In a news related to the announcement of 100 units of free electricity in the state, free 100 units electricity will be available only on one domestic connection. The state finance department has given approval to the Discoms for this after considering all the necessary factors.

plan had quite some loopholes and several situations were identified in which it could have been misused and the department would have to incurr the losses.

Global acceptance for Crypto is on the rise

According to the latest report of the Global Adoption Index 2022, the behaviour related to investment in crypto currency is increasing continuously, and on this side, India is currently ranked fourth position in the world, while the US is positioned fifth

The trend of crypto currency in India has become more popular than in America these days. It seems very surprising at first glance, but the figures confirm this fact.

According to the latest report of the Global Adoption Index 2022, the behaviour related to investment in crypto currency is increasing continuously, and on this side, India is currently ranked fourth position in the world, while the US is positioned fifth. The first three places are occupied by Vietnam, the Philippines, and Ukraine.India’s position is even more surprising because the current Indian economic policies are not very encouraging regarding crypto. Despite this, if India is standing at the fourth position in the world, then certainly this situation forces us to ponder.

CRYPTO TO BE STRONGER IN FEW YEARS

Two budgets ago, the Government of India made a provision of 30 percent tax on profits from investing in crypto, and the mention of non-adjustment of losses still exists in the Indian tax system. In India, it has been seen for sometime now that in order to get attractive returns on financial investments, the affluent section of society prefers to invest in crypto in their portfolio. This thing also seems reasonable because interest rates have been decreasing continuously for the last few years, due to which banking deposits and government bonds are not looking very profitable. On this side, it is also clear that if the Indian society is showing its inclination towards financial investment in crypto, then it is taking this risk on its own because there is no provision in the government policies in this regard. The lack of correct financial information regarding crypto has kept it an unresolved issue in society. Financial transactions can be done in two ways through crypto.

First: to use as currency for payment and receipt of various transactions.

It is certain that in the coming few years, crypto currencies will definitely be stronger and will make inroads into financial investments along with payment of transactions.

India’s position on crypto is clear on financial investments, but it is not clear with regard to business transactions.

For many years to come, it is difficult for crypto to get a place in the Indian market as a currency against the rupee.

Second: Making financial investments in crypto as an asset and earning profits from its price fluctuations.

It is very important to make it clear here that, till now, financial investments in crypto have been made in India only as an asset and have not been used as a currency in business transactions at all. Here, it is also very important to look at the fact that crypto is being used around the world as a currency in business transactions, mainly due to the following circumstances. First - when inflation in a country goes to such a large level that its negative effects greatly reduce the value of the domestic currency

of that country, that is, the situation of devaluation of the currency in the domestic market. In such a situation, crypto is used by the citizens themselves as payment in their transactions in exchange for a foreign currency. Latin American countries such as Argentina, Venezuela, Peru, etc. can be included in this regard. The second condition is that, when the banking system in any country is not highly developed and protective financial facilities are not available for the consumers in the domestic market. Even in that situation, the citizens can use crypto in their bank accounts for the protection of their own interests. An example of this is being seen very rapidly in a country like Vietnam. Under the third situation, when some countries keep restrictions on the movement of their own currency and foreign currency, crypto is being used as a medium for payment and receipt of various imports and exports. Along with this, remittances are also sent by non-resident citizens to their country. This can be seen between Russia and China. Some producers in China carry financial transactions in their country through crypto from Russia. The fourth situation is of those countries that have reached a level of economic distress due to sudden acute shortages of foreign exchange in the recent past such as Sri Lanka and Pakistan . In both these countries, the trend to-

India is currently the chairman of the G-20 countries and it is expected that in its meeting to be held in August, India will definitely push for a uniform tax system and economic policies by the developed countries globally regarding financial investment in crypto. On this side, it is also very important to understand that Indian economic policies are not encouraging with regard to financial investment in crypto right now. There is no constitutional body in India and there are no legal provisions available through which the interests of consumers can be prevented from economic loss

wards crypto has been increasing very fast for the last few years, and it is probably because their countries have negligible dollars in foreign exchange and gold storage is also very low, so crypto is considered an alternative medium. In the report of Global Adoption Index, Pakistan has been counted at the 6th position regarding the transaction practices of crypto currency.

Another perspective is that the quick rise in crypto currency is also influenced by international diplomacy. Since a while ago, whenever the central banks of numerous large nations across the world purchased substantial quantities of gold, there has been concern

that perhaps all of this is being done to weaken the status of the dollar internationally. The dollar was artificially boosted against the currencies of every country in the world due to the Fed’s control of interest policy over the previous fiscal year, which led to several issues in this age of globalisation. The abrupt increase in domestic inflation was the main issue in this. Positive effects can also be seen from the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

It is certain that in the coming few years, crypto currencies will definitely be stronger and will make inroads into financial investments along with payment of transactions. India’s position on crypto is clear on

financial investments, but it is not clear with regard to business transactions. For many years to come, it is difficult for crypto to get a place in the Indian market as a currency against the rupee. In this context, India’s own digital currency is also under discussion by India’s central bank under the budget for the current financial year and will give priority to business transactions in the coming time. Crypto is definitely being used by Indian society in financial investments but on this side the Indian tax system is a bit rigid and complex. In the coming time, if some policies regarding financial investment in crypto are clear globally, then only the complexities related to it in the Indian tax system can be removed. There is no constitutional body in India and there are no legal provisions available through which the interests of consumers can be prevented from economic loss.

WHAT ‘CONDITION’ HAS CONGRESS PUT IN FRONT OF NITISH?

new marathon of the opposition unity has started, for which Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar has become the chief architect. The first meeting of the opposition unit is called in Patna on June 23, in which both Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge can attend representing the Congress. Apart from this, senior opposition leaders like Mamata Banerjee, Sharad Pawar, Akhilesh Yadav, Hemant Soren and MK Stalin have also agreed to attend this meeting. Only the issue of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Telangana CM KCR is still stuck. Actually, it is the Congress party which does not want him to be seen on the same stage with these two leaders. Assembly elections are also due in Telangana in the coming few months, so the Congress fears that if it is seen sharing

a common platform with KCR, then its votes in the state may be transferred to KCR’s party ‘BRS’. The emphasis of the Congress was to convene this meeting in Shimla, but when Nitish explained that this new alliance of the opposition unity should start from the land of Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan, who shook the stove of the then ruling Delhi with his moral force, the Congress leaders accepted. Congress also wants that the new alliance that is taking shape to replace the UPA should meet at regular intervals. If sources to be believed, after Patna, the next meeting of this alliance can be held in any Congress-ruled state like Himachal Pradesh or Rajasthan. Sources also reveal that Sharad Pawar could be made president of this new alliance and Nitish could be its convenor.

WHO WILL BE THE NEW GHAZI OF GHAZIPUR IN UPCOMING BY-POLL?

Afzal Ansari, who was a MP from Ghazipur Lok Sabha constitueny in UP, lost his membership when he was sentenced to 4 years by the court in a case. Now gearing up for Ghazipur by-election, J&K Governor Manoj Sinha, who won the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Ghazipur Lok Sabha seat and lost in 2019, wants to get his daughter-in-law Deepali or son Anubhav Sinha a BJP ticket to retain his hold on this seat. On other hand, UP

CM Yogi Adityanath wants to field Radhemohan Singh, his cousin and prominent leader of SP. Ghazipur used to be a Bhumihar majority seat, but in delimitation, 2 major Bhumihar seats here were included in Mohammadabad and Jahurabad Ballia and now Rajput and Yadav votes have become decisive. Anyway, Yogi argues that Rajputs alone have a cut of 19% Yadav votes and 10% Muslim votes in Ghazipur. Chandrashekhar’s son and Rajya Sabha

MP Neeraj Shekhar is also eyeing this seat. The claim to this seat is also of Virendra Singh Mast.

BABULAL MARANDI CAN BE NEXT PRESIDENT OF JHARKHAND BJP

Ever since the sting of the Karnataka elections, the round of brainstorming meetings is going on continuously in the BJP. Just last Friday, Amit Shah, BL Santhosh and JP Nadda had an important meeting with BJP general secretaries. Actually, this whole exercise of the saffron party is for the upcoming 2024 general elections where party does not want to appear weak. The first step in this episode can be to change the state presidents. Earlier, the party had appointed new presidents in Bihar, Rajasthan, Delhi and Odisha. But many of these leaders are not able to live up to the expectations.

In UP too, the Jat leader of Western UP, Bhupendra Chaudhary, was given the presidential innings, but BJP leadership is not said to be happy. Maharashtra and J’khand are also preparing to bring new presidents. In J’khand, the party wants to bet on a tribal face as the state prez and at present former CM Babulal Marandi is said to be leading this race.

WHEN WILL THE BY-ELECTIONS OF CHANDRAPUR AND PUNE BE HELD?

Due to the death of BJP MP from Pune, Girish Bapat and Cong MP from Chandrapur, Suresh Narayan alias Balu Dhanorkar in Maharashtra, by-polls are to be held on these 2 Lok Sabha seats. There is also a possibility that the bypolls to these two seats should be held along with the Maharashtra Assembly elections. Sources reveal that the BJP wants to hold the Maharashtra Assembly elections ahead of time so that it can overcome the current political instability there. The BJP is asking its former MP Hansraj Gangaram Ahir, who is currently the chairman of the National Commission for Backward Classes, to contest the Chandrapur bypoll. Sources reveal that he turned down the party leadership’s ‘offer’ saying that only a few months are left for 2024 general elections, thus what is the point of pouring so much money into elections for few months. In such a situation, Fadnavis has offered Pratibha Dhanorkar, the MLA wife of late Dhanorkar, to contest the elections on a BJP ticket.

WHO WILL REPLACE PRIYANKA IN UP?

The process of change in the Congress organization is going on. Because Priyanka Gandhi has left UP & taken up Madhya Pradesh, so the search is on for a new incharge for UP. If sources to be believed, the Priyanka camp is putting forward Tariq Anwar’s name for UP in-charge, but senior party leaders like Salman Khurshid are opposing this. Salman argues that since a Thakur is CM in UP, the Congress should put a Brahmin face in charge of UP instead of a Muslim. In this episode, the name of Brahmin leader Satyavrat Chaturvedi of Madhya Pradesh is being put forward. Although the former Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat has expressed his desire to retire from politics on many occasions, yet a section is advocating his name as UP incharge. It is said that the party will decide on UP incharge only after Rahul returns from America. At the same time, there is a lot of talk about replacing the state president of Maharashtra, Nana Patole. It is said that the Mahavikas Aghadi alliance has complained to the Congress high command on several occasions regarding this state president of the Congress that Patole’s unnecessary rhetoric harms the alliance religion. In such a situation, there is a buzz of giving the command of Maharashtra to a senior Congressman.

NCERT won’t remove chief advisors’ name from its textbooks

New Delhi

The withdrawal of association by an individual from a NCERT textbook is "out of question" as the books at the school level are "developed based on the state of knowledge and understanding of a given subject, and therefore at no stage, individual authorship is claimed", the National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has said.

The NCERT clarification came in response to a request by political scientists Yogendra Yadav and Suhas Palshikar to remove their names as chief advisors from political science textbooks after a rationalisation exercise was conducted that saw several chapters deleted or trimmed.

The NCERT stated that Yadav and Palshikar were chief advisors in the Textbook Development Committees (TDC) set up during 2005-08. “These committees were purely academic in nature and existed until the textbooks were developed,” it said.
