Bima Yojana is a complex and lengthy process. This leads to delay in disbursement of SDRF assistance while farmers have to raise funds for next crop immediately after crop failure. Before rule of adjustment, farmers could have been given quick financial assistance under SDRF. The purpose of SDRF is not being fulfilled due to delay in assistance under new rule. Therefore, by deleting new rules, assistance received under SDRF should be given as an immediate assistance,” Gehlot said.
