uly is filled with camps and mission trips: Middle School, High School, Preteen, and Frog Camps; Chicago, Jamaica, and Kenya Mission trips. These involve hundreds of our children and adults. Pray for each of these groups as they grow in their faith in Jesus and to minister in His name. Sunday, July 28 is our Family Fun night at Denton Water Works. We are planning a baptism service at the Water Park that night in the Lazy River. If you have never been baptized, or you are on our baptism list and would like to be baptized in this unique setting, call the church office or email judym@ firstdenton.org and we will get you on the list. I know we are in the dog days of summer and you are taking vacations and trips away from home. As you travel, I hope you will do your best to find a place to worship on Sundays wherever you are visiting. When you are in town, I hope you will make being at First Denton a priority. Whether you are here or away, we have made it very simple for you to still give your tithe and offerings online or by picking up one of our prepaid envelopes from the main office. Summers are huge at First Denton, which means our expenses are as well. God has blessed us in a big way so far in 2013 because of your generous giving. Thank you for being obedient and faithful to what God is doing at His church! In His Love, Jeff

Don Samuelson’s Ministry to the Philippines In 1989, Don Samuelson began gathering used Sunday School curriculum to ship to the Philippines. Don took the time to notify all department directors about saving the used materials to be sent overseas. Don also acquired the necessary boxes and mailing documents for all of the shipments. Don has maintained a close relationship with missionary Pastor Antero and his wife Edith serving in the Philippines. Over the years, Don has had many volunteers assist him including both First Denton members and retired postal employee colleagues. As Don retires we want to say thank you for your faithful service and ministry to the Philippines (1989-2013). We know that many lives were changed through the study of God’s Word because of Don and his team of volunteers.

Following Christ: How to Become a Christian We joyfully share this information with you in anticipation of meeting you personally. Whether you are new to the community or have been here awhile, we have a place for you. But even more importantly, God has a place for you and wants to change your life! If you want to accept Christ as your Savior and have certainty of eternal life, then pray this prayer from your heart: “Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner and have displeased You in many ways. I believe You died for my sin and only through faith in Your death and resurrection can I be forgiven. I want to turn from my sin and ask you to come into my life as my Savior and Lord. From this day on, I will follow You by living a life that pleases You. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for saving me. Amen.” After you have received Jesus Christ into your life, tell a Christian friend about the important decision you have made. Follow Christ in believer’s baptism and church membership. Grow in faith and enjoy new friends in Christ by becoming part of His church and attending the Bible study class the church has just for you. You’ll find others who will love and support you.
