ountry Rugby League is proud to announce the appointment of Mr Ricky Walford as Indigenous Programs Manager. Mr Walford joins the CRL with a wealth of experience in the game both on and off the field after a distinguished playing career and 13 years working with the Australian Rugby League and NSWRL as Indigenous Rugby League Manager. Country Rugby League CEO Terry Quinn believes Walford’s
appointment will be extremely beneficial to Country Rugby League. “We are very excited to have someone with the experience and profile of Ricky Walford joining the Country Rugby League family,” said Quinn. “The CRL have a strong relationship with Indigenous communities throughout regional New South Wales and we are looking forward to strengthening and expanding on those ties with Ricky’s appointment.” Walford, who played 230 first grade games and represented both Country and NSW, admitted he was
looking forward to starting his new position with the CRL. “As a country boy from Walgett, I’ve always been passionate about Country Rugby League’s place in the game and I’m excited to be on board as Indigenous Programs Manager,” said Walford. “Rugby League is a part of the fabric of Indigenous communities and provides a vehicle to advocate pertinent messages that help develop the various components of these communities. “It’s an exciting change for me and I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead.”
