amily’s good habits lead to success The five Saltner boys never stop to think about whether they’ll go to school. They get up at 6am and the older boys Harold, 12, and William, 10, will prepare breakfast for the younger trio. They’ll make toast and cereal for
Colin, 9, Des, 6, and Percy 4. Mum, Alicia, and dad, Des, will then make their lunches while their children dress in the Cherbourg State School uniforms they have washed and ironed for them. The boys are then out the door heading for school at 8am. “They love it,” Mr Saltner said. “They’re with their friends.” Mr and Mrs Saltner believed
school would set their children up for a happier life. “They’ll have the education to do what they want in the workforce,” Mr Saltner said. “They love their football but it’s always good to have a backup plan. “When they get a bit older they’ll probably start talking about what they want to do. “And we’ll encourage them.”
