Tfigured maple top chosen by Jason Isbell, a Brazilian rosewood fretboard, and a Murphy Lab aging process to replicate the look of the famous original guitar. It is a collector's edition clone of Jason Isbell's iconic '59 Les Paul. "
Lynyrd Skynyrd. Much of the red color on the top faded after being displayed in a showcase, except for an area under the toggle switch, which was covered by a sticker. Ed purchased it in 1982 and named it ‘Red Eye’ because of its distinctive appearance. After Ed's passing in 2018, Jason Isbell bought Red Eye and often uses it in his live performances and studio recordings.
This special limited edition collector's replica uses new 3D scanning technology and u l t ra - p r e
clone of Red Eye. Every detail has been meticulously reproduced, from the exact play wear to the tonal character and the Brazilian rosewood fretboard. The figured maple t o p s w e r e e ve n p
instruments have been handcrafted by the expert luthiers at the Gibson Custom Shop and the Murphy Lab in Nashville, Tennessee, as part of this extraordinary Collector's Edition.
THE ORIGINAL SERIAL NUMBER
Each of the 59 guitars in this Collector's Edition bears the original serial number of Red Eye, 9 0891, stamped in ink on the back of the headstock. In addition, the guitars i n t h e C
