Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday hoped that after Congress leader Pawan Khera tendered an “unconditional apology” in the Supreme Court for his remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, no one will use “uncivilized language in political discourse hereafter”. The Chief Minister, however, added that the Assam Police will take the case to its “logical end”.

Amritsar (PTI): Radical preacher Amritpal Singh’s aide and kidnapping accused Lovepreet Singh Toofan walked out of a jail here Friday, hours after a court in Ajnala ordered his release based on an application by the police. The development came a day after supporters of preacher and Khalistani sympathiser Amritpal Singh had stormed the Ajnala police station demanding the release of his aide.
