Slip on Stereo to appear at Boomerang festival by Chryss Carr 17 September 2013 These answers are by manager Mark Bretherton and Clint Wallace [indigenous band member]. You recorded with a local producer Anthony Lycenko - can you tell me why you chose to use him? Anthony has a great reputation of working with fantastic talents and get the best out of them to produce great music. One of our band members Clint worked with him and there was already a great relationship with him? What was the plan for the recording process? What did you want to achieve? The plan was to pick songs that would connect with and relate with our audiance. We wanted to attempt to replicate the same energy and feeling that we work towards when we perform live. How do you feel about the results? We had a great time during the process and we are very happy with the sound that was achieved. Do you need to be flexible in a recording situation? Yes its important to be flexible. Being flexible for us allows creativity to flow. And for us to get
the best out of each other. How do you like to change your studio work from what you present live? Being in a studio situation for us means that we can experiment with other sounds and elements What do you think it is about your sound that sets you apart? We are trying to bring a sound that is authentic Pop that people can be proud of listening.
What should we expect for your performance at Boomerang? We love festivals. It gives us the opportunity to connect on a personal level with people that may not otherwise get to hear our style of music. We love seeing people react to seeing us for the first time. It will also be amazing to be amongst such a top notch calibre line up – to be amongst all these talented artists will be a blast!
