industrial revolution. That warming has not been uniform, with some regions warming at a far greater pace. One such region is theAArctic.newstudy shows that the Arctic has warmed nearly four times faster than the rest of the world over the past 43 years. This means the Arctic is on average around 3°c warmer than it was in 1980. This is alarming, because the Arctic contains sensitive and delicately balanced climate components that, if pushed too hard, will respond with global consequences. Why is the Arctic warming so much faster?: A large part of the explanation relates to sea ice. This is a thin layer (typically one metre to five metres thick) of sea water that freezes in winter and partially melts in the summer. The sea ice is covered in a bright layer of snow which reflects around 85% of incoming solar radiation back out to space. The opposite occurs in the open ocean. As the darkest natural surface on the planet, the ocean absorbs 90% of solar radiation. When covered with sea ice, the Arctic Ocean acts like a large reflective blanket, reducing the absorption of solar radiation. That’s a different story that our country was left in a much worse state by the English than the history books narrate. Nevertheless, just like the phoenix, India awoke and rose from its ashes to make its presence felt in the Western world as a self-reliant, powerful and a progressing country. Today, we Indians should bow to both the ideologies, of hard-core liberation fighters like Bose, Azad and Bhagat Singh & the unique strategies by the Mahatma of nonviolence, non-cooperation and civil disobedience that joined into the celebrations of what Nehru called ‘India’s tryst with Destiny’. If we go by the theorists, insufficiency, illiteracy and a deeply graded society structure are all considered as unfavourable soil for the sowing and growth of democracy. Yet, while many Afro – Asian countries which achieved Independence around the same time as India terribly failed to initiate or to hold a democratic set up, Indian press and Judiciary upheld their institutional autonomy in spite of some periodic pressures from the federal executive branch. So, what were the major differences between the failed political systems of Pakistan, Bangladesh, Malesia, Turkey, Thailand, Myanmar and many African nations & India? In my personal analysis there are five major reasons why India stands where it is while the troubled regions named above collapsed time and again. First and foremost was to preserve inclusivity in our society. This by and large was the most important achievement of India since independence as India has survived all challenges despite diverse cultures, despite a long proxy war from across the borders and stiff terrorismrelated challenges on domestic front. Yes, against all odds, India’s secular fabric and its amazing unity in diversity have remained intact. Next logical mantra was to Work on the goal of selfreliance. The green revolution of mid-1960s converted agriculture into a modern industrial system by adopting technology, high yielding variety (HYV) seeds, mechanised farm tools, irrigation facilities, pesticides and fertilizers. Indeed, it not only made India feed its teeming millions but empowered it to export surplus stocks. After the success of Green Revolution, the country embarked upon the idea of the White Revolution. The objective was to make India a self-dependent nation & one of

Union minister Nity anand Rai. BJP had made Nity anand Rai state presi dent and later Union Minister of State for Home in the hope that if RJD is weakening, he will bring Yadav votes towards BJP. But now that the RJD has become very strong, there is no political need for Nityanand Rai. Sanjay Jaiswal is also a very weak leader and he will not be able to compete with Nitish and Tejashwi. In such a situation, BJP has the option to forward a Kushwaha leader and that leader is Samrat Chaudhary. He is the son of Shakuni Choud hary, the tallest Kushwaha leader of Bihar and has long po litical experience. Sec ondly, he is a good speaker and a fighting leader. The effect of caste politics in Bihar is such that Yadav and Kushwaha cannot live together. Kushwaha votes for Nitish only when he is with BJP. The Kushwaha commu nity has eight percent votes, which Samrat Chaudhary can associ ate with the BJP. If BJP succesfully manages to bring Chirag Paswan with him and puts oth er upper caste and most backward caste leaders behind him, then there can be a fight.

Sharat K Verma New Delhi: Amit Shah has been the Home Min ister at the Centre for more than three years but till now he has not visited Odisha. For the first time after becom ing the Home Minister, he visited the state re cently. It seems like he was waiting for Drau padi Murmu, who hails from Odisha, to become the President. Soon af ter Murmu became the President, he visited Odisha and claimed that the BJP would soon form its government in the state. One reason for this hope of the BJP is the belief that Naveen Patnaik is old enough and remains ill. He has not made anyone his successor. By taking his close friend Ashwini Vaishnav in its party, BJP has made him min ister of many big minis tries at the center. Through him the BJP is hoping to handle the Biju Janata Dal. But apart from this, it is being told that Amit Shah has shared the roadmap for the next election in the meeting of party workers and leaders. Assembly elec tions in Odisha are held along with the Lok Sab ha and BJP eyes to take advantage of this. The BJP performed well in the Lok Sabha last time but its performance in the Assembly was not the same. The BJP could win only 22 seats in the 147-member assembly.

Thakur claimed that Kejriwal’s outburst against the Centre was to “cover up” allegations of corruption against the ministers in the Delhi govt. “Arvind Kejriwal is not a chief minister, he is a lie minister. He keeps lying from time to time,” the BJP leader alleged. “Their health minister is facing allegations, their deputy chief minister is facing allegations of corruption. This is just a coverup. They do not have anything to say, that is why they are making these false allegations,” ThakurPrimesaid.Minister Narendra Modi’s remarks on ‘revri’ culture last month started a debate on freebies in the country and thereafter a political slugfest is on between the BJP and the AAP on the issue. He said the Central govt led by PM Modi had increased the budget for the rural jobs scheme MGNREGA from Rs 61,500 crore to Rs 1,11,500 crore during the COVID-19 pandemic and provided more work for the poor. “During Covid, we provided free vaccines which was the need of the hour, free food grains for 80 crore Indians for 28 months,” Thakur said. “On the other hand, it was Arvind Kejriwal’s govt that pushed the poor out of Delhi, created fear among them and made them move to their villages,” he Thakuralleged.said gationssonstoDelhisportsmuch-talked-abouttheuniversityofthegovtwasnowherebeseenandsportsper-werelevellingalle-againstthem.

The Angdata Smarak was the initiative of the organization MOHAN Foundation Jaipur Citizen Forum which was inaugurated by Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot on 27th November 2020 on the occasion of National Organ Donation Day. Angdata Smarak is India’s first Organ Donor Memorial Monument near Central Park, Prithvi Raj Road, Jaipur, which was a dream project of MFJCF. The Chairman MFJCF- Rajiv Arora dedicated the Organ Donor memorial to the memory of beloved Organ Donors of Rajasthan and it shall inspire people for the noble cause of Organ Donation. The design of the Samark is inspired by the famous sculpture of Jaipur- ‘Jantar Mantar’. Angdata Smaarak is the epitome of love and compassion towards mankind and it stands tall as a mark of respect for those enlightened families who set an example by donating organs in the service of mankind and gave gift of life to the people who w’ere in need of organs. The Convener of MFJCF Bhawna Jagwani told that they pioneered the project of Organ Donation in the State and have been working for the noble cause for the last seven years this saving over 125 lives through the donated organs. Dalmia Cement has powered the monument which is designed by the Jaipur designer of National repute Samir Wheaton. The Smarak shall stand tall as a symbol of selfless Service to Mankind. Ravi Kamra, a member of MFJCF told City First that the idea was born when Bhawna Jagwani, the Chief Convener of MFJCF, while moving around in the city, stopped at a red light and thought that if we can get a Circle or a Tiraha we can cultivate beautiful plants and flowers and name it as Angdata Circle to be a mark of respect and remembrance. It was a good idea of course and in the meeting all the volunteers and members agreed to the idea. MFJCF team got busy in getting all permissions and setting up a state of art sculpture. The Treasurer, Anil Bakshi pushed forward the pace keeping an eye on expenditures all around but as per Bhavna, the cause is such that people come forward on their own and good things take a life of their own!Meanwhile “Universe” brought in Sameer Wheatonthe Jaipur Designer & Architect of National repute. And he promised to do the honours without any commercial aspect. Sundeep Kumar who himself had a passion for Organ Donation managed the help of Dalmia Cement as the Sponsor of the concrete Statue.
