher Laura Shannon has 25 years' experience worldwide with her pioneering approach to traditional dance as a tool for healing and transformation. Together with Kostantis Kourmadias providing live music, she will offer traditional Greek and Balkan ritual dances, focusing on the symbols and healing energy contained within them. In addition to the daily dance workshops there is the chance to participate in the Festival Choir with Barbara Swetina or the Orchestra with Bill Henderson and provide music for the final night's community dance. Dancing to live music is an important part of the Festival experience and evenings will include The Ceilidh Band, O’Connell’s Band, the Indian Band, Laura and Kostantis and Barbara Swetina with dances taught by Peter Vallance, Susanne Anders Bartholomäi and our guest teachers. So much is going wrong and yet so many are sowing seeds of light in the encroaching darkness. What is needed now, on a cultural level, is to start weaving threads of a new story together, to accelerate our collective understanding of what the 'world in waiting' could be....

27 September - 3 October Organised by Richard Olivier, Janice Dolley, Yvonne Cuneo We humans find our way by stories – they shape us, hold us and give meaning to our lives. Every so often it becomes clear that a prevailing story is no longer serving, and that it is time for an evolutionary leap of consciousness, to re-imagine who we are and who we could be. 36

This summit is our call – to those already living their edge of a new story, those investigating threads of possibility and those seeking inspiration and insight – to gather with open hearts and minds and participate in an evolving field of creative inquiry. Our 'Storyteller-Presenters' will offer practical, social and political pathways to an inspiring, life-sustaining future. Others will hold threads of ancient wisdom, new science, new economics, new business, new leadership and the arts. The event will be experiential and

collaborative by design; sourcing collective wisdom from the emerging flow. There will be global and multigenerational representation, with social media and webstreaming so all who feel called can engage. We envision all participants will gain a deeper, more coherent sense of what the new story is for them and how they can live into it. We see this as a necessary evolutionary process and imagine others inspired to create networks, projects and events to further accelerate the emergence of the new story in our world, before it is too late. Humanity is undergoing a maturation rite of passage at the species level in its transition from fear-based competition, conspicuous consumption and empire building towards compassionate cooperation, co-creation with nature, interconnected community – and what else besides? Come and help us find out. Be part of this next great adventure....

of the choices you are making in your life and a chance to rid yourself of something that is causing you and others pain. You enter the desert of the heart when it's time to confront a personal myth. Through recognising behaviour that is not in balance and observing actions and reactions, the pattern behind the extreme behaviour and the personal myth that gives permission to act in this way can be identified. This dwelling in the desert is what puts you in a position to be able to release the myth. Breaking through a personal myth can be amongst the most rigorous tasks you can undertake. By choosing this path of inner work, you are giving yourself time, silence and distance from your familiar landscape to come back into balance with your own essential nature. In the past 12 months, you have helped us to: • build a new eco friendly and fully accessible guest lodge • sponsor 200 bursaried places • replace the old barn at Cullerne Garden with a new pole barn • restore Cluny’s dining room roof • replace our oldest minibus • plant fruit trees in Park Garden • buy new equipment for the kitchens Thanks to the support of our worldwide network of donors, we are still thriving after 50 years and continue to offer the experience of this community to the world.

Leave a Lasting Legacy You can help nurture the work of the Findhorn Foundation in the world by remembering the Foundation in your will.
