Ruckus at Osho ashram in Pune as disciples with malas enter forcefully
First India Bureau of Solanki with a caption that he would have turned 19 on Tuesday. Solanki, who hailed from Ahmedabad in Gujarat and was a firstyear student of the B Tech (Chemical) course, allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the seventh floor of a hostel building located on the campus on February 12.
Pune: Several disciples of late spiritual guru Osho Rajneesh wearing “sanyas malas” on Wednesday forced their way into the Osho International Meditation Centre (OIMC) to protest the management’s purported plans to sell the Ashram land. Tension has been brewing between a group of disciples and the OSHO International Foundation (OIF) management which manages the affairs of the Ashram for some time.

His family had claimed he faced discrimination at the IITB for belonging to a Scheduled Caste community and suspected foul play in his death.
However, the inquiry committee set up by the IITB has ruled out caste-based discrimination and hinted at deteriorating academic performance as a possible cause of suicide.

“violent” and tried to attack police personnel outside the ashram. He was not a part of the group of protesters but he became aggressive after the followers forcefully entered Ashram premises, police said. Followers of Osho have not been permitted to the mala--a string of beads with a locket--inside the ashram established by the godman for 23 years, according to a Newslaundry report.
OIF management claims that Osho had dropped the mala “long before leaving the body”.
