The very severe cyclonic storm Biparjoy turned into an extremely severe cyclonic storm at 5.30 am Sunday. However, it may not hit Gujarat as per the current forecast, said an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official on Saturday. The cyclone will bring thunderstorms and strong wind in Gujarat in the next five days as it is likely to pass at a distance of 200-300 km from the Porbandar coast.

In its latest forecast, the IMD said the cyclone will move northnortheastwards gradually during the next 24 hours, before moving north-north-westward during the subsequent three days.
The IMD has issued a heavy rainfall warning for several districts in Gujarat, including Kutch, Devbhumi Dwarka, Porbandar, Jamnagar, Rajkot, Junagarh, and Morbi. It has also recommended the complete suspension of fishing operations in the east-central, west-central and north Arabian Sea till June 15.

DUE TO BAD WEATHER
New Delhi: An Amritsar-Ahmedabad IndiGo flight entered Pakistan airspace on Saturday after running into bad weather, officials said. Speaking to ANI, an IndiGo official said, “Due to bad weather, the flight from Amritsar to Ahmedabad entered Pakistani airspace yesterday.” Flight 6e-645 took off from Amritsar around 20:00 hrs and landed safely at Ahmedabad at around 21:40 hrs after briefly straying into Pakistani airspace.

Tamil Nadu: UNEP Executive Director Erik Solheim has said that India is particularly vulnerable to climate change because of its heavy population. “You see the effects of climate change everywhere in the world. But of course, India is particularly vulnerable to climate change because it has a heavy population and the kind of nature of India makes it more vulnerable than most other places,” Solheim said during a Youth 20 (Y20) talk on climate action. Y20 is an official consultation forum for youth from all G20 member countries to be able to dialogue with each other. The UNEP Executive Director said that India is facing the same environmental issues as the planet at large.
There is massive pollution, in particular in northern Indian cities like Delhi that are very polluted. India is facing climate change and is more vulnerable to climate change than the United States. America and India have been facing the loss of nature, destruction of forest, wiping out of a number of animals.

White tigress has given birth to three cubs at Maitri Bagh zoo in Chhattisgarh’s Durg district, officials said on Sunday.
With the birth of these cubs, news of which was made public on Saturday, the number of white tigers in the zoo located in Bhilai city, about 35 kilometres away from Raipur, has reached nine, they said.

An official probe into India's rail crash is focusing on suspected manual bypassing of an automated signalling system that guides train movementan action investigators believe sent a packed express train into a stationary freight train, three Indian Railways sources informed.
The Commission of Railway Safety (CRS) investigators suspect the bypass was done by rail- way workers to get around signalling hurdles that arose from a malfunctioning barrier used to stop road traffic at a nearby rail-road intersection, two of the three sources said.
