fter a national recruitment process, Ms Sharan NicholsonRogers has been appointed as the new CEO of the National Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Women’s Alliance (NATSIWA). Sharan is a proud Wiradjuri woman and will be taking up this exciting new position early in 2014. ‘NATSIWA welcomes Sharan and the skills and insights she will bring from her broad experience in a range of organisations, including her recent role as the State Aboriginal CoOrdinator for the Cancer Institute of NSW’, said

the NATSIWA Chairperson Dea Delaney-Thiele. She has had an extensive career in the health and not-for-profit sectors with a focus on developing partnerships, building capacity, performance management, research, public

health and other community development initiatives. She has sat on the Board of Tharawal Aboriginal Corporation for a total of 10 years. Her experience includes working in organisations with a focus on improving outcomes for her people.

She looks forward to commencing work with the NATSIWA Board, Members, the Office for Women and is very keen to grow the NATSIWA membership across the country. Sharan confirmed, “I am delighted to be commencing as the new CEO of

NATSIWA early in the new year and I look forward to the opportunity to further strengthen our efforts, in collaboration with our sister Alliances, governments and our communities, to prevent violence against our women and girls”.
