Disciples are simply followers of Jesus Christ. We seek to make disciples through our worship services, Sunday Groups, Bible studies and one-on-one relationships. Our goal is to become fully devoted followers of Christ.
Share Jesus
At First Denton we believe everyone is called by God to share Jesus with those who are not yet believers in Christ. We are all ministers and God gives us unique opportunities to share the gospel message with those in our circles of influence.

Baptist General Convention of Texas November 8–10 • Frisco, TX At this year’s annual BGCT meeting, we’ll examine Baptist Distinctives and share the reasons we choose to be Baptist. Our church is allowed 25 messengers to go to the meeting. If you are interested in going, please contact Deb Kingrey at debk@firstdenton.org before October 25.
Staff Anniversary Austin Wadlow has been serving as our College Pastor since October 2010. We are recognizing him for five great years of ministry to college students. If you would like to contribute to a love offering honoring Austin, please designate it on your offering. Elves Shelves Registration Elves Shelves assists families within our community who are not able to provide Christmas gifts for their children. Families must be registered in order to receive gifts. If you know someone in need of help this Christmas, visit FirstDenton.org/elves for registration details. Deacons Meeting This month’s Deacons Meeting will be on Saturday, October 24 at 8 am in the Fellowship Hall. A light breakfast will be served. Women

The Brew October 18 • 5 pm • FH The Brew is an evening of connecting ladies of all ages through fellowship, laughter and growing together in our walk with Christ. We will have coffee and dessert. Invite your friends and let us come together.

Cockrell Family Adoption Benefit October 17 • 4 pm • FH The Cockrell Adoption Benefit will include a BBQ meal, dessert, live music, silent auction, raffle drawings and live auction. Tickets are $25 each. All proceeds will go to the Cockrell Family Adoption Fund. Stop by the foyer or the church office to purchase your ticket. Carnival 31 October 31 • 3:30–6 pm Carnival 31 is a night of fun for preschool and elementary-age children on Halloween. We will have games, rides, laser tag, inflatables, trunk-or-treating, concessions for sale and candy. You can help by bringing new unopened bags of candy and placing them in the candy receptacles located around the church. We need lots of people to help make Carnival 31 a success each year. If you would like to volunteer to help the night of the event, visit FirstDenton.org/carnival31. Recovery
Celebrate Recovery Come and join us on Mondays at 7 pm on the Student Floor for Celebrate Recovery. Celebrate Recovery helps us recover from any hurt, hang-up or habit that we are struggling with by understanding that the only true recovery comes through Jesus Christ. Doors will open at 6:30 pm for a time of fellowship and snacks. Childcare is available by reservation only at FirstDenton.org/CR. Missions
Explain God Beginning October 28 • 6 pm • S-216 Now that we’ve finished exploring God, let’s take it a step further and learn to better explain who God is and what He’s done for us to the people in our lives who still don’t know Him. This four-week training will be taught by Dr. Jeff on Wednesday nights. He will focus on the conversational and relational ways to share our faith.
