As soon as I assumed the responsibility of the consti tutional head of the state, my first priority was to make efforts on my part to ed to the Constitution of the country in the public mind. ime starts flying with wings when you move towards the path of accomplishment with determination. PROGRESSYEARS

There has been a close relationship with Rajasthan from the very beginning. When I came here, the culture of ‘Padharo Mhare Desh’ was already settled in my mind and I have been experiencing it here continuously for three years. I also have a constant feeling that I belong to Rajasthan, probably because of the intimacy and affection the people here have given me. It has made me fertile every day.

If Manasa-Vacha and Karmana are one, then many things can be possible on their own. I have also felt this continuously. The legis lature is the most sacred place in the Constitution. The resolution was proved when the tradition of read ing the Preamble and Fun damental Duties of the Con stitution before my address was introduced. Another important step in this path of Sankalp Siddhi is the es tablishment of the Consti tution Park in Raj Bhavan under the Smart City Scheme of the Government of India. It is being devel oped in such a way that the entire journey from the ini tial days of constitutionmaking to its implementa tion can be brought alive in the Raj Bhavan. It has also been the re solve that I should do some thing from my side while living up to the trust of the people of Rajasthan. I vis ited Jaisalmer, Barmer, Banswara, Kota, Udaipur, Bikaner etc. and during this, I found that people have the feeling of being satisfied even in a little bit. I tried to expand the Gover nor’s Relief Fund. I tried that it could be useful to every needy person. In the critical period of covid, by convening an allparty meeting, it was en sured that there is no hu man loss anywhere due to lack of medical equipment. In the recent past, lumpy skin disease in cows has caused a lot of damage. On the initiative of Raj Bhavan, after convening a meeting in this regard, a special review was made to ensure that ef fective efforts should be made to prevent infection. Along with the develop ment of basic facilities in the tribal areas, it was also resolved to establish an ideal village and to provide coaching and other facili ties to the youth of the trib al areas in a time-bound manner. It is heartening that a lot of important work has been done in the tribal areas during the last three years. Similarly, in the light of the new education policy in the universities, many works related to ensuring quality education, adoption of villages by the universi ties and their development etc. have been done in these three years. BJP WILL PREPARE ROADMAP FOR OBC VOTE BANK Sangeeta Sharma

Jodhpur: In the assembly elections to be held next year in Rajasthan, BJP is trying to reach power by playing the OBC card this time. For this, the BJP has taken the initiative to manage the OBC vote bank on the pretext of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar. Now the BJP is organizing a three-day meeting of the National Working Committee of the OBC Morcha at Hotel Lake View, located on Kaylana Road, Jodhpur. In the last assembly elections, Congress managed to get majority with the help of OBC vote bank. The largest share in the OBCs belongs to the Jat community and the politics of the state is dominated by Jats. At the same time, about 12 percent voters of the state are from the Jat community. Jat votes prove to be decisive in sixty seats out of two hundred seats in the state. This is the reason why Jat candidates have won 43 seats in the last elections. At the same time, Congress has also a good hold on the Mali and Vishnoi vote banks included in the OBC. This is the reason that in OBC-dominated Marwar and Shekhawati, the Congress played bets on the most OBC candidates and the BJP had to suffer a crushing defeat. OBC candidates were more among those who won the elections in Shekhawati and Marwar. Because of this, the BJP has made up its mind to play the OBC card in the assembly elections to be held in Raj next year. For this, the BJP has played the trick of wooing the Jat community by making Jagdeep Dhankhar of Shekhawati candidate for VP.

He also said judges should be respected at all times, “They do hard work, they cannot defend themselves, so the bar should take its responsibility.” Acting CJ of Raj HC MM Shrivastava said when Dhankhar used to practice in SC, he used to see him as a junior advocate, but today when he has become VP, there is no change in his behavior. Kolkata (PTI): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday said she and her counterparts in neighbouring Bihar and Jharkhand will join hands with several other opposition parties to oust the BJP from power in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. While addressing a party programme here, Banerjee, also the Trinamool Congress supremo, claimed that the BJP would face a rout because of its arrogance and people's anger. “I, Nitish Kumar, Hemant Soren and many others will come together in 2024. All opposition parties will join hands to defeat the BJP. All of us will be on one side and the BJP on the other. The BJP’s arrogance of 300 seats will be its nemesis. There will be ‘Khela Hobe’ in 2024,” she said. ‘Khela Hobe’ (game is on) had been the battle cry of the TMC during the high-octane Assembly polls last year, in which the party defeated the BJP to storm back to power for the third consecutive term. Renni Abraham Mumbai: The Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court has curbed the lackadaisical approach of district level Caste Certificate Scrutiny Committees to deny an applicant the status of an ordinary resident of the state through a brief inquiry. The court has mandated that not only must the inquiry to determine the fact of residential status of the applicant be conducted by the Vigilance Cell, if needed, but also allow the applicant to produce evidence regarding her or his residential status. The bench was hearing a petition filed by a woman aggrieved over her verification of her caste certificate. It held that the question of normal residence of a person for the purpose of verification of caste certificate cannot be settled without an inquiry by Vigilance Cell and after giving concerned person opportunity to give evidence. The ruling is likely to set a precedent for scores of such caste certificate scrutiny cases where migrant citizens from one state settled in another find the home state caste certificate being rendered invalid adversely impacting their educational and professional service conditions and other benefit due to them as a result of not being recognized in the state they migrated to.

Mahesh Sharma New Delhi: Ghulam Nabi Azad has not only announced floating a party but has declared the agenda of his party and it has become clear as to what will be his election strategy? He will do politics by tak ing hard line. Just as other regional parties of Kashmir Valley i.e. National Conference, PDP, Apni Party etc. are doing politics in the same way Azad’s party will also do poli tics. Though there is a perception that he will be BJP’s B team and is forming a political party to benefit the BJP, but his agenda will be ‘hard line’, only then he will be able to get votes in Kashmir Valley. If he also car ried on with BJP’s agenda, he will get votes neither in Jam mu nor in the Valley. He will have to show with his agenda and campaign that he is not BJP’s B team, but is fighting BJP as well. That’s when he told three agendas of the party in his rally be fore announcing the party. Azad told that he will work to restore the statehood of Jammu and Kashmir. This is not an agenda as the government has said that it will restore statehood. Jammu and Kashmir is not going to be a union territory till eternity. The only question is whether statehood will be re stored before the as sembly elections or will it happen after that. But the next two agendas are consid ered ‘hard-line’. He said that his party will ensure that only peo ple of Jammu and Kashmir get jobs in the state and only local people can buy land. That is, outsiders can neither buy land nor do jobs. This is the agenda of parties like PDP and National Conference. But this will not happen be cause then the purpose of abolishing Article 370 and 35A will not be fulfilled. Azad also knows this, yet he will do politics on these is sues to claim himself as the messiah of the Muslims of the valley. He knows that only then they will get votes and he will be able to fulfill the purpose of BJP to some extent.

 Do you think that the social fabric is being torn and there will be a civil war like situation? What will happen ultimately? The intellectuals and knowledgeable people think on these lines that what will happen if it is not stopped. The biggest onus of stopping this lies on PM Narendra Modi and BJP and the NDA government. If they do this, we all will help them in increasing the love, brotherhood and faith between people. We are not against anyone, there is no fight other than that of the ideology. They should thus understand that we are fighting the ideological battle in a democratic manner. But why should there be discord within the society, no one will like that. This polarisation will also stop.

If people don’t stay united, how will this land stay 'Akhand': Gehlot

peaking to Amit Mishra, Consulting Editor Bharat24, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot opens up about the reason for taking out the Bharat Jodo Yatra by Congress, the current political clime and the onus which Rahul Gandhi has put on keeping the nation one. Excerpts:  Why did you feel there was a need for this Yatra now?

Birla lends a patient ear to masses during ‘public hearing’

RHB has realised the resolve of CM: UDH Min Dhariwal l UDH Minister, Education Minister and MoS Home praise RHB Commissioner Pawan Arora l Board’s team working hard and diligently under the leadership of RHB Commissioner, they said MUKHYAMANTRI SHIKSHAK AVAM PRAHARI AWASIYA YOJANA

 How do you see the pressure of constitutional institutions on political parties? Also, how do you evaluate that situation in context to the Yatra? Whether it is ED, CBI or Income Tax, they are being misused. They have created terror. Moreover, the people in these agencies also have some conscience, they have families and friends and ultimately they will ask them what terror are these people creating in the nation.

From Pg 1... Gehlot said that “it is necessary to tell the present generation the history of sacrifices that were made for freedom and the history of 75 years of development. If you will not tell and celebrate Amrit Mahotsav, then it will merely be your (BJP) event. But if these truths are not told to new generation, then when they will take over the country, they will have regret in their hearts that the previous government has ended the old glorious history.” Talking about the Bharat Jodo Yatra, he said, “People from all over the nation will give the message of love, peace and goodwill so that the country becomes strong & united, the social fabric which is weakening, should be strong.” “The politics of tension and violence has been started and people are fed up with it. Rahulji said that his grandmother was killed but the nation remained one. He said that his father was killed because of anger & hate and that he wants the nation to remain united without hatred & that’s why he has taken out this journey. Such an important thing has been said, the entire nation understands it, but those who are ruling, don’t. Rahul ji has set out to create history. Earlier he went to Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad and started Bharat Jodo Yatra with the message of truth & non-violence. The response received in journey is extraordinary. Rahul Gandhi’s journey will give the message of love and brotherhood,” Gehlot said.

In such a situation, the timely completion of this big project of 576 flats is definitely a big success of the Housing Board." On this occasion, Arora appealed to allottees, who took ownership of the flat, that the facilities which have been provided to them by the Board, everyone should present a perfect example of community living by helping to sustain them. He said that the remaining allottees would be handed over the flat keys and possession letters soon after setting up a help desk in the scheme premises.

“Unfortunately, only three months after this, Corona knocked and due to the lockdown, economic and development activities all over the world came to a standstill. Even in these difficult situations, all the necessary work related to inviting applications and finalising the tender process was completed in a short span of only 5 months and I laid the foundation stone of the scheme on May 27, 2020,” Dhariwal said. “Despite this, the work continued at the ground level in this project and today the result is in front of everyone.

See, the entire nation’s situation is bad and till the time we, the people from various castes and religions, do not become united, since this is a land where there is unity in diversity, then how will this land stay ‘Akhand’. Indira Gandhi gave her life for this land, Rajiv Gandhi got martyred, Sardar Beant Singh got martyred, but they kept the nation united. Today the atmosphere of love, brotherhood and faith has declined which is a worrying issue. Rahul Gandhi and we all want that the nation should stay one and united and there is harmony and love between people and the social fabric stays strong.

Barely after two years, a total of 576 2BHK flats have been constructed on the stipulated time. All this was possible due to the pleasant change in the functioning and the professional approach of the employees of the Housing Board,” he said. “We got RHB in a dilapidated and bad condition. The houses were not being sold and the treasury was empty. In such a situation, with the commitment to revive the housing board, CM Gehlot asked me in the first cabinet meeting if we can revive the RHB? To this, I said why not. I just want qualified and efficient officer. On this, the CM entrusted the responsibility of housing board to Pawan Arora and he has done this work very well. Today the RHB has reached even above its revival stage. Today there is a competition among the people to buy houses built by the Housing Board. CM Ashok Gehlot

Did you have any moment where you thought of giving up and couldn’t do it? Yes when I won the pageant in my country it was during the dark Pandemic time so things were hard on me as I am also a student and with the online classes it takes time. I couldn’t manage time to go out and take classes I had to learn everything all by myself. The other countries comparatively had better conditions to work on. So that kind of shook me but my determination to get the first ever crown home kept me moving.

www.firstindia.co.in

19 countries from all over the world competing were for the title, what kept you motivated to win the pageant? We all came together from different parts of the world and I was amazed by the fact that how different we all were. I just loved the diversity of culture in our pageant. They all made me feel at home while we shared the different stories of our culture and traditions. There was more sisterhood than competition between us. The fact that I just had to take the crown back home to Vietnam kept me motivated for the win. And I guess I did well.

Your win has inspired many out there what will you like to share with them?

ASHISH TIWARI cityfirst@firstindia.co.in

At the same to work in the educational field because I believe working in that sector will help me contribute to the crowd of the world as long as there will be a hunger for knowledge and Talent in our life. How has your experience in India Been? It feels great here. I always wanted to come here to study but Now I got a chance to explore it before. The hospitality and warmth of the people here cannot be described in words. They have such different flavours in food all rich in their culture. My favourite was the Naan Cake which was like Pancakes. And lastly, India’s sightseeing has my heart it’s such galore especially the Taj Mahal that we saw during the pageant was breathtaking. Another very memorable evening was when Jagdeesh Chandra and First India hosted us at Jaipur, the evening at Taj Rambagh was like a dream and we can never thank Jagdeesh Chandra sir enough for his kind hospitality and motivation.

Coming from Vietnam on your way to winning the title how has your experience been? It’s my pride to represent my country on an international level at such a young age. I like speaking to the contestants here and talking to them about their country and culture while I could share mine. What has been your throughout?Inspiration My dad is my biggest Inspiration. I have seen him struggle for the success he has earned now. I had been to many pageants before Miss Teen International but I feel I found Myself here. I think I have achieved success as I can participate in an international pageant and bring back a crown. What Is Your Dream? My dream is to be an influencer.

What was the Preparation Like? Firstly I had to work on my speaking communication especially public speaking at the same time I had to work on my performance. I joined classes for my modelling sessions also the most important part of the looks had to be taken care of for which I have met many designers in Vietnam so that I can be a part of the International Platform as a perfect Contestant.

Jagdeesh Chandra with Miss Teen International Ngô Ngoc Gia Hân

As everything was shut down due to covid for two years it was a long time to prepare for the show. How did you do it and what was the determination behind it? I got crowned in Vietnam during the ongoing Pandemic. It was a hard time as I had to do all the training by myself at my home. But today everything is worth it because today I hold the crown. And it’s not just because of my hard work but also the love and support I have received from the people around me that motivated me to participate in this International Platform.

My dream is to Inspire people to education. We need to focus on that as I believe education is something that would change our lives. I just want to tell them that one needs to prepare for their journey and educate themselves for a better future ahead. Also at the same time shouldn’t shy away from showcasing their talent out there. It will only help you be perfect in your craft.

12ETC JAIPUR | FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 2022www.firstindia.co.in I https://firstindia.co.in/epapers/jaipur twitter.com/thefirstindia I facebook.com/thefirstindia I instagram.com/thefirstindia hen did this idea of homestays or renting out party places come to you? It was 4 years back when I went to Russia with my friends and booked a house on Airbnb for our stay, our experience was so nice because in the house or apartment you’ll get a large common area and your rooms are always safe and clean to sleep. I had this property for the past 15 years and it was of no use because it was empty and not that great interiors. So I decided to construct a new floor and renovated the old floor completely. Then the pandemic hit and people were looking for places for birthday almostwequaintancesqueriesonly,mythewerelor/get-togethersparties/bache-etc.Andwealmostreadyforit,soinstarting,IusedtoletoutpropertytomyfriendsthenIstartedgettingfromfriendsandac-andthat’showstarted.Rightnowweare85-90%booked. Homestays do not have the advantage of scale that hotels have in terms of operations. What challenges did you face in preparing your properties and regaining guests’ trust post-COVID? A lot of people who had never looked at private vacation homes as an option for accommodation started opting for them because unlike hotels, they did not have any shared spaces. The reopening of our homes was a combination of people, processes, and technology. When I say people, it meant getting our people completely aware and sensitised to the fact that we are in very different times. We have invested a good amount in electronics like Big Smart Tvs, ambient lighting, a fully equipped kitchen, 24 hours housekeeping, a proper wet bar, 100% crockery and cutlery. Everything here is premium and handpicked. What do you feel makes a homestay stand out from the rest? How can they thrive when competing with established hotels? When compared to a 5-star, our villas have a story, unique experiences and touchpoints. While we aim to match up to the 5-star certainty, we are different from them in a way that there are standardisations.no What are the current challenges for the luxury homestay segment in India? One of the biggest challenges that this segment faces is the high GST rates (18%). Because of this, guests are tempted to pay in cash to unscrupulous operators. What is your target audience? While at the start, we saw families opting for it, the demand has now expanded to celebrations and corporates, too. People want to have intimate celebrations against naturally picturesque backdrops, and we provide endto-end services for that. We have already hosted milestone birthdays, weddings and anniversaries so far. When it comes to corporates, people want to break free from the work-from-home concept, even if for a bit. And our Peace House is perfect for day events and overnight stays for small to mediumsized teams. What is your strategy for Peace House in the coming months? We want to focus all our energies on acquiring more properties. Apart from this, our focus is on celebrations—big and small. For instance, we are planning to have more pool places, indoor, outdoor and private ones for our clients.
