Raj High Court dismisses petition on Gurjar agitation

High Court has disposed of the contempt petitions filed by the state government in the matter of closure of railway track and highway during the Gurjar reservation of 2007.

At the same time, the court also disposed of suo moto cognisance.

During the Gurjar agitation in 2007, the government had submitted contempt petitions against Gurjar leaders including Colonel Kirori Singh Bainsla, who has passed away, for blocking the railway track and highway.

During the hearing, the High Court had also taken suo motu cognizance.

The youths who hailed from the same village allegedly thrashed the teen following a dispute, leading to his death, the police said. Following the incident, the relatives of the victim and other villagers pelted the homes of the accused with stones and demanded their arrest.

The police filed a case against 4 youth and matter is being investigated, they said. The teen’s body was handed over to his family on Thursday.

Director of Rajasthan Police Training Center, Jodhpur, Harendra Mahawar said that special VIP security and commando course is being organised from January 11, 2023, for 40 police officers and employees of the South African country Togo Republic at the Jodhpur centre.

The total duration of the Special VIP Security and Commando Course is 12 weeks & during this time, the subjects related to commando and VIP security are imparted in this training.

This course is given in a training form in Commando Tactics, Map Reading, Field Craft, IED Explosive, Medical First Aid as well as Hostage Rescue Missions. On this occasion, DGP Mishra presented a memento to the DGP of Togo. Togo DGP also presented him with the flag of Togo Police.

Kashiram Choudhary Jaipur: In an initiative by Governor Kalraj Mishra, the Sainik Welfare Department will issue ‘Veer Mata’ identity card to the martyr’s mother and ‘Veer father’ (martyr’s father). The policy of naming schools or public places after the names of martyred soldiers and gallantry awarded soldiers will be simplified.

Mishra has given instructions to constitute a committee under the chairmanship of the collector at the district level for the time-bound disposal of cases. These decisions were taken in the meeting of the Sainik Welfare Board on Thursday at Raj Bhavan. Mishra gave instructions for effective and time-bound implementation of various schemes being run for the welfare of ex-servicemen and their families. Sainik Welfare Department Minister Rajendra Singh Gudha stressed on making spe- cial efforts to settle the pending cases of allotment of land to the martyr’s dependents.

Chairman of the State Level Sainik Welfare Advisory Committee Manvendra Singh Jasol said that special efforts should also be made to solve the problems of retired personnel from Central Police Forces.

Jaipur: The luxury train ‘Palace on Wheels’ (PoW) reached Jaipur on Thursday with 51 tourists onboard. Officials informed that tourists from 8 countries have arrived in Rajasthan to visit various historical places of the desert state.

“Of these 51 tourists, 18 are Indians, 8 from the United Kingdom, 4 from France, 2 each from Netherlands, Thailand, Germany, & 1 from Russia. The foreign guests were given a warm welcome at Gandhi Nagar Railway Station wherein folk artists also gave their performances,” informed an official.

“RTDC Chairman Dharmendra Rathore also boarded the train with the tourists,” added the official.

Barmer: Even after passing over 24 hours, Barmer police are still clueless about the two women prisoners who had escaped from police custody late on Tuesday night. Three police personnel, one head constable, and two constables have been suspended in this case for negligence.

Dungarpur: An unknown vehicle hit a car near Amjhara on NH48 in the Bichhiwara Police Station area on Thursday in which two youths in the car died tragically, while a young man sleeping in the rear seat was injured. Both the dead bodies have been kept in the mortuary of Dungarpur Hospital. After getting the information, the relatives reached the hospital. The police have registered a case of an accident.
