alina Bond was surprised when she returned to Cherbourg State School for work experience in the last week of school term (June 17 – 21). Ms Bond thought things had changed for the better since she graduated from Year 7 in 2009. “There’s more discipline and the principal’s more outgoing and encouraging,” the Year-11 Murgon State High School student said. Ms Bond, 16, was placed with the Year-3 class and found it different to her mentoring roles with the Year 8s at Murgon high and as a buddy to the prep children when in Year 7. But teaching is not what she wants to do.
“I’d love to be a World Wrestling Entertainment Diva,” Ms Bond said. “I just love wrestling and the stories behind it. “They have good guys who are everyday superheroes and the bad guys are villains. They have everything from the Joker to Batman. “I find it very entertaining.” Ms Bond has a plan to make her dream come true and will attend wrestling schools around Australia when she can. The granddaughter of Cherbourg boxing legend Jeffrey “Mitta” Dynevor said she would put all her might into achieving her goal. And her quest all began at Cherbourg State School.
“It came from all the sport Mr (Jim) Hartley used to make us do here,” Ms Bond said. “We did cricket, softball, volleyball and everyday games. “It got me thinking and now I want to wrestle. That’s my dream and I will try to make it happen.” Ends Picture Caption: She’s our diva: Murgon State High School student Kalina Bond was loved by Cherbourg State School students such as Colin Saltner, Edna Fisher and Quiytina Murray when she did work experience in their class during the last week of term.
