Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray’s car was pelted with stones during the Shiv Sanvaad Yatra, Shiv Sena leader Ambadas Danve said on Wednesday.

Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Legislative Council, Ambadas Danve alleged that the stones were pelted by “anti-social” elements to create a rift between those carrying out the procession and the Shiv Sena convoy.

“Some stones were pelted at the convoy while we were leaving the venue. A stone fell inside the venue. The crowd was raising slogans in support of local MLA, Ramesh Bornare. It was an attempt by anti-social elements in the mob to create a rift between the two groups,” he said.

Danve further said that after the police asked them to stop the DJ and the procession, the crowd went angry and started pelting stones at the convoy.

Aurangabad: “”It was done to spoil the atmosphere. In our Shiv Sanvaad Yatra, we are raising issues of farmers and public. Those who do not have crowd in their event, send people to do such things. Mumbai: Condemning the stone pelting incident, NCP leader Ajit Pawar on Wednesday said that such incidents should not happen and no one should take law into their own hands. “I would say that be it the ruling party or the opposition, there is no need to take the law into one’s hands and people should refrain from indulging in such activities,” said Ajit Pawar. Ajit Pawar further said that it is everyone’s right to protest but one should protest peacefully and pelting stones can never be justified.

Under ‘Operation Dost’, India has sent four C-17 planeloads of relief material, medicines, equipment and personnel, weighing over 108 tons (97,000 kg) to Turkey. The planes to Turkey include 99 medical specialists which will set up a 30-bed medical facility in field operation conditions.

Partnership ‘on-hold’ as TotalEnergies seeks ‘clarity’

Mumbai: France’s TotalEnergies, one of the largest foreign investors in billionare Gautam Adani’s business empire, said it has put on hold participation in Indian conglomerate’s $50 billion hydrogen project pending results of an audit launched following allegations by a US short-seller.

While the partnership with Adani group was announced in June last year, TotalEnergies has not yet signed a contract, the French group’s chief executive Patrick Pouyanne said at earnings call.

As per the June 2022 announcement, TotalEnergies was to take 25 per cent equity in Adani New Industries Ltd (ANIL) - the Adani Group firm that is investing $50 billion over 10 years in green hydrogen ecosystem that includes an initial production capacity of 1 million tonnes before 2030.

“Obviously, the hydrogen project will be put on hold until we have clarity,” Pouyanne said.

TotalEnergies, which has an exposure of $3.1 billion in Adani group, will wait for the result of an audit launched by the conglomerate in response to allegations of accounting and financial fraud levelled by Hindenburg Research.

Adani group has vehemently denied the allegations, calling them malicious and an “attack on India”.
