Biography of Finley Pfardrescher
Finley Pfardrescher is a college sophomore at the University of Mississippi, where he is studying Business Management. A well-rounded student with a broad range of interests, he is an active member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity and frequently participates in charitable work at the university and in the community.
Finley is also an accomplished diver, having been a member of the Dallas Metroplex Diving team in high school. He is also strongly interested in various types of intramural sports.
Personal background
Finley was born in 2004 and spent most of his childhood in McKinney, Texas. The oldest of two boys born to Jason and Doris Pfardrescher, he has a younger brother named Hayes, who is a senior in high school.
High school education
Finley graduated from McKinney Boyd High School in 2023. A four-year letterman, he was the captain of the Dallas Metroplex Diving team and holds several school records.
As a diver, Finley’s primary position is the 1-meter springboard, while his second position is the 3-meter springboard. His highest score at the 1m 6 dive was 232, and his highest at the 1m 10 dive was 320.4. Finley also earned a score of 355.14 at the 1m 11 dive.
These scores indicate solid execution and competitiveness at a high school level, allowing Finley to place and win during dive meets. His scores in the 1m 10 and 1m 11 dives are especially exceptional, representing his precise performance.
Overall, Finley’s diving record exhibits a winning combination of technical skill and consistency, reflecting his extensive training and proficiency.
Part of his training for the dive team involved cross-fit training, which he engaged in for two years. He also underwent intensive weight training for a year, with the goal of adding weight and
increasing muscle mass. His weightlifting regimen at the time involved going to the gym four to five times per week.
Other high school activities
Finley had many other interests in high school besides sports. He was also a regular contributor to the school’s broadcast news network, where he covered stories about the school and the local community.
He was also active in the school theater from the sixth to the ninth grades, frequently participating in TV commercials and UIL plays, which were presented under the guidance of the University of Texas-Austin’s University Interscholastic League.
Finley was also cast in an independent feature film titled Dear Leo, which was produced in November 2020. Released by Young/Old Productions, the film revolves around a young woman named Annie Duncan, who just graduated from high school and is about to embark on her freshman year in college.
Told through letters that “Annie” wrote to her middle-school cousin, Leo, Dear Leo features Finley Pfardrescher in the role of “Jared M.”
Along with these theatrical and film pursuits, Finley also displayed a strong interest in digital media in general.
The college years
Finley is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management at the University of Mississippi. A proud member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity, he enjoys participating in the group's charitable work and socializing with his fraternity brothers.
Of course, Finley hasn’t forgotten his passion for diving. Just as in high school, Finley continues to derive satisfaction from the individual pressure of diving and the many opportunities presented by being part of a team. Even as he strives to excel academically in his college classes, he intends to maximize his full athletic potential as a diver.
If there is anything that Finley is just as passionate about as diving, it would have to be cars. A founding member of the Ole Miss Car Club at the University of Mississippi, he was actively involved in the organization’s various activities, including car shows, meet-ups, and cruises.
These days, the demands of college and diving leave Finley little time to indulge in his passion for cars. Even so, he continues to maintain a strong interest in all types of vehicles, from classic and vintage designs to more modern sports cars and modified models.
Interests
Although he is an athlete himself, Finley remains a devoted fan of many sports teams, including the Dallas Cowboys, the Mavericks, the Houston Astros, and, of course, the various sports teams of Ole Miss.
He is also an avid snowboarder when he isn’t diving and enjoys watching movies and listening to music.
Personal values
Finley Pfardrescher is a young man primarily driven by his strong faith. It is this faith that keeps him grounded as he strives to be the most caring and compassionate person he can be. No matter what challenges he faces, he always retains a deep gratitude for his loving family and the strong support system they provide.
Plans for the future
Finley is set to begin an internship at Well Go USA, a film distribution company based in Plano. However, he fully intends to remain in college and earn his degree.
At present, Finley isn’t quite sure what life has in store for him. However, one thing he is certain of is that he will remain committed to his education and strive to meet the expectations of his coaches, teammates, and family.
