New Delhi (ANI): Airlines carried 9.07 million passengers in July compared to 10.5 million in June, registering a decline of 7.6% in passenger traffic, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said in a report released on Thursday.DGCA director general Arun Kumar said they expect a speedy recovery in passenger numbers and foresee traffic reaching the preCovid levels in the fourth quarter of the year with the removal of the fare cap from September 1. The airlines recorded passenger traffic of 12 million in May, 11 million in April, and 10.6 million in March. Ghaziabad (UP) (PTI): Four members of a family, including a minor, were killed and another was injured on Thursday when the SUV they were travelling in collided with a stationary vehicle on the DME in this district, police said. The accident took place near Kushaliya village on the DelhiMeerut expressway (DME), they said. Five people were travelling in the SUV at the time of the accident. Four of the five died on the spot while a 10-yearold girl was severely injured. She was rushed to a hospital for treatment, police said. SP (Rural) Iraj Raja said the victims, residents of Haryana, were travelling from Haridwar to Rohtak. The deceased have been identified as Sumit (34), Yagit (7), Tejpal (48) and his wife Babli (40). The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, police said. The driver of the unidentified vehicle fled the spot after the crash. New Delhi (PTI): The Union health ministry has asked eight designated hospitals that treat rare diseases to set up an expert committee each, which will decide on providing the cash aid of Rs 50 lakh within a month of receiving an application for financial assistance from a patient.Theeight Centres of Excellence (CoEs) will also be given one-time financial support up to Rs 5 crore for procurement of equipment for strengthening patients care services for screening, diagnosis and prevention (prenatal diagnosis) for rare diseases based on a gap analysis, according to the new guidelines issued by the healthAlso,ministry.moreCoEs will be added for regional outreach if they are found to be suitable in terms of infrastructure and human resources based on recommendations of the Technical Committee of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the guidelines said. The ministry on August 11 issued the guidelines and procedures for granting financial assistance to patients suffering from rare diseases as Nationalcellhaemophilia,thalassemia,andsickleanaemiaunderthePolicyforRare Diseases (NPRD), 2021. The ministry on May 19 increased the financial support from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 50 lakh for patients belonging to all categories of rare diseases. According to the guidelines, a ‘Rare Disease Committee’ is to be constituted in each CoE. The nodal officer for rare disease of the hospital will be the member secretary of the committee and the CoE may also opt for an outside expert on the panel, if required. The applications received from the patients or guardians will first be scrutinized by the nodal officer, and thereafter placed before the committee for consideration and approval. The instant case is related to the theft of gold ornaments worth Rs 10 lakh from Kajal’s employer Vipul Goel’s house in Ghaziabad.Indirapuram Circle Officer Abhay Mishra said Kajal, who is in her late thirties, was arrested from Amrapali village society on the basis of CCTV footage with stolen gold ornaments worth Rs 3 lakh in her possession.Mishrasaid that during interrogation Kajal said she had planned this theft with the help of her accomplice Bunty.According to their plan, Kajal engaged Vipul Goel’s wife in a conversation, and Bunty stole the ornaments from an almirah. New Delhi (PTI): The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) has initiated a study on the condition of Hindu women refugees from Pakistan residing in Majnu Ka Tila area. They have also not been granted citizenship despite several requests,” it said. Apart from carrying out a study, the DCW will also be issuing notices to various government departments to ascertain the steps taken by them to resolve the issues faced by the Hindu refugees. Further, the commission will give recommendations to these government bodies seeking rehabilitation of the Hindu refugees living in Majnu ka Tila, it said. DCW chief Swati Maliwal said, “I have met these Hindu refugees at Majnu ka Tila. They are living in the most pathetic conditions. Reptiles often sneak into their kutcha houses.”
Ghaziabad (PTI): A suspected serial burglar who worked as a domestic help and allegedly stole from around 100 houses, including in Delhi, Jodhpur, and Kolkata, has been arrested, police here said. The woman, with 26 cases in the National Capital Region alone, would travel by air to various cities she worked in, a police officer said Wednesday. She mainly stole gold ornaments from her employers, and built a house for herself in Delhi allegedly with the proceeds of the crime, hePoonamsaid.

Puri assured the Rohingya refugees that they “will be provided basic ameni ties, UNHCR IDs” and round the clock police protection. The Union minister’s welcom ing assurances were rejected by the Union Home ministry which stated a few hours later denying any move to resettle the “illegal refugees”. The Home ministry said that it had not given any directions to pro vide EWS flats to the illegal migrants. Jamshedpur: Fifteen people were sentenced to death by a court in Jharkhand’s East Singhbhum district on Thursday for killing an inmate of the Ghaghidih Central Jail in Jamshedpur during a clash between two groups in 2019. The court of additional district judge-4 Rajendra Kumar Sinha sentenced the 15 people to death by hanging after convicting them under IPC sections 302 (murder) and 120B (criminal conspiracy), additional public prosecutor Rajeev Kumar said.

Bengal SSC scam: In a first, Calcutta HC permits journalists to record court proceedings on phone Kolkata (ANI): In an unprecedented move, Calcutta High Court judge Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay permitted journalists to record proceedings on mobile phones while hearing the matter of Sukanya - Anubrata Mondol’s daughter on Thursday. She was appearing in connection with a plea alleging she was recruited as a teacher without clearing the TET. Multiple lawyers appearing before the Court immediately objected. The Calcutta HC on Wednesday had directed Sukanya, daughter of TMC Birbhum District President Anubrata, to appear before the court today after a petition was filed that she got the post of teacher without clearing the TET. The petitioner alleged that a total of six people including Mandal were given jobs as primary teachers without undergoing the TET. Hearing on a PIL on Wednesday the court had asked for documents regarding Anubrata Mandal’s relatives getting jobs in primary schools and hence directed Mandal’s appearance before the court. As per reports, Sukanya Mandal never physically visited the school of her appointment while the attendance register was sent to Mandal’s house to mark her presence.

The world’s best-known crude benchmark, Brent was trading at $94.91 per barrel on Thursday after concerns of a global reces sion led to it slipping to a six-month low of $91.51 on the previous day. The current rates are a relief to India, which is 85% dependent on imports for meeting its oil needs. While all telecom operators have opted to make payments in 20 an nual installments, Bharti Airtel paid ` 8,312.4 crore equivalent to four annual installments.RelianceJio has made payments of ` 7,864.78 crore, Vodafone Idea ` 1,679.98 crore and Adani Data Networks `18.94 crore. New Delhi(ANI): The Supreme Court on Thursday asked the Centre to file its response within 10 days on a PIL seeking directions to make pharmaceutical companies liable for giving freebies to doctors as an incentive to prescribe their drugs. A bench of Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice AS Bopanna was informed that makers of Dolo-650 mg tablet had invested `1,000 crore in freebies to have its anti-fever drug prescribed to patients. The CBDT has accused makers of the Dolo-650 tablet of distributing freebies worth `1,000 crore to doctors as consideration for prescribing the tablet, said senior advocate Sanjay Parikh, appearing for the FMRAI .
Justice DY Chandrachud remarked that it is a “serious issue” and said that even he has been prescribed the same tablet during COVID.“This is not music to my ears. I was also asked to have the same when I had COVID. This is a serious issue and matter,” Justice ChandrachudAdditionalsaid. New Delhi (ANI): Private airliner SpiceJet Limited and Swiss company Credit Suisse on Thursday told the Supreme Court that they have reached a settlement of their financial dispute.Abench of Chief Justice NV Ramana and Justices Hima Kohli and CT Ravikumar allowed SpiceJet to withdraw its appeal challenging the winding order passed by the Madras High Court. “There is a settlement which has taken place on May 23, 2022, as per the consent terms. In view of it, both parties are satisfied with the settlement and want to withdraw the SLP (special leave petition) filed by the petitioner (SpiceJet). Accordingly, the application is allowed,” the bench said in the order and directed the parties to abide by the consent terms.Atthe outset, SpiceJet told the apex court that both the parties have settled their dispute and said there was a bank guarantee given to the Madras High Court Registrar according to the high court order.Now, according to the terms of the settlement, the bank guarantee has to be released and returned to the bank, the counsel appearing for the airline told the bench. Noting the submissions, the bench said the parties concerned were at liberty to move the high court for release of the bank guarantee.

SRI RADHA KRISHNA TEMPLE, BANGALORE One of the biggest ISKCON temples in the entire globe is the Sri Radha Krishna Temple in Rajajinagar, North Bangalore. Six shrines honouring Radha-Krishna, Krishna Balarama, Nitai Gauranga, Srinivasa Govinda, Prahlada Narasimha, and Srila Prabhupada are located within the temple complex. The temple’s design includes blue glasses that stunningly contrast the white sandstone walls. The temple also boasts a goldplated kalash shikara and a flag that is 17 metres high. The Vedic museum, the exhibition area, and the Vedic movie theatre are among the additional attractions on the temple grounds.
The well-known Lord Krishna Temple in India, Jagannath Temple, is one of the dhams of the illustrious Chardham Yatra. Both Buddhists and Hindus regard the temple as sacred. A beautifully carved wooden statue of Jagannath is located in the temple’s main sanctum, which is unique because stone murals are typically found in temples.
