International Stars Sparkle at

as Orange and Purple Cap Race Hots Up!

As the IPL juggernaut rages on with the tournament close to completing one month, the recent week saw the foreign players rule the roost creating major impact for their franchises.

Ever since Brendon McCullum hit the first IPL century in the first match itself in 2008, many overseas players like Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers have created their own fanfare and thrilled cricket lovers with scintillating displays of their talent. IPL may be a cash cow for many foreign players but their presence has also been a catalyst for Indian youngsters as they learn from them and quicken their journey to the national team.

The first name that comes to mind for IPL 2023 is Harry Brooks who hit this season’s first century for derabad. His first few matches

were total failures as he was unable to live up to the hype that was created after the IPL auction where he was bought by Hyderabad for Rs 13.25 crore. But the England batsman silenced his critics by hitting an unbeaten century of just 55 balls against Kolkata Knight

The Orange Cap for leading run scorers is currently with the South African batsman, Faf du Plessis, with 343 runs. He is also the current Royal Challengers Bangalore captain and has been in fine form. In the last 4 games that he has batted, Faf has scored 3 half centuries and is one of the reasons along with Kohli’s batting that RCB finds itself with 3 wins out of 6 games. He is 38 years old but has proven that old is gold with his form and fitness. Faf’s presence in a squad full of youngsters should be an opportunity for them to soak his experience and learn the tricks of the trade

Then there is the curious case of David Warner, who hasn’t been in the best of form but still manages to

I am saddened and saddened by the passing away of Odisha’s senior leader, former MP Trilochan Kanungo. His work for the welfare of the people will always be remembered. be at number 2 in the top run getters table. His natural flair has been missing in Delhi’s poor campaign this year, where the team has lost 5 out of 6 matches and yet to gain any sort of momentum. The absence of Rishabh Pant and misfiring Mitchell Marsh has meant that Warner has had to take additional responsibility to stabilize the innings in the middle. But it does serve as a great example to many young batting talents that flexibility is the key to longevity in international cricket.

Beyond batting brilliance, some overseas players have come up with phenomenal bowling performances in IPL 2023. Among pacers, England’s Mark Wood is bowling fiery spells in every match for Lucknow Super Giants. Starting their campaign at home. In his debut for the franchise, Wood snared the scalps of Prithvi Shaw and Mitchell Marsh on back-to-back deliveries in his very first over. After clinching both wickets, he got more aggressive and fetched a fifer. Since then, he hasn’t looked back and with 11 wickets in 4 matches, he currently ranks second in the race for Purple Cap.

The other pacer who has impressed is veteran Kiwi, Trent Boult, who puts up a swing bowling masterclass in almost every game he plays for Rajasthan. He too grabbed two wickets in his first over against Delhi and ended with superb figures of 4-1-29-3. The left-arm pacer provides crucial breakthroughs at the start, has been a wily threat for all batters and lends a special potency to the Royals attack this season.

Among the spinners, it is Rashid Khan who has provided the most amazing spells. His best

Eperformance was against Kolkata Knight Riders where he managed to get a hat-trick. In his first three games, he bagged 8 wickets and though he has slowed down a bit in the last couple of games, the right-arm leggie is at the 3rd spot in the Purple Cap race with 11 wickets in 5 games so far. His wrist spinning abilities in the IPL season have once again underlined why Rashid is one of the most feared and featured bowlers in world cricket!

More than the learning that Indian domestic players find from rubbing shoulders with the overseas stars, it’s the bonhomie that gets created between cricketers from all over the world which has been the biggest gain for the game. It’s a win- win for both the fans and the players as it results in evolution of cricketing skills with each passing year through the IPL experience!

Gehlot said that every government has a limit to give government jobs.

“There is a desire to create such an atmosphere in Rajasthan that in-

Bloom grace!

Without a question, sunflowers are among the most exquisite flowers that have ever existed.

Not just for its hue, but also because it represents companionship and love. The good news is that you can wear a variety of clothing with sunflower patterns today. Sunflower prints may be combined in a variety of ways to always appear interesting.

Monochrome clothing is often avoided by fashion companies in order to give their designs more vitality, especially during the spring and summer seasons. Prints are therefore often the ideal

choice to produce more merry and delightful apparel. The nicest floral patterns that are currently available feature sunflowers. For instance, if you wear a sunflower-pattern shirt, you may match it with a matching design skirt. Clothing featuring floral designs, such as sunflowers, might be challenging to match. This is due to the fact that floral patterns come in a variety of hues, and some clothing pieces even feature appliqués or rhinestones. Yet you may always mix a sunflower pattern with interesting material. At other times, stripes will be a fantastic choice because they will provide your ensemble with a neutral focal point. Apart from prints, there are many designer sunflowers jewellery available to uplift your summer spirit.

A beautiful pair of earrings with a yellow top and white pieces of the denim will work wonders for you. To add the cherry on the top wear sunglasses to complete the look go for a nude make-up look.

Bathing with hot water can offer a bundle of health benefits. Here are a few surprising reasons why hot water baths are good for you. Read this and start taking hot showers every day to stay hale and healthy.

TAKING A HOT BATH MAY LOWER INFLAMMATION, IMPROVE GLUCOSE METABOLISM

Can't exercise? Simply resort to hot water treatment, as a new study finds that taking a hot bath can improve your inflammation and blood sugar levels.

Have you ever had a tough time deciding whether to take a cold shower or a hot shower? Well, you're not alone. A hot shower is just so relaxing and hard to resist after a long day. In the hot and humid climate of India, many may say that a cold shower relieves fatigue and gives a feeling of freshness. But nothing can beat those few minutes under a hot shower that relax your muscles, soothe your sensations, and trigger a sound and peaceful sleep.

SURPRISING BENEFITS OF A HOT SHOWER

Did you know that, apart from relaxation, a hot shower has several other benefits too? And that's exactly what Vikram Raman, Marketing Head, of Ariston Group India Pvt. Ltd., tells IANSlife about the benefits of a hot shower.

HOT SHOWER IMPROVES

to circulate from the core to the hands and feet. As a result, the body radiates heat and becomes calm and relaxed. Your blood pressure lowers due to wider veins, and you feel better. Moreover, the heat from the water can help increase blood flow, which in turn can help soothe sore or tight muscles. For an even more relaxing experience, incorporate some aromatherapy into your shower routine with essential oils like lavender or eucalyptus to promote relaxation and alleviate stress.

TAKE A HOT SHOWER BEFORE BEDTIME TO SLEEP BETTER

Scientists believe that showering with hot water 90 minutes before bedtime cools the inner body and warms the skin. A hot shower destresses the body, improves blood circulation in the brain, and aids in natural thermoregulation. However, the ideal water temperature should be between 104 to 108? or 40 to 42? which an intelligent electric geyser can easily optimize.

TAKE WARM SHOWERS FOR HEALTHY SKIN

Warm showers have several benefits for the skin, particularly if you struggle with dryness or irritation. The warmth of the water can soften and hydrate your skin, making it more receptive to lotions or moisturizers that you might apply afterwards. Additionally, warm water can help to soothe any inflammation or redness, making it a great

is important to listen to your body and adjust your shower temperature accordingly.

HOT WATER BATHS LOWER BLOOD SUGAR

Research suggests that regular heat exposure through a hot bath, sauna, or hot spa water immersion can reduce the likelihood of type 2 diabetes. Since hot water pumps up your blood circulation, more glucose pushes into your muscles and tissues, lowering your blood glucose levels. A 2019 study also revealed that chronic hot water immersion (HWI) reduces fasting blood glucose concentration.

A HOT SHOWER

RELIEVES COLD OR FEVER SAFELY

As the seasons change, colds and flu are common. A hot shower has an instant therapeutic effect on a heavy head and a congested nose. Hot water relaxes the constricted blood vessels near our brain, alleviating pressure and headaches. The steam also loosens up the phlegm, clearing your nose and throat
