A d ense urban topograpy envelopi ng an i nterior courtyard poses the question of what is seen and unseen. The meaning of the ri tual and ceremony are the g enera tors for the project’s development. Compression and release along an irregular rhythmi c sequence are amplifi ed wi th the use of light wells whi ch extend to a subterranean level. The id ea of subtraction and addi tion are uti lised wi thi n the thickness of the bui lding’s skin.

Micro Brewpub
Tha t a brewery displayi ng a process associa ted wi th time is key to the thesis. The pub allows for this interaction wi th time to occur. The public sphere experi ence is affected by the internal processes of the bui lding. The growth of barley (through the use of hydroponics and LED lighting) is housed on si te for cultivation and a display of controlled time. The production of beer was key for d emonstra ti ng an i ndustrial cycle or measurement of ti me.
