Congress holds protests across India
New Delhi (PTI): Congress party across India on Sunday held “Sankalp Satyagraha” to protest against disqualification of Rahul Gandhi from Lok Sabha, with party president Mallikarjun Kharge lashing out at the ruling BJP and asking why it is pained if fugitives such as Nirav Modi and Lalit Modi are criticised.

In the national capital, Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, general secretary Priyanka Gandhi, Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot, KC Venugopal, P Chidambaram, Salman Khurshid, Jairam Ramesh, Mukul Wasnik, Pawan Kumar Bansal and others were among the party’s top brass taking part in the satyagraha at Rajghat.

New Delhi: Following his disqualification from the Lok Sabha, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday changed his bio on Twitter where he described himself as a “Dis’Qualified MP”. He also wrote “Dis’Qualified MP” on his official Wayanad Twitter account. He was disqualified from Lok Sabha on Friday, a day after a Gujarat court convicted him in a 2019 defamation case. The disqualification will prevent Gandhi from contesting polls for eight years unless a higher court stays the conviction.

Jaipur: The Congress’ Rajasthan unit on Sunday began its day-long “Sankalp Satyagraha” here in support of Rahul Gandhi following his disqualification from the Lok Sabha. The party’s state unit chief Govind Singh Dotasra, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas and several other leaders are taking part in the protest at the Collectorate Circle. He is deliberately trying to mislead the OBC class,” Gehlot said in New Delhi where he participated in ‘Satyagraha’.
“Congress has always cared for OBC, SC and ST classes. I myself belong to the OBC category and I am the CM for a third time,” he said. Gehlot said that Rahul’s Bharat Jodo Yatra got immense response and therefore the BJP is scared of him.
“The way people have gathered here for the party’s Satyagraha gives a message to the nation,” Gehlot said.
