Her father was a sailor, who sailed all over the Earth's globe. He was always saying to his Eli:
One day, Eli really wanted to finally see snow.
She took her father's camel and together they went on a journey.
By the last blade of grass, they stopped. Eli had never been that far away from home. She saw a woman, carrying a pot of water.
The woman waved to Eli, but while doing that, the pot fell on the thirsty desert ground.
The hot desert sand quickly absorbed the water. The woman started to cry.
Eli didn't understand why the woman was so sad. Her camel didn't care much.
After a long walk through the desert, Eli and the camel came to a lake. They noticed a young fisherman.
He landed on the shore, took his fish, herded the cattle and went away.
He headed back to the desert. "His fish will start to smell funny before he comes home," thought Eli.
Not far ahead she met a boy, with dry twigs in his arms. He was also heading towards the desert.
Suddenly she heard sounds in the bushes. Quickly she hid herself.
Some mean men beat up the poor boy. All they took were his twigs.
Eli ran away. She was running and running, until she finally came to the flooded land.
The next few days, all she was doing, was just running in the rain.
She was searching for food on her own and sometimes she was being chased by men with guns.
She hardly fell asleep and was always asking herself "Where is father's camel?"
When the sky finally got brighter, Eli saw snow on the mountain.
While she was climbing, the snow patch was getting smaller and smaller. She didn't find it until she came to the top.
Eli made a snowball for the first time in her life. She was happy...
... Until her boat set sail with the snow. "Where is father's camel?" she mumbled in her kerchief.
