Jesus said the world will know us by our love. We love people by first loving fellow believers in the church, and then loving and meeting the needs of people in Denton and around the world.
Make Disciples
Disciples are simply followers of Jesus Christ. We seek to make disciples through our worship services, Sunday Groups, Bible studies and one-on-one relationships. Our goal is to become fully devoted followers of Christ.
Share Jesus
At First Denton we believe everyone is called by God to share Jesus with those who are not yet believers in Christ. We are all ministers and God gives us unique opportunities to share the gospel message with those in our circles of influence.

Marino Scholarship for Baylor Students Baylor students who are members of First Baptist Church may apply to receive the Myrtle Marino Scholarship. Applications are available in the pastor’s office and must be returned by July 1, 2015. Church Offices Closed The church offices will be closed on Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day. Church Picnic May 31 • 4–8 pm • Camp Copass Join us for a night of fun and fellowship at our annual church picnic at Camp Copass. Many activities will be available, including swimming, softball, basketball, miniature golf, cards and dominoes, a watermelon eating contest and bake sale/auction benefiting Elves Shelves. A free dinner of BBQ brisket sandwiches and drinks will be served at 5:45 pm. Please bring a side dish or dessert to share with others. First Look June 3 • 6 pm • FH First Look is a chance for new members and those who are interested in joining to see all that we have to offer. It is also an opportunity to get connected. Gateway Student Conference July 22–24 • $75 The Gateway Student Conference is for both middle and high school students. We will be meeting at the church everyday and heading to the conference together. The $75 cost will cover your registration fee and transportation. Deacons Meeting This month's Deacons Meeting will be on May 23 in the Fellowship Hall. We will begin at 8 am with a light breakfast.
Men's Retreat June 5–6 • $65 All men are invited to an overnight retreat at Turtle Hill Lodge in Muenster. There will be golf on Friday and Saturday afternoon for those who wish to play. Friday evening and Saturday morning will be devoted to worship, fellowship, and studying the word of God. Cost is $65 per person and includes lodging, Friday night dinner and Saturday morning breakfast. Register at FirstDenton.org/retreat. Adult 55+
Game Day Our Adults 55+ will meet for table games on Tuesday, May 26 from 1–4 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Please bring a snack to share. Recreation
In His Grip Invitational May 22 • 7:30 am–1 pm The In His Grip Men's Invitational will be on May 22 at 7:30 am at The Tribute Golf Club in The Colony. This year’s event promises to be a great tournament as we invite you for a fun-filled day of golf, food and inspiration. All proceeds from this tournament benefit our Elves Shelves Christmas ministry. For rules and to register, visit FirstDenton.org/IHG. Concealed Handgun License Class May 30 • 8 am • FH James Thomason will be instructing a Concealed Handgun License class on May 30. Immediately following the instruction portion, the class will go to Fossil Pointe gun range for the shooting qualification. Each participant must provide their own handgun and ammunition at the gun range. The cost of the class is $35 plus the range fee at Fossil Pointe. For more details and to register, visit FirstDenton.org/CHL. Day Camp Summer Day Camp is for ages Kindergarten–6th grade. It runs weekly June 8–August 14, 7:30 am–5:30 pm each day. The cost is $100 per week for first child, $85 per week for second child, and $75 per week for 3rd child. There is a registration fee of $15 per camper, per week.
