Jaipur (PTI): Leader of Opposition in Rajasthan Assembly Gulab Chand Kataria on Monday said he will discharge his new responsibilities as the governor of Assam while adhering to the constitutional limits.

Kataria was congratulated on his new appointment in the Rajasthan Assembly on Monday. As the proceedings began for the day, Speaker CP Joshi informed the House about Kataria's appointment as the Governor of Assam.
After GC Kataria takes the oath of his new office, he will be welcomed in the House as Governor.

Jaipur: The appointment of Leader of Opposition in Rajasthan Assembly Gulab Chand Kataria as Assam Governor on Sunday, marks the departure of the BJP veteran from active politics in the State ahead of the Assembly elections later this year.
I am very grateful to all honourable members. I assure all of you, the people of Rajasthan, that as a representative of Rajasthan, I will try to carry out my work while remaining within the constitutional limits and I will try every moment in my life to maintain your respect.
After being appointed as the Governor of Assam, LoP Gulab Chand Kataria was felicitated by the Assembly Speaker Dr CP Joshi and other MLAs in the Speaker's chamber with a Mewar cap and shawl on Monday. After this, when he reached the House, Joshi congratulated Kataria on behalf of everyone and said that he was proud of him. Joshi said that Kataria studied with him in the same college and Kataria was also born in Dilwara village of his constituency. Kataria thanked all the members.
