TLG Excellence through experience
Total Livestock Genetics (TLG) has been leading the way in animal genetics and reproduction technologies since 1989. Founded by Shane and Erin Ashworth in response to the need for an independent and professional semen and embryo collection service, TLG has since expanded its range of complementary services to include storage and despatch, import and export of genetic material and live animal export. Throughout the years TLG has grown from humble beginnings to one of the largest collection centres in Australia, with two sites catering for all global markets. TLG’s Camperdown Collection Centre is one of few semen collection centres in Australia licensed to collect for the European Union and China. Due to the strict requirements of the EU, there is a separate licensed semen collection centre at TLG’s Glenormiston Centre, which caters for animals which need not qualify for the European Union. In 2011 TLG established a commercial relationship with Sexing Technologies (ST) to bring sexed semen technology to Australia. At present there are eight sorting machines in operation at our Camperdown Centre. Due to growing demand for Australian standing sires and the availability of sex sorted local semen, in 2015 TLG decided to develop a high quality team of sires, and so began the TLG-BULL TEAM.
