536 BAGS OF ILLEGAL ARECA NUTS WORTH

`3 CRORE SEIZED

Aizawl: Security forces in Mizoram have seized areca nuts worth over Rs 3 crore. They seized a consignment of illegal nuts in Mizoram’s Champhal district. Assam Rifles troops recovered and seized 536 bags of areca nuts in Mizoram’s Champai district. Troops “recovered 536 bags of illegal nuts worth Rs 3.0016 crore” at Zotlang in Mizoram’s Champai district. The seizure was made on Wednesday. An Assam Rifles statement said the operation was carried out by a team of Assam Rifles and Customs Department Champhai.

New Delhi: Vice Minister of Defense for International Affairs of Japan Oka Masami called on Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday. Oka Masami briefed him about discussions held during Defence Policy Dialogue, which he co-chaired with Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane on Wednesday.

In the Dialogue, India and Japan agreed to diversify their defence cooperation in new and emerging domains like space and cyber as part of an aim to consolidate the overall strategic engagement.
