W espite the Supreme Court’s strong judg ment in the Nirbhaya gang rape case, gang rapes continue to happen in India. That’s because of the patriarchal mindset which looks at women only as sex ob jects. The groundswell of criti cism of Gujarat government over the release of convicts who gangraped a pregnant Bilkis Bano does not mean that such heinous crime won’t recur. It is equally possible for future rapists to get away with state pardon. Politics was at play in the Bilkis Bano case. Not so in Kera la where a sessions judge has been roundly criticised for his misogynist remark in a sexual harassment case. The Kozhikode sessions court in a shocking re mark said that sexual harass ment charge won’t hold if a woman is provocatively dressed. This is almost like a khap pan chayat in western Uttar Pradesh barring women from wearing provocative dresses or using mo bile phones. It also ignores the argument that even those women who are simply and decently clad have not been spared by rapists. After retirement he en tered Parliament in 1893. He formed the Indian Parlia mentary Committee of which he was Chairman till 1900. He came to India in 1901, for investigating into famines and proposing pre ventive measures. In 1904 he came again to attend the 20th Session of Congress in Bombay, which was presided by Sir Henery Cotten.Asa Liberal, William Wedderburn believed in the principle of self-govern ment. Police informed the victim had gone to a temple with her father, where the accused was working as a labourer. “The accused has been identified as a relative of the temple priest. The ac cused took away the victim and bit her body parts. An FIR was registered by the victim’s family at Shri Mahaveer Ji Police Station, following which, the accused was arrested,” police said. Karauli: A POCSO Court in Karauli has sentenced a man to life imprisonment for raping a minor girl. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 1.30 lakhs on the convict. Public Prosecutor Mahendra Mudgal in formed that the victim was kidnapped and later raped at different locations by accused Luv Kush Rajput. “The incident took place in March 2021. Accused Luv Kush Rajput kidnapped the girl and took her to Gujarat where she was raped. Following an FIR by the victims’ family, the accused was arrested while the girl was taken into custody,” said Public Prosecutor.

Soon after the inci dent, the FI journalist Soubhagya Sharma spotted the victim as he was crossing the area for his duty calls. He later rushed the victim to the SMS, where he was taken immediately to the burn ward. Till late evening, his family could not be contacted and police were in formed which somehow managed to get in touch with the Guneshwarrelatives.Ram (35), native of Bihar, is sur vived by his wife and 3 children and was the sole breadwinner in the family, narrates his dis tant relative. As per the doctor at SMS Hospital, any case with burn in juries above 50% is con sidered lethal.

Advocate Poonam Chand Bhandari, ap pearing for petitioner Sitaram Kumawat, told the court that Kumawat, using his influence, al lotted a petrol pump in the name of his wife and got it constructed. Whereas in the revenue records, this land be longs to the Public Health Engineering De partment and PWD De partment. In 1997, Ku mawat, in connivance with the revenue offic ers, officers of water supply department and engineers of PWD de partment, constructed a petrol pump. First India Bureau Jaipur: The ban on Rajasthan Discoms from trading in energy exchanges was withdrawn by the Ministry of Power after a payment of Rs 280 crore was made. The Ministry of Power had declared 27 power companies of 13 states including Rajasthan as defaulters in case of negligence in payment of dues. The Ministry’s undertaking POSOCO directed all the three power exchanges- Indian Energy Exchange (IEX), Power Exchange of India (PXIL) and Hindustan Power Exchange (HPX)to ban power trade with the defaulter power companies with immediate effect. Now after the payment of Rs 280 crore was made, the ban has been lifted from the power companies of Rajasthan. Apart from Rajasthan, power companies of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand were included in the list.
First India Bureau Jaipur: A 25-year-old boy allegedly committed suicide in an inebriated state by jumping off the fourth floor of a residential apartment in Muhana Mandi area on Thursday morning. The deceased has been identified as Rakshit Khandelwal, a Chartered Accountant (CA).Muhana Police Station SHO Lakhan Khatana informed that a case of abetment of suicide has been registered by victim’s father, Ramakant Khandelwal, against the accused. “Rakshit is a resident of Urbana Jewels Apartment in Muhana Mandi. At around 4 am on Thursday, he went to the balcony, cut the net and jumped off the fourth floor of the apartment. Rakshit died on the spot. A suicide note has been recovered from his room,” said SHO Lakhan Khatana. “As per the suicide note, Rakshit consumed liquor before jumping from the balcony. Bheem Singh, Tejveer, Arvind, Rahul, Reshu of Bharatpur have been accused of harassing and threatening Rakshit. Abhishek Shrivastava Jaipur: Urban Development and Housing Minister Shanti Dhariwal, on Saturday, inspected the IPD tower project under construction in the Sawai Mansingh Hospital complex in its first phase.TheIPD Tower will be the tallest building in the state. The height of this 24-storey building is 115.5 metres. In terms of medical facilities, it will be the tallest medical tower in the country. CM Ashok Gehlot had laid the foundation stone of this project on April 5 and the entire project will be completed in 32 months. The construction work is divided into two phases. Rajeev Gaur Jodhpur: Former CM of Haryana Om Prakash Chautala on Saturday gave hints for a third front in Rajasthan ahead of the assembly elections in the state due later next year. During his Jodhpur visit, he said that the people in the country and the state are troubled by various problems and the governments do not care about the people. “That is why we are doing surveys all over the country. After the survey, we will definitely emerge as the third front,” he said. During the visit, Chautala recalled his connection with Rajasthan. “I and my forefathers had a connection with Nokha village. Anurag Thakur: I firmly believe that when there is a leader like Narendra Modi in the country, who can take decisions and an individual like Amit Bhai, who everyone ad dresses as the ‘Modern Chanakya,’ know what strategies are to be made. Let me reveal something here. It was a weekend on August 3 and 4, 2019. About a week before, we were all told that no MP would go to their constituen cies or homes as there would be a training, since a new Parliament had been formed. And I was made the head of that training to co-ordi nate the entire event. I was handling the stage management and I raised the team for it as the party had given me the responsibility. PM Modiji and Party Presi dent Amit Bhai, who was also the Home Min ister, had to come for the Opening Session. Amit ji was to address the Opening Session how ever, he called me up in the morning saying that he would not be able to address the gathering so I made the required changes in the pro gramme. He could not come for the pro gramme on August 3 although he was in the Parliament, but was busy with other works. I met him in the evening and he said that he will see, if he can come on August 4 before the con cluding ceremony, where PM was sched uled to address. During lunch on August 4, I asked him, if I can schedule his address, to which he replied that he won’t be able to address the programme. I was unable to fathom what had happened that he was not coming. But during those 2 days, Amit Bhai was en grossed in devising ways to remove Article 370 and 35 (a), how to go about it, the strategy, the legal aspect and how to get it passed in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha and especially the Rajya Sabha, where we did not have a full majority. Despite all this, they got it done and this was only possible because of Narendra Modi and Amit Shah. But in spite of that, we won so many medals this time around, which is a ma jor achievement. But what is the reason be hind this? PM Modi’s schemes like Target Olympic Podium (TOP) Scheme. We pay for all the expenses of elite players like food, ac commodation etc, then their participation in national and interna tional events is paid for by the Government of India, and other than that, we give Rs 6 lakh to such players for fi nancial security. Apart from this, we select 3,000 athletes from across the nation and spend Rs 5 lakh per athlete for their train ing, etc. We also give them Rs 1.20 lakh per annum for their other uses. We are running 23 National Excellence Centres and these are apart from the State Centres. We are going to open 1,000 Khelo In dia Centres of which, permission has been given to 590 centres and retired athletes will be appointed as coaches.
