ISRO’s LVM3 successfully injects 36 satellites into intended orbits

The Indian Space Research Organisation’s heaviest LVM3 rocket on Sunday successfully placed 36 internet satellites of UK-based OneWeb group company into intended orbits.

The 43.5 metre tall rocket blasted off at a prefixed time of 9 am on Sunday, from the second launch pad of Satish Dhawan Space Centre here. This is the second dedicated mission of NewSpace India Ltd (NSIL), the commercial arm of Indian Space Research Organisation.

ISRO had signed an agreement with Network Access Associates Ltd, United Kingdom, a OneWeb Group Company, for the launch of 72 satellites into LowEarth orbits (LEO).

“This rocket (LVM3-M3) also has the S200 motors that are designed with increased margins and features which are suited for Gaganyaan configuration. We are happy that it performed very well in this mission.” ISRO Chairman S Somanath said at the Mission Control Centre.

INTERNET SERVICES TO GET A BOOST

New Delhi: Bharti Enterprise-backed OneWeb on Sunday completed its constellation of 618 low earth orbit satellites that would allow it to offer broadband internet services from space in every corner of the world.

Jodhpur: Police arrested the man who gave death threats to actor Salman Khan and singer Moosewala’s father by email. The Mumbai Police nabbed the accused with help of Luni Police Station team that falls under Jodhpur Police Commissioner (West Zone).

The Luni police station handed over him to Mumbai cops who left for Mumbai with the accused. 2051 MISCREANTS NABBED ACROSS RAJ

Jaipur: In yet another massive crackdown on criminals, Rajasthan police on Sunday rounded up 2051 criminals in Jaipur and Kota ranges and Churu district. Harpreet Singh has asked fugitive radical preacher Amritpal Singh to surrender before police and cooperate with investigation. The Jathedar of Akal Takht (the highest temporal seat of Sikhs) also questioned police’s competence, wondering why they have not been able to nab the selfstyled Sikh preacher despite having such a big force.

“If Amritpal is out (of police net), then I will ask him to present (before police) and cooperate with (police) investigation,” said the Jathedar.

Singh’s remarks come in the wake of Punjab Police crackdown against radical preacher Amritpal Singh and elements of ‘Waris Punjab De’, an outfit headed by him. Amritpal Singh has been on the run since March 18, when the police crackdown began.
