Dear Class of 2015! You are an amazing class! From Sunday, August 9, 2009, I have thoroughly enjoyed being your youth pastor. We have traveled many roads together where we have grown, laughed, cried, and had a blast the en re me. You are a class of leaders. Beginning on mission trips to places like Waterbury and Chicago, you have seized the opportunity to lead through service in a mul tude of ways. I see you lead here at First Bap st Huntsville and in our community. You lead in your school — clubs, band, football, baseball, choral, basketball, soccer, drama, and so much more. You have excelled in all that you have par cipated in. Your class represents ten different schools, yet you have let faith and church be your connec ng point. Many of you have grown up together from Cradle Roll to Jerry Miller’s class. Others have not spent their life at First Bap st, yet you came and became a part of this group. Now, you are at gradua on. Gradua on is a point in a person’s life where life as you know it becomes a layer of who you are. These layers in who we are provide a founda on for the next layer to be formed. A person could say that we are established through these layers. I have heard these points called a hallmark. Hallmarks are a point of reference that a person can look back to see an event in me as a place for him/her deciding to build upon who he/she is to who they will become. Hallmarks in a person’s life call for celebra on, and I celebrate with you and your family at your accomplishment of high school gradua on. You are ready to begin the next layer of your life. You are ready to begin something new. You endured and survived much through school whether it’s been calculus, proms, or the joys and sorrows of sports. All of these things deserve celebra ng, but the mark you have le+ upon each other and others beyond your class is truly why I celebrate you. In my me as your Minister to Students, I have never had a class like yours. You care for one another. You serve one another. You are Christ to one another. As I celebrate this mark, it leaves me sad at the same me because you will be missed. You as the First Bap st Church Huntsville Class of 2015 have done much and seen much as a youth. You have been on sung to the needy in Chicago; refurbished a camp in Canada; and played with children in Connec cut, Nashville (MFuge), and Arlington. Laguna Beach and Camp ToknowHim will not be the same without you at Spring Camp and Fall Retreat. Your voices have been an anchor for the Student Choir and the Praise Band. You have been the hands and feet of Christ to many! Now you embark on a new path in your life. It is called adulthood. This new place will be places like Auburn, Starkville, Nashville, Tuscaloosa, Florence, and Huntsville. Becoming an adult means learning to wake yourself up each morning at college. New adventures lie ahead for you. Hope and I truly wish you the best. We join you in looking forward to where this new path takes you, what you get to experience, where you will go, and who you will become. While many of you will become involved in new ministries and church in your school se5ng (as you should!), know that you have much love and support here at home. In His love and mine, Jamie Mackey
