Jaipur: Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Sunday unveiled the statue of Martyr Nayak Narpat Singh at Rajmathai in Jaisalmer through video conference. Paying homage, he said that the sacrifice of the martyrs inspires all to be ready to serve with body, mind, and wealth for the security of the country and to sacrifice their lives for sovereignty.

“The statues of martyrs and legends are a source of inspiration for the coming generation. We should take a pledge to serve the country by learning from their values of life,” he said.

News Digest Woman Held In Coaching Student Suicide Case

Kota: A woman was arrested in Kota on Sunday on charges of abetment to suicide, police said. Police informed a coaching student had committed suicide by jumping from the hostel a few days back. “The family members of the deceased have alleged that the woman & her son had threatened the victim, following which she took the extreme step to end her life. The minor son of the woman has also been named in the FIR. The woman has been arrested & the matter is being investigated,” police said.

Jaipur: A complaint against Anukampa Group has been filed with Mahesh Nagar police station seeking FIR against the group for not giving the possession of flat on time.Advocate Lalit Sharma has filed the complaint against group’s Mohan Lal Gupta and Prashant Gupta alleging. Sharma said that he had booked a float in Sky Lounges project of the group on Muhana Mandi road. Possession of the flat was to be given in 2019 but the possession has not been given even after three years.

The CM announced the opening of Mahatma Gandhi English School at Rajmathai on the demand of the common people at the function. He said that the ‘Government Higher Secondary School’ Ransingh Ki Dhani, Jaisalmer has been renamed after ‘Shaheed Narpat Singh’. Narpat Singh was martyred on November 19, 2016 when an army convoy was attacked by a militant group in Assam.

Phone-tapping: Delhi police serves fresh notice to OSD to CM

Jaipur (PTI): Delhi Police has served a notice on Lokesh Sharma, the OSD to the Rajasthan chief minister, asking him to appear on Monday for questioning in a phone-tapping case going back to the July 2020 political crisis.

The notice comes days before Delhi High Court is scheduled to hear the Delhi Police Crime Branch’s application seeking vacating of an interim order staying coercive action against Sharma. Hearing on the Crime Branch application and a petition by Sharma -- the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot -- seeking quashing of the FIR against him is scheduled for February 20.

On March 25, 2021, the Delhi Police registered an FIR against Sharma for criminal conspiracy, criminal breach of trust and unlawfully intercepting telegraphic signals (telephonic conversation) on a complaint lodged by Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, the BJP MP from Jodhpur.

Kota: UDH Minister Shanti Dhariwal on Sunday announced that a new city will be developed in the Ranpur area of Kota. While speaking on the inauguration of the newly built auditorium of the SSI association in Purusharth Bhawan, Dhariwal said that a new city and coaching hub will be developed in Ranpur situated on Jhalawar Road. He said that only Rs 359 crore was sanctioned from the centre government under Smart City, but development works of Rs 4500 crore have been done in Kota.
