First India Bureau New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Saturday raided online payment gateways like Razorpay, Cashfree, Paytm as part of an ongoing probe in connection with the Chinese instant loan app case. The raids were at six premises in Bengaluru. The case is based on 18 numbers of FIRs registered by the Cyber Crime Police Station in Bengaluru City. “The modus operandi of these entities is by using forged documents of Indians and making them as dummy directors of those entities, they are generating proceeds of crime,” ED said The agency further said that these entities were doing their illegal business through various merchant IDs and accounts held with payment gateways and banks,” it said.

First India Bureau Jaipur: Rajasthan Small Industries Corpo ration (RAJSICO) chair man Rajiv Arora was elected as the first chair man of the Rajasthan Export Promotion Council. The council has been formed to mon itor the export-related issues of industries and resolve them. In the first meeting of the council, Arora said that the basic objective of the council is to touch the export target of Rs 1 lakh crore in the state. He said that due to the smooth industrial poli cies of the State Govern ment, about 37 percent growth has been seen in exports in the last 4 years.“There has been a quantum jump in ex ports in 4 years,” he said. Arora said that the first goal is to add more members to the council so that the biggest ex porter from the smallest producer can get its ben efit.Through the council, he said, all the problems of the exporters will be resolved. “The council will handle all types of matters at its level and will resolve the matters related to exporters. The intention of the council is to promote the prod ucts of all the industries of the state for export,” he added. On the other hand, Mahavir Pratap Sharma was made the Vice Chairman and Anil Kumar Bakshi, Sanjeev Agarwal, Anil Agarwal, Ravi Poddar and. SN Modani were made di rectors.

I distinctly remember Ra jiv’s talks with the Hungari an leader, Janos Kadar. Short of abusing Gorbachev, he was totally against what the Soviet Leader was up to. In late 1987 I visited Warsaw. I had been ambassador to Po land in the early nineteen seventies. Some of the lead ers of those times were still alive, including the former Prime Minister, Wojciech Jaruzelski. I asked to see him. He invited me to tea at his house. His lovely wife was also present. I asked my distinguished Polish host, what he thought of Gorbachev’s reformist policies. His answer was scathingly disapproving. “He is destroying Communism, the USSR and us. I cannot for give him.” Mr. Gorbachev had a soft corner for India, respect for Jawaharlal Nehru and considered Rajiv Gandhi an intimate friend. In his “Memoirs” he wrote admiringly about Jawaharlal Nehru. Gorbachev was a stu dent when Jawaharlal Nehru spent a week in the Soviet Un ion. He had substantial discus sions with M/s Khrushchev and Nikolai Bulganin, the two leaders. Khrushchev was the undisputed number one. Gorbachev writes, “Jawa harlal Nehru’s visit to Mos cow in June 1955 served as an unexpected stimulus for me….. This amazing man, his noble bearing, his intelli gent, keen eyes, and warm and disarming smile, made a deep impression on me. I re call his kind words for our alma mater and the hope he expressed that the University would educate young men and women great in mind and of heart, who would be come the bearers of peace and good will. Rajiv Gandhi and Mikhail Gorbachev called each other by their first names. “I estab lished a warm personal rap port with Rajiv Gandhi. We met on many occasions and exchanged letters. Our thoughts were along the same lines, and our conversa tions ranged far beyond the agenda. I was deeply im pressed by the way he organ ically combined the profound philosophic tradition of In dia and the East with a per fect knowledge and compre hension of European culture. He had great personal charm and was endowed many hu man virtues. Mahesh Sharma New Delhi: Jharkhand’s JMM and Congress MLAs have been kept at the Mayfair Resort in Nava Raipur of Chhattisgarh. Both the parties are taking utmost care and the state government is also paying full attention. When four Congress ministers were to be called for the cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Hemant Soren himself went by a special plane and brought for the cabinet meet. Despite such caution, the leaders of JMM are not in confidence that this campaign will be successful. One of the many reasons for this is that the Mayfair resort in which the legislators are kept, whatever luxury the resort may offer, has a poor record. The purpose for which MLAs are kept in that resort is notHaryanaserved. Congress MLAs were kept at this resort ahead of the Rajya Sabha elections in April this year. Ajay Maken was contesting from Congress’s side and BJP supported independent Karthikeya Sharma to contest against Maken. The legislators were then taken to the Mayfair resort to save them from breakdown. The MLAs returned on election day and cast their votes. But Ajay Maken could not win. He lost by one vote. It is a different matter that out of two or three MLAs who did not go to Chhattisgarh, one of them engaged in cross voting and the other legislator cast an invalid vote. However, the role of in-charge Vivek Bansal is said to be suspicious. Prior to that, before the assembly elections in Assam last year, when the process of breaking up of Congress MLAs started, many MLAs were kept in the Mayfair resort but that operation also did not succeed and many Congress MLAs went to the BJP.

He said that the Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Guarantee Scheme, which is being started by the State Government with a budget of Rs 800 crore from Sept 9, will provide relief to the unemployed in urban areas by providing them employment.TheCM was addressing the review meeting of the Scheme at the CMR on Saturday. He said that the ministerin-charge of all the districts would launch the scheme starting from September 9. So far, more than 2.2 lakh families of urban areas have registered under theCMscheme.saidthat cleanliness works will be given priority in scheme. It will be implemented as a social responsibility. Permission (up to 20 years) to be given for construction on plots, plinth level or Skeleton houses given in general allotment or auction, will now be available at the Commissioner’s level.
