Raj Youth Board sends 400 youth on 7-day tour

In coming year, 10,000 youth will be sent on tour programme to the entire country including NorthEastern states for cultural exchange

Jaipur: On the 72nd birthday of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Rajasthan Youth Board President Sitaram Lamba on Wednesday flagged off a delegation of 400 youths, who will be touring different states of the country for seven days. The delegation was flagged off from SMS Stadium and the youths will be given the facility of lodging and boarding free of cost. Sitaram Lamba informed that it was announced in the Shek- hawati Festival that youths and artists securing the first three of Project Officer, 3 posts of Information Assistant, 2 posts of Consultant for the scheme. It is notable that the CM had increased the number of meritorious students from 200 to 500 while increasing the scope of the scheme in the budget announcement 2023-24.

Court sentences

3 accused for 10 yrs in drug smuggling case

First India Bureau Jaipur: An NDPS court sentenced three accused to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and fined Rs 7 lakh for trying to traffick the illegal narcotic drug Opium. Assistant Director (Prosecution) participants in different fields would be taken on a tour of different states of the country.

Uma Shankar Khandelwal appeared on behalf of the government and said that accused Babu Lal Bishnoi, Rakesh Bishnoi and Bhagirath Vishnoi were arrested by Bagru Police on May 20, 2018, and 79.57 kgs of opium were recovered from their possession.

On this occasion, Chairman of the State Level Public Litigation Redressal Committee Pukhraj Parashar gave his best wishes to the youth going on the excursion. Government Secretary of Youth Affairs and Sports Department Naresh Kumar Thakral also encouraged the youth.

“The accused were smuggling opium from Jharkhand to Jodhpur when they were caught on Ajmer Road by the Bagru Thana Police,” said Uma Shankar Khandelwal.

Judge Pramod Malik pronounced the judgment after hearing the arguments and sentenced the three accused. The court has also asked the government to take action against the investigating officer for a shoddy investigation.
