Pearls MiiHome Employment Covenant to deliver jobs to Indigenous Community

by Dianne Monopoli apid build housing solutions company Pearls MiiHome has formally extended its commitment to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community with the signing of an Employment Covenant with Generation One which will deliver 100 jobs to the community in the Gold Coast region. Generation One is a not for

profit organisation set up to end the disparity between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians through opportunities in education, training, mentoring and employment. With alliance partner Mission Australia, Pearls MiiHome will initially be targeting 60 jobs as part of a workforce expansion to meet contract commitments. The Access Employment Program commenced recently, with further recruitment
sessions planned for Beenleigh and Southport. Mr Winfield said the company had set a target to have at least 50 per cent Indigenous employment within its Gold Coast manufacturing factories at Yatala and Coomera. “The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities are very important to Pearls MiiHome and we are grateful for the relationships

we have developed. “We want to give back to these communities and help them in the future. We do this by empowering Indigenous people through giving them jobs and capability whether
that be building in their own communities, in other communities or in our factories. “This is an exciting development for both Pearls MiiHome and the local Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait
Islander communities with more employment opportunities ahead as we continue our expansion, one of the few manufacturing companies in Australia to be in that position,� he said.
