Welcome to the 49th Annual Canadian Red Round-Up Show & Sale. Once again I am very excited and honoured to be working along Bryan Mackenzie and the Canadian Red Angus Promotion Society on this truly prestigious event. As we approach the 50th Anniversary sale things are getting as exciting as ever before. This year will once again be highlighted by the Junior Heifer Calf Extravaganza, which is on pace to give away over $100,000 in sale credits to our junior members, who are in fact the future of the Red Angus breed in Canada. This show has caught the attention of cattle producers and media alike on both sides of the border as well as overseas and all around the globe. It is in fact a no miss event for any junior age member in the cattle business. We are also gearing up for the third leg of the infamous $100,000 Junior Heifer Futurity, which has seen the utmost of support and participation over the past few years. It is going to be very exciting to see these females back once again competing in one of the toughest Red Angus shows in the country. I would like to personally thank all of our sponsors from these two junior events, nothing is possible without your generous support and contribution. And of course, the greatest cattle event on the planet is not complete without a star studded lineup. That is just what we have on offer for the 49th Annual Red Round-Up Sale. The offering is once again nothing short of fantastic. We have an extremely strong lineup of fancy heifer calves that will please the juniors for the show ring as well as the most critical of cattlemen. You will want to study this section in great detail, maybe there is a top 10 Futurity female hiding in this bunch? The bred females on offer are the right kind. Stout, powerful, broody type females that are carrying a calf and are one year further to a return on investment. This section consists of bred heifers as well as select mature cows. We also have some very exciting picks and frozen lots awaiting your appraisal. It is truly an offering that you will not want to miss, so please plan on joining us in Olds for the 49th Annual Canadian Red Round-Up. Again this year you will see the highly anticipated Red Angus Rocks! program. Details for this are printed inside the catalogue and it is open to any junior age member. Last year was very successful and all proceeds will be given back to the juniors in the form of sale credits. New this year we will see the CRAPS fundraiser being sold on the DLMS Farmgate platform, all proceeds will go to CRAPS so they can continue their valued promotion of the Red Angus breed across Canada. The frozen section as always will take place Friday night after the prestigious Red Round-Up Banquet with the mighty Red Round-Up Live Cattle Sale on Saturday at 1pm. Please plan on joining us in Olds October 14th-17th for the 49th Annual Canadian Red Round-Up Show & Sale.
