still to come...DR & MFuge 2012
Dear Class of 2012! You were in the 7th grade when our lives joined in February, 2007. Through the last five-plus years, you have allowed your roots grow deep in so many ways. At school and in the community, you have led in volleyball, scouts, baseball, band, football, choral, community fire department, dance, cheerleading, basketball, soccer, and so much more. You have excelled in all that you have participated in. Your class represents six different schools, yet you have let faith and church be your connecting point. Many of you have grown up together from Cradle Roll to Jerry Miller’s class. Others have not spent their life at First Baptist, yet you came and became a part of this group. Now you are at graduation. Graduation is a point in a person’s life where life as you know it becomes a layer of who you are. These layers in who we are provide a foundation for the next layer to be formed. A person could say that we are established through these layers. I have heard these points called a hallmark. Hallmarks are a point of reference that a person can look back to see an event in time as a place for him/her deciding to build upon who he/she is to who they will become. Hallmarks in a person’s life call for celebration, and I celebrate with you and your family at your accomplishment of high school graduation. You are ready to begin the next layer of your life. You endured and survived calculus, proms, joys and sorrows of sports, lights spotlighting you on the stage, and everything else that have been recorded in the analogs of your days in and out of the halls of school from pre-K to high school. All of these things deserve celebrating, but the mark you have left upon others is truly why I celebrate. In my time as your Minister to Students, I have witnessed several of you model Christ to the students coming up in our church and to many outside our church through missions. This mark leaves me sad at the same time because you will be missed. You as the First Baptist Church Huntsville Class of 2012 have done much and seen much as a youth. You have been to Alaska to work on houses for Worldchangers, Student Life Camp in Chattanooga, Youth Choir trips in California and Chicago, played with children in Connecticut, and M-Fuge in Nashville. Laguna Beach and Camp ToknowHim will not be the same without you at Spring Camp and Fall Retreat. Your voices have been an anchor for the Youth Choir. You have been the hands and feet of Christ to many! Now you embark on a new path in your life. It is called adulthood. This new place will be places like Auburn, Starkville, Tuscaloosa, Birmingham, and Huntsville. Becoming an adult means learning to wake yourself up each morning at college. New adventures lie ahead for you. Hope and I truly wish you the best. We join you in looking forward to where this new path takes you, what you get to experience, where you will go, and who you will become. While many of you will become involved in new ministries and church in your school setting (as you should!), know that you have much love and support here at home. In His love and mine, Jamie Mackey
CHRIST...together

Jonathan Glenn Bailey “JB” Huntsville High School Bible Verse: “What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. Or do you think Scripture says without reason that he jealously longs for the spirit he has caused to dwell in us? But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble. Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9 Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up. Brothers and sisters, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against a brother or sister or judges them speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it. There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you—who are you to judge your neighbor?” James 4:1-12 Favorite Things You Like to Do: Hunt, Fish, and play sports.
