will be fully tax deductible as they will be made to Marian University. The “We can D.O. it” campaign also will offer brick recognition and naming opportunities within the Michael A. Evans Center for Health Sciences at Marian.

As you can see this is a wonderful opportunity for the IOA membership to support the new MUCOM. This is the time to recommit ourselves to our osteopathic roots.

This medical school will change the face of osteopathic medicine throughout the state.

D.O.s will be more recognized and even more respected, and will have more influence on healthcare within Indiana and the nation.

I urge you to get involved in our state organization and offer your time, money, and commitment to our new osteopathic medical school. I think most if not all D.O.s within Indiana have dreamed of this day and I thank you for support. I look forward to reaching our goals together.

It was good to see everyone at the 31st Annual Winter Update in December. I am looking forward to spending more time with all of you at the 116th Annual Convention, May 3 – 5, 2013, at the Sheraton Hotel at Keystone Crossing, in Indianapolis. Watch for a brochure in early March and be sure to register.

The Advocates to the IOA (AIOA) program will be great fun as usual. Please plan to join us for lunch on Friday afternoon and breakfast, a business meeting, and installation of officers on Saturday morning.

We especially hope physicians and spouses/guests will join us for our silent auction during the president’s luncheon on Saturday afternoon. Indiana students in osteopathic medical school truly appreciate the forgivable loans they receive as a result of our fundraising activities at annual conventions. Your support by making cash contributions, buying raffle tickets, and bidding on auction items is vital.

And don’t forget the items you wish to donate for our silent auction. These items should be unique and in good condition. They may be something you have made or bought, tickets to a sporting event or theater production, time at your own retreat site, etc. The AIOA will be selling advertising in the convention brochure again too.

Details will be e-mailed in early March about this and the auction.
