Thane (PTI): A fuel pipeline in Thane district, which ruptured and caused a fire that killed one person, has been repaired after 48 hours. The 18-inch line, transporting diesel of BPCL from Mumbai to Manmad, was restored by several agencies working together. The fire broke out due to an underground cable explosion, and an inquiry has been instituted to ensure there is no recurrence. The police are also investigating if fuel was being pilfered from pipeline, as there have been instances of pilferage on this route.
